Franco’s Pizza & Pasta

Love this place. Always get the same thing when I go there (yes it is that good) It is no longer on the Menu but the make it for me everytime (Chicken Marsala Grinder). Prices are always good and service is always right on point!

The food was cold in the middle. The waitress kept calling me ‘dearie’, which I find condescending.

We have always enjoyed our meals from Franco’s. They have good food in general. We live in town and it’s our go to place for, calzone, stuffed shells, etc. Their portions are generous as well. We’ve never had a bad meal there. They also offer delivery service.

Very good dependable place to go for a quick Italian meal. Nice staff prices are with in reason and delivery is on time.

Always enjoy the food here, but our second visit proves that the «dining-​in» service is quite lacking (knocked off two stars). It was obvious to us that a manager/​owner was not present due to the poor service. When we asked the waitress for the types of salad dressing they offer, she simply grabbed the menu and pointed to the list rather than telling us, which I found to be awkwardly rude. Our drinks were brought out quickly, but after waiting ten minutes I had to walk up to the counter and request that the salad be brought to the table before the meal. At this point, we were the only customers dining at a table. So, now we can move onto the entrees… my meal was done and placed on the counter for ten minutes before my husband’s meal was ready. I don’t understand why pasta and meatballs would take longer than a calzone, but I wouldn’t blame this issue on the waitress. The chef/​cook must not have timed the meals properly.
I’m assuming we weren’t the only people who had received poor service that evening since both girls working behind the counter were actually complaining about unsatisfied customers. Our waitress was shocked to realize that a customer who just left didn’t leave a tip, whom she proceeded to call a b*tch. I must mention that we did see the «non-​tipping» customer trying to grab the waitress’s attention a few times with no success (all three employees behind the counter were gabbing up a storm). The second girl working behind the counter complained about a woman/​customer that shouted at her «Be nice! Be polite!». Who knows what happened to create that outburst, but we continued hearing that quote repeated over and over again throughout our meal… ugh!
Anyhow, when we finally received our meals, they were both hot and delicious. Their tomato sauce is very good, the meatballs are tender and flavorful. The calzone was crispy and tasty. Unfortunately, when I opened my leftover calzone at work the next day, I’m assuming our waitress threw out the sauce… what a disappointment.
I must say, our first visit here was excellent all around… the service was fast, friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Franco’s for take out service, but the dining experience is hit or miss!

Francos is one of the best restaurants in the area. Very clean and comfortable family business. I would consider it a classy casual restaurant.
I know the owners Marco and Elizabeth very well as I actually worked there in high school. They care about their food and will remember your name.
My favorite pizza is the seafood with vodka sauce and baby shrimp.
You should also try their desert pizza with banana and caramel.
The turkey club is a nice lunch option as well as any of the specialty salads or pasta.
But my all time favorite addiction from francos is the boneless bbq wings and the cheesy garlic bread. They are so incredibly good that I crave them and I don’t even live there anymore!

This pizza and pasta restaurant in the Sand Hill Plaza is consistently excellent. My family and I have been going here for years and are never disappointed. The menu is wide ranging and the classic dishes are consistently great and specials are imaginative and always delicious. The thin crust pizza is delectable (and I grew up with Rizzo’s in Astoria, NY). There are excellent soups and salads and sandwiches as well. The quality of the entrees is consistent with much pricier offerings at Italian restaurants in Fairfield County, yet at much more reasonable prices and in a friendly, lively environment. The owners are a wonderful family and the servers are pleasant and attentive and extremely well trained. I love this place!

I love Franco’s. I don’t go often now that I don’t live in Newtown anymore. I usually get their pasta. The sauces they have are pretty salty but I still think they’re delicious.

Went here for the first time today, it was great! Cute little Italian restaurant with reasonable prices and great food. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap to go and only had to wait a few minutes. It was delicious! Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu :)

I get pizza here for my family of 6 every Monday or Tuesday when they have their 2 large pizzas for $ 16 deal. It may not be the best pizza I’ve ever had (that prize belongs to a place in New Haven), but it is very good pizza at an excellent price for my hungry teenagers.

Absolutely a must… I miss this place having now moved to Hilton Head Island, SC… But when i get «home» i will be coming in… All the food is consistently «Fresh» and Fantastic as well as the service. A Loving atmosphere with Great smelling and tasting food.

Ok, so maybe I didn’t give Franco’s a full opportunity to prove itself. I have eaten there 3 – 4 times in the past several months and the food is consistently very good. I’ve become accustomed to their pizzas and confess that I enjoy them. I also have to commend Franco’s for their continued community spirit. They recently provided pizzas for the volunteers if the CH Booth Library who are setting up for their July 13 – 17 sale. Franco’s also supported the volunteers of the Sandy Hook Donations Warehouse. Wonderful to see this gracious spirt from a local eatery that has already made donations. Cannot think of a better place to access a full Itallian menu and either eat in or dine at home.

Francos is either a hit or a miss. Granted I’ve only gotten take out or delivery from there, but my family and I have been ordering from Franco’s for over five years, so I feel as though my opinion regarding Franco’s is solid. The quality of their food really varies. I think when the boss is out, the food tends to come out crappy. Sometimes the pizza is cooked to perfection, other times it’s either burnt or chewy… As I said hit or miss. The delivery boys are also hits and misses. One jerk once said «wow, you guys sure like to eat this junk a lot!»… –_​– Thank you, for your rude and unnecessary input; I hope they fire you. While some delivery boys are very nice, and will ask how your day is going and so on. Franco’s is also a bit overpriced for the quality of their food. It is definitely NOT just one $, it ranges in the $$, with $ 10 to $ 20 entrees. All and all Franco’s is okay. I never really liked it too much, but my family keeps on ordering it year after year, week after week, almost every Friday… So there must be a reason for that, right? Bottom line, this place is a gamble. If you want to have a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance on paying for a $ 20 to $ 50 good or bad meal, this is the place for you.
PS: The orderers are also quite kind, but be weary of one of the guys with the thick accent, you’ll be struggling to understand him for five minutes, until he eventually gives up and hands the phone over to his 16 year old colleague.

I order from here pretty much every Saturday since I work at Brand Cigars that day. Really good food and you get the small business personal service. Really good folks and you feel local. Love it.

Franco’s is a small, family-​owned place. So, it would be silly to compare it to a fancy, upscale restaurant such as Carmen Anthony Steakhouse or something like that.
That said, Franco’s food is outstanding! I recommend any of their panini sandwiches. The bread is FRESH, as are the other ingredients. Their pizza is good too! This place is one of Newtown’s secret treasures!

Pizza is better than most. Nice place for quick meal.

I went here for lunch with my mother today. We got the chicken wrap. It was terrible. The wrap mainly consisted of lettuce. It was soggy and just unenjoyable. The staff was rude, was annoyed when we asked for tomatos (which they forgot along with the chips… we didn’t ask for those because I didn’t want to see some more eye rolling). Overall experience here was not good and I wouldn’t recommend it.

After moving to the area a few years ago, I’ve had a hard time finding a good pizza. I have to say that Franco’s does have the best pizza in the area.
I couldn’t honestly say the best food… lasagna was noodles with sauce and slice cheese melted on top. Made-​to-​order and fresh, but not baked and set. Not that the food is bad. It’s tasty and fresh, but just so-​so. However, WONDERFUL pizza and friendly staff and delivery.
