Bill was a high school head baseball coach and Special Education teacher before venturing into private business. Bill spent 7 years as a teacher and coach at Mundelein High School and earned a masters degree from St. Xavier University. While he was at MHS he was part of a program that finished 4th in state, won 5 regional championships, and sent numerous players to play baseball in college.

Bill left MHS in 2008 to become the head baseball coach at Lakes High School. During his tenure at LHS they won their division for the first time in school history in back to back years while also winning a total of 46 games.

After leaving Lakes in 2010, Bill spent time at Fastball USA where he worked with and learned from Mike Ryan. Located in Schaumburg, Fastball is cutting edge and well known for creating 90 MPH baseball players with their Explosive Hitting and Black Belt Pitching programs.

During this time Bill coached at the feeder, freshman, sophomore, varsity and American Legion level.
