The Thunder of Niagara Air Show spans an entire weekend of special exhibits, great concessions/games & play areas for the kids and amazing entertainment in an atmosphere reminiscent of the grandest county fair you’ve ever attended… ANDIT’S FREE They had dozens of «static displays» of planes, helicopters and drones, with many of which open to the public to enter and inspect. You could act out any of your favorite aerial scenes from any number of military movies and argue over who gets to be Maverick and who has to be Goose… ANDIT’S FREE They had the USAF Thunderbirds precision flight team burning by the grand stands and busting out eardrums at speeds nearing Mach 3(over 2,000 miles an hour). The team flew in unison in groups so close it appeared as if they were touching wings… ANDIT’S FREE Are you staring to catch my drift here? I highly recommend every red-blooded, God-fearing, stars & stripes donning man, woman and child attends this show and witnesses the Thunderbirds in action… …Scratch that… As American as this show feels(it’s like NASCAR in the sky), it was watching the Thunderbirds that really had me thinking just how silly any person is that attempts to solely identify with any particular subgroup of the population, be their boundaries race, color, creed, etc. Witnessing this flight team cover the blue stretch of the horizon — faster than sound itself — at such low altitude and then disappear like magic made me proud to be a human. Mankind truly is amazing.
