WorldMark Clear Lake

These accommodations are outstanding! Right from check in to checkout the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room/​apartment was spacious and very clean. The grounds were impeccable, the pool and hot tub were like new. Very much a Spanish influence to the resort, very well done. The scenery is outstanding with lake views from the room and mountain views on the other side. Lots to do in the area. Will definitely come here again if I am able.

Place is definitely boring. If you don’t have a boat, forget about it. We stayed here last weekend with family. All you can really do is swim in the resort that is, fish and hope you get a bite, and stroll down as far as down the street because everywhere around you besides the resort pier (needs the card key;which is the closes way of laying a finger on that lake) is private property. Recommended for old old retired couple with a boat! Lol

The property is well kept, the rooms are nice and surface clean, not deep clean. Our first one smelled stale and the second ones bathroom was saturated with incense from previous tenants. I even wiped down the walls and ceiling, still no relief. The front office staff was unconcerned her comment was: «Is that a problem?»
There is a no boat/​trailer parking policy but boats, a trailered quad and a camper shell were all parked along the main road leading to unit parking. This made two way traffic impossible. There are at least a dozen feral cats on the property.
The area this property is located in is depressed. The population is primarily sketchy and tweakers. Trailers (mobile homes) come here to die. Our car was keyed in the parking lot. The property should be gated, better lighting, have camera surveillance and a night watchman. WorldMark also rents out to non-​timeshare owners through a discounted on-​line service so weekend guests are anyone that can get the best deal. This relates to a hotel atmosphere rather than timeshare. We discovered this while here. Not sure we will choose WorldMark/​Wyndham again.
The manager was helpful in relocating us to a second room away from the stale smell and barking dog at the trailer park next door and prompt in filing a property damage report with his company for our vehicle. The Lake County Sheriff took over 5 hours to respond and then took the report over the phone and had us e-​mail our photos!!! We lost a full day of vacation over this event.
The closest community you would want to eat in is Lakeport about 20 minutes away. From Lakeport around to the south side of the lake are nicer communities, but still tons of trailers and junky dilapidated property. The north side is the worst. Generally, the entire area around the lake appears distressed and depressed. The parks are full of loiters. There are pockets of well maintained property, but they are few and set back. The communities farther away from the lake are clean and welcoming.
If you fish or just want to hang out at the pool this would be a good site for you. If you want to visit wineries it is good also but I suspect the communities in Napa Valley are safer than Nice. Other than fishing, the pool and a game room with coin operated machines, there is nothing for children.

We did an exchange here back in March and loved it so much we are back now in January! I am currently on one of their 2 computers in the lovely lobby — they provide these for guest use which is really great when you don’t have a laptop.
This is located in the North End of the Lake, about a 3 hour drive from where I live near San Jose. There are 3 ways we have used to get here, and all take within about 20 minutes of the same amount of time. Hubby came via 880 then 101 last time, going up to Ukiah, then coming south. Last time I took 680÷80÷505 to Williams and cut across on Hwy 20. More miles but easy driving. This past time we had to pick up my daughter in Napa so we went 680÷80÷12 and then thru Napa and Calistoga and over Mt. St. Helena (I think?). This is a nice way to go if you have time to stop in at wineries as you go past a bunch of them. HOWEVER, we ended up going thru at night time, and the drive over the mountain (about 6000 ft elevation) was VERY twisty. They did have a number of turnouts for slower traffic, but definitely a bit of a stressful drive for me, maybe because it was dark.
The accommodations — Very spacious! We were in a 2 bedroom last time which has the master on the top — very large room with bath. There is another bedroom with 2 twins and bath downstairs. Their pull-​out murphy queen bed is really nice. It is a standard size mattress, nothing like a pull-​out sofa. You pull it down from the wall and it is quite comfortable and makes the livingroom feel like a studio apartment for whoever sleeps there. Full kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and pots and pans, making staying in to cook (and save money!) very easy.
Staff — very helpful, even when 100% occupied as they are right now.
Location — very pretty here and great for those looking for some simple rest and relaxation. We drove to the other side of the lake to Lakeport last time and enjoyed a museum about the local Indians and land (can’t remember what it was called!!!). Stores do sometimes close early around here as it is a small town. We walked to the Marina Grill for a great breakfast last time we were here and plan to do that again today! Great resort and I’d love to come back again!
Oh, the only detraction here are the ducks and what they leave behind. Fortunately staff is always cleaning off the sidewalks

Went up there at my friend’s time share. Worldmark had a lot of things to do in the middle of nowhere, CA (it’s actually called Nice, Ca… How nice is that?!). The hot tub was bigger than any hotel hot tub that I’ve been to. It probably could have fit 20+ people comfortably. They had a kiddie pool and a full size pool (but I didn’t go in because it’s frikkin frigid at night and we did a night swim.
They have air hockey (but the score only works on one side.), a few pinball machines, arcade games and a pool table (all which you do have to put quarters in). Some of the games need some serious maintenance, but if you lose your coins the front desk will give you refund quarters to put into a new machine. I didn’t get to go in and exercise since we were only up there for a night before we hit cache creek casino, but they do have a little gym to exercise in (which I believe is free). The arcade, and pool (probably the gym as well) close at 10pm so be sure that you go in before then!
So I figure the rooms are probably all the same unless they have a higher end luxury suite for higher paying customers. But ours was two story, two bathrooms, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms with a king size bed in the master and two twins in the other. Flat screen tv’s in the living room and a Murphy bed that you can use for an additional guest. We had the top so there was a balcony area and electric bbq with a table out there in case you had friends who wanted to smoke. Full size washer and dryer, and the bathrooms were typical hotel motel size.
The lake itself was beautiful to look and photograph at but not to go in. It looked like the creature for the black lagoon was ready to come out at night and eat whoever stayed up too late, or an early morning jogger.
Great for the whole family! Casinos close by for the gamblers! Kayak rentals down the street! Nice place to relax and enjoy a weekend!

The WorldMark Clear Lake is just under a two hour drive from the Sacramento Airport. The resort is pretty secluded — sandwiched in between two trailer parks, there isn’t much to do within walking distance. Visiting with family, the rooms were in close proximity to each other, with a nice view of the lake and close to the pool. No issues with parking, but the lot was definitely full throughout the week. The pantry items were minimal, so expect to do some shopping while there. The main grocery store, Sentry, is a short 10 minute drive from the hotel. There is a Safeway about 20 – 25 minutes drive from the hotel in Lakeport if you prefer.
The resort and condos were clean and well maintained. The previous comments of the spiders are half true. The outside of the buildings, trees and surrounding areas were covered with webs and spiders — mostly daddy long-​legs, so totally harmless. Only 2 – 3 were found in our condo. It seems that the resort staff do try to maintain the spiders/​webs outside the building, but I think that the resort location and climate have a lot to do with the overall amount there actually are.
Wireless internet is available at a cost (~$ 10). Verizon cell service is pretty weak. From what I heard, Sprint had the best coverage in the area.
We were able to take day trips out to Mendocino and Fort Bragg, about a 1 ½ — 2 hour drive from the resort. Mendocino is a great town with shops and summer festivals. We were able to get out to do some Salmon fishing out of Fort Bragg. Charters leave extra early (5am-​6am), so plan ahead if interested. There are some wineries close by the resort, with most tasting rooms closing at 5pm. Restaurants in the area are all pretty casual, nothing in the way of fine dining.
If you’re looking for a resort town with lots of activities close by, this is probably not the location for you.
If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded resort, with minimal cell service, this resort may be just what you are looking for!

Awesome!!! I think I was in so much in need of a vacation/​getway that I loved every bit of the 4 nights we stayed here. MY family and I have only been to this timeshare once before and that was awhile ago so we were due. And I can speak for them that I’m sure we’ll be back again. The Lake is huge I’m saying this because we forgot how big it was. Everyone was so helpful from the check’in til the check out. Especially when it took 4 adults to find the switch for the outside porch light.
But I may add that we were staying in the penthouse #244 because there’s only two and I guess from what the receptionist told us we got the best of the two. And I would like to agree with that because it was very spacious for all of us. It was only 3 adults staying here but we had other family members staying in other rooms too so when we came together it fit us fine. All 10 of us. ENjoyed the stay grocery store 5 mins away and even a foster freeze not that far either.

This was the first time we have stayed at this resort. Driving from the east bay over here wasn’t the greatest and was looking forward to getting into our room asap. We arrived at 430 thinking we would be able to get into our room unfortunately our room wasn’t ready do to late checkouts which was understandable. After waiting 45 mins we arrived to our room only to walk into what felt like a furnace. This is when I started thinking I’m going to give this place two stars. 5 mins after getting into our room a maintenance guy came and put some fans in the rooms and informed us that our ac wasn’t working and thar he already has someone on the way to fix it. The reason I gave this place 5 stars is because of the amazing customer service we received here. In particular Pete in maintenence. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. I know for a fact that we’ll be back here.

We have stayed here multiple times and have had a great vacation every time! We love going out on the pier to watch the sunset over the lake. Just beware of the bats, there are hundreds of them that come out of the trees at dusk. It does add some excitement to your evening. Usually we stay out on the pier or in our room until after dark. While you are in town it’s nice to catch a concert or roam around the wilderness. Planning our next trip soon.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. Great view of the lake and the kids enjoyed watching the ducks that would hangout by our patio. Lydia & Carol @ check in were absolutely wonderful! Fairly quick drive over to the coast for the day as well. We’ll be back!

We’ve been owners for nearly 20 years now, and it’s probably been close to 10 years since I have stayed at this property… I’m so happy that we finally made it back! The area around the resort has changed so much! There’s wineries and casino’s and great little antique shops popping up all over. The resort it’s self has been fully renovated and has all the amenities of home. The staff was very helpful, professional and personable. The private dock is great for fishing, a sunset stroll or for admiring the lake view. The only complaint that I have actually has nothing to do with the resort and is more about the discourteous behavior of some of my fellow owners, but that’s a discussion to be had in a different forum. During our visit we joined a local wine club and are already planning our return trips for the pick up parties and plan to bring friends.

The way we were treated here was atrocious. Where to begin? Upon arrival we enjoyed the view of the local trailer parks and the free wine tasting with the lushes that were staying at the hotel for the wine country. Once we settled into our studio room (#131) for the night we noticed that the toilet was running every 5 – 10 minutes and the bed was extremely squeaky, but we were tired and tried our best to get through the night — a mistake for sure.
After little sleep and cricks in our necks, we made some breakfast and found a 5 pound weight made by a paper towel roll under the leaky sink. We placed a call in with the front desk to handle these seemingly minor issues then left for a walk. Upon our return there was a message that they needed permission to enter the unit for service if we were not there, so called to give them that then left for some lunch. Found a note that they «fixed» the problem with the sink and toilet, but nothing about the bed and in fact it was still noisy. Some time later the toilet started making noise again.
Stopped in at the front desk before heading to dinner and told them that the toilet and bed issues had not been resolved. They told me that another maintenance man would take a look and I told them that we would like either that or a new room — no response at all, so we left for dinner and dessert. When we returned, no note and after settling in we got a knock at the door to ask us if things had been taken care of — 9pm-​ish. We let them in to fix the toilet and bed, but they only «fixed» the toilet again and told us to drag the mattress onto the floor if the squeaking continued to be a problem — really?
So we dragged the mattress onto the floor and spent another hard night on the mattress, which was no more comfortable but was less noisy. In the morning we packed up and called the front desk to check out — no more sympathy there, just a suggestion to get a one bedroom instead next time. Then the final straw, before we could leave the hotel we had a maid try to barge into the locked unit without even a knock. Not a happy owner of this particular time share.

We loved our stay! Surely we’ll be back around Summer/​Fall time with the family/​friends. Newly renovated rooms. Very quiet/​far area

Upsides:
1) Absolutely no sign of the spiders a bunch of people on here were whining about.
2) Soft, comfortable beds
3) Great, well stocked little kitchen made for easy cooking of breakfast and dinner
4) Gorgeous view of the lake
5) Lovely hot tub, pool and «adult only» hours
6) Huge space — was just me and a friend and we could’ve had 3 – 4 more people and still had plenty of space in the apartment.
Downside:
1) Limited parking, especially with spaces taken for renovation equipment
2) Noisy children above me at midnight. (Did call front desk, they must have addressed it b/​c it quieted down)

Stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Oceanside, CA and man what a awesome place! Our room had a view of the lake and the only thing I regret is we didn’t had more time to spend here! The staff was VERY friendly and helpful and was able to give us some recommendations on places to eat while we were there. I would diffidently want to return here sometime!

The timeshares are two-​story and pretty comfortable. And the dock during sunset is gorgeous. There aren’t many boating opportunities on this side of the lake. But if you go to Lakeport on the other side, there are jet skis and boats available for rent. But I’ve heard Lake Mendocino isn’t too far away and may be even better.

FISHING & PIG HUNTING
That’s primarily what happens in this neighborhood. This Worldmark, nestled among trailer parks, is essentially a redneck heaven.
If you tire of pig hunting & have caught all the fish you need, there are two ill-​attended casinos nearby featuring slots. Good luck.
The resort itself screams AVERAGE on all fronts. Fairly nice people & service; fairly nice rooms & fairly nice lake on the other side of the iron fence and road.

My wife and I just finished a seven-​day stay at the Worldmark in South Lake Tahoe and needed a one-​nighter to tide us over until we could get home the next day and this location beat Nevada’s resort for reasons that aren’t so obvious. This resort is older but had a beautiful Mexican décor/​feel to it that added to its charm. The room had all of the amenities that Worldmark is known for and was clean and spacious, even for a one bedroom unit. The pool appeared to be one of the largest I have seen at these places and it also included a spa and wading pool as well. Outside of a locked gate (accessible with your room key) is a lovely pier with a boat dock (in case you bring your yacht with you) which was perfect for watching the sunset.
If you are looking for a resort lake filled with lots of nightlife and endless water sport rental facilities, this does not seem to be the place. The local economy does not cater to pocket-​filled retirees with money to burn, but rather, the community is of a laid back nature that helps to relax those that are looking for a little peace and quiet. We found this to be just what we were looking for. Granted this was on a sunday night a week after labor day, but this is how we found the surroundings to be.

Another very beautiful place for Worldmark in a secluded, quiet and yet perfect location. I like the Spanish influence that the building is decored upon, and the inside lobby looks like a cabin/​wine tasting cellar. The best feature of this place is the pool at night overlooking the lake. Almost feels like you can swim directly down to the lake. Also there is direct access to the lake behind the resort.
Parking is a bit limited, almost always have to get there early or you risk not finding a spot. But it doesn’t spoil the trip, and the place is just beautiful. I like getting the bottom floor with open patio, because you can just walk out from the back into the grass and enjoy your walk around.
Staff is very professional as always, rooms are medium in size compared to other Worldmark location, amenities are standard, but there is no tennis court.
Booking depends on the time of year, obviously with peak times you have to book farther in advance. But would definitely come back.

The location itself is wonderful! We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite! If ever the water pressure is a little low in the bathroom.
The 1 star review is for the phone customer service department. It’s supposed to be a weekend vacation but was only booked til Sat. Therefore had to call to stay til Sun. Called to make changes but they’re closed, tried the next day but was on hold for hours, had to emphasize that the situation is not acceptable whatsoever since its affecting a lot of people that came from all over the place for this event. It seemed like they did not care.
My advice: To prevent dealing with customer service, make sure you verify your itinerary! Check dates and room type ahead of time to make time for customer service to fix the problem and prevent the hassle during your vacation.
