D & K Appliance Service

I had an issue with a cooktop they installed about a month ago, and their response was great. Just ordered an over-​the-​range microwave as well. The staff is knowledgeable and the customer service is fantastic. Their service department is excellent for repairs as well. Their prices are competitive with the big box stores, but it’s their service that sets them apart. I highly recommend them both for new appliances and for service/​repairs.

My wife and I will never go back to a big box store for an appliance. The people at D&K are great. They’re very knowledgeable, not pushy at all and have in-​house service. We’ve purchased three appliances from them so far and are very pleased with how we’ve been treated.

They were extremely helpful and had the washing machine delivered within 12 hours of being ordered. I was having a large family event and needed a replacement washing machine immediately — no place else could deliver in that amount of time AND the machine I wanted.
The delivery men were the cleanest and most knowledgeable that I have ever experienced. It really wasn’t any more money than all of the large chains AND the large chains could not get me machine for 3 to 5 days.
Overall, I can’t say enough about D&K Discount Appliance and would HIGHLY recommend to other people. We have used for the last 30 years and they remain the very best of the best.

I recently purchased a GE self cleaning double wall oven, model JK 3500 from DK Appliances. After using the broiler a few times, I noticed the inside front door of the oven, consisting mostly of a glass window, was coated with streaked grease. I activated the self clean cycle on the oven only to discover that it cleaned the inside of the oven incompletely and did not clean the door area at all. None of the specifications for the oven stated the self clean cycle omitted the door surface. The manual neglected to state this as well, however the consumer relations department at GE confirmed that, indeed, the self cleaning feature does not clean the inside of the door. DK Appliances was not aware of this problem, even though another dealer in the area told me they are aware of this and would have informed a customer of of it, and refuses to take the oven back or replace it. GE claims this is not their problem. Based on this experience, I would never buy another GE product or buy from DK Appliances again.
Just remembered that a few years ago a dishwasher we had bought at D&K a few years before that stopped working. A repairman determined it would be cheaper to replace it than repair it so I ordered a new one of a different brand from D&K. The installer was same installer who person who installed the broken dishwasher, but he forgot that. When he removed the old dishwasher, he said the dishwasher broke because it was installed incorrectly! I did not have the heart to tell him he was the who installed it. No more second chances for D&K.

I have purchased a number of large appliances at D&K with no complaints but I need to share this negative experience. I visited the showroom to purchase a new dispos-​all. The sales process was fine and the installation was arranged with no problem. The issue we has was that the installer did not replace the rubber splash guard that keeps food from flying out from the unit when in operation, or prevents silverware from accidentally sliding down into the unit. When I realized what was missing (my college aged son was home when the work was done), I called the installer and left a message for him to call back. He never did. When I called D&K, they seemed sympathetic and promised to tell the installer to all me back but he never did. I called him again myself and got him on the phone and he promised to check his schedule and call back with a time to come back. It’s been a week and no call back. This will be my last purchase from D&K.

We had a positive experience with the service department. I called about 2 weeks ago when our dryer broke (no heat) and Tina — who answered the phone explained a few things to me about dryers (no, we did not have a clogged vent or tubing) and then their policy.
It costs 79 for the guy to come out and if there is a fixable problem they apply the 79 to the labor (99 minimum charge) and parts.
It would up costing $ 169.60 to fix our broken heater (coil was busted) and he had one right on his truck. I wrote a check but could have also used a credit card.
The only complaint? I was told 9 AM — 1 PM and they came at 12:45 PM (still technically on time, but I waited almost 4 hours). I wish they could have 2 hour windows — or more repair techs. Our guy (Rob??) was getting sick and working his a$$ off.
Tina was a doll.
I will call again if we ever need to — but I pray we won’t need to often.

Hey I just wanted to neutralize the other negative review here and at least give D&K Discount Appliance Inc. a fighting chance because everytime I have delt with Danny (Store Manager) I have always gotten any questions I had answered in a timely fashion. I may have stumped him a time or two and he did not give me a BS answer. He did a little research and got back to me in a timely fashion. These guys are a family operated small businesss. They are what America is all about! Everytime I walk into D&K I am greeted by a friendly sales associate. I usually only deal with Danny as I have a strong relationship with him but I have also delt with a few of the floor reps. with 100% satisfactory results.
D&K Delivers, literally and figuratively. These guys have a sense of humor and are very candid and I appreciate that.
If anyone in my circle ever asks me if I know a good appliance store I do not even hesitate. From mid grade to super high end (they don’t sell junk or low end, go to Home DePot for that stuff, they don’t even try to compete in that arena) I have a 1 stop shop and that is D&K Appliances.

I was completely horrified by the customer service at D&K. My husband and I bought all of our kitchen appliances at D&K and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. We had a few problems and we could not get anyone at D&K to return any of our calls. I would have to call multiple times a day and when I did speak with someone, they assured me that they would look into the problem and call me back. I never received any return calls. Additionally, the salesperson had little knowledge about the gas cooktop that we purchased and when I called to tell him that a part was missing (which should have been ordered separately, as I found out from the manufacturer) he insisted that my installer must have lost it. We would have been better off going to Best Buy or another larger chain. We ended up going elsewhere for our washer and dryer and had no problems.

I have done some research about buying appliances and I can honestly say I have been into practically every appliance store within a 15 mile radius of my home.
I have procrastinated writing my reviews.
Not because I’ve been stewing necessarily cause I’ve already written my review about Sears (don’t buy there). But I’ve been so busy remodeling. It’s exhausting.
Today I’m reviewing D&K Appliances because the business card surfaced on my desktop as I was cleaning and I want to file it away.
This is one I want to keep, so I need to get it off my desk and in my phone book.
Dan McIntyre the sales manager helped me at the store. ASK FOR HIM… he was wonderful.
Mind you I already knew exactly what I wanted to purchase when I entered the store. Dan gave me further information on the products, he also walked me through which rebates were available, downloaded the forms for me. Told me about the time constraints and when to send the rebates in so as not to miss out on them. He was generally a great guy to deal with. He listed all the purchase prices. Wrote everything down for me.
I asked if they used an outside delivery service and he said no, the people who deliver are employees of the company. This is a big determining factor in my mind, as 3^rd party delivery people do not take care of a product that does not belong to their company. I have seen this happen time and again.
It frustrates the heck out of me.
No extra charge on delivery.
These guys are great to deal with.
