Oh my goodness! I have sooo missed having a place with the old world style pizza like this nearby. I remember going to Trousellos every Saturday as a kid and getting slices after bowling at Bowl-o-Drome. After it closed places popped up that were attempting to fill the gap. Most places fell short… although there is one place out on 425 on the way to Wilson, E. Antonio’s, that does a very good job. We’ve been going there for over 10 years for this type pizza, but it is a good hike from my house, as well as my parents. DG fits the need for this kind of pizza! Wonderful take on it. Thinner crust than E. Antonio’s, tasty sauce and less cheese. Really good pizza, and a good price, much more reasonable than Antionio’s. I will be returning to this establishment again to get more, no doubt.

I have loved old fashioned pizza since I was a child, but I have only seen it in the Niagara Falls area. Every time I get back to Western NY, I track some down. I saw the Unilocal reviews for DG Pizza and Bread and put it on my list of places to eat. I ventured out early one morning to make sure I got there before noon as others had recommended. The place is kind of difficult to spot, as it is behind another building near the corner of 19th and Elmwood. I spotted a sign on the street the pointed the way. Went inside to find that it is a take out place that mainly has pizza and fresh baked bread. I got a half tray(12 pieces) of old fashioned pizza for $ 10, which I thought was a good deal. Old fashioned pizza is pretty simplistic with just a tomato sauce on a bread like crust, sprinkled with a little bit of Romano cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. The crust here was nice and chewy on the bottom, but more like fresh bread in the middle. The sauce topping had a really fresh and mildly seasoned tomato taste. It really allows you to enjoy the flavor of the sauce and the texture of the crust. I had my breakfast of 3 pieces as soon as I got home. Next time I come back to the area I’ll hit this place first and try the bread too.

Growing up eating Trusello’s I knew what great old fashioned pizza is. When they closed it really was the end of an era. Walking in that same old door that hits you on the way in and out, then walking into bakery brought back great memories. The layout is different but the smell is the same. Pizza is almost exactly the same. This crust seems a bit thinner and crispier. A very subtle difference but still very good. I will definitely be back for more.

Can I give them 10 stars? This is the most delicious pizza I have ever had. Yes, i grew up on Pine Ave and like everyone else from Niagara Falls, LOVED Trusello’s bakery. This latest incarnation, not technically the same company, is fantastic! Its like stepping back in time. The only things missing are the ricotta cookies but I believe the old Italian lady took the recipe to her grave. Please open a branch in Seattle where I live, the pizza sucks there.

Brought back many memories of Trusello’s that once occupied the building. Everything is the same from its pizza ovens to its bread ovens and the old screen door that slams when you
