Had a wonderful experience here for Mother’s Day brunch. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious, the restaurant was cozy and clean, and the service was fantastic. The owner even gave us a tour of the inn! The server(Chris) and owner went out of their way to make the dining experience at Temperance House very enjoyable. We will be back!

Love this place! The food is excellent and the staff so warm and friendly. The rooms are charming and comfortable. The bartender Bobby rocked the house! What a fun night. I would definitely recommend this place for your next stay, meal or simply a few cocktails and some nice conversation.

I went for lunch at 12:30 pm hoping to get some Tavern /pub fare. The menu was 1 page and was Brunch only. The server was kind enough to ask the chef if we could have the lunch menu. The chef was fine with it so we were brought the lunch menu. Again a sparse one page menu with 3 salads, about 5 «lunch» items/sandwiches and then their selection of crepes to choose from, No soups, no appetizers. Just an odd menu(in my opinion). I thought they would have several choices of sandwiches and burgers, soups, etc.(which if you do an internet search takes you to a menu with«normal» lunch fare) I actually opted to have something from the brunch menu, as did my mom. I wanted hot chocolate to go with my french toast — they didnt have any. Coffee my mom was served was cold. Her french toast was supposed to come with onions and bacon. No bacon was on the plate. It took awhile to get the food and it was not crowded — to the point that we thought about leaving and going to Isaac Newtons. Good points which got me to 3 stars — my french toast bananas foster was very tasty. My mom’s french toast was good, just lacking bacon. My brother’s hamburger was good. The server was very nice. I just dont think I’d go back due to the menu and the wait time. Maybe dinner is better.

Wanted to try a new place and I think you should too! When you enter it is like going back in time. We learned that the building was built in 1772. We were able to choose the room we wanted to eat in. The tavern or the dining room. We chose the tavern. We were promptly greeted by 2 lovely waitresses, Natalie and Taylor. We never wanted for anything. The bread was delicious, served with cheese spice olive oil. The Thai calamari was perfection. Then came the dinner; I had a grilled romaine blue cheese salad with filet mignon. I can’t wait to go back and have it again! They’re also a bed and breakfast, with some fabulous rooms. If I haven’t made it clear, I will be back as soon as I can.
