I realize Unilocal-ing about a pharmacy is probably a new low point for me, but I need to complain somewhere. While I can’t speak about all of the pharmacists at this location since I have only dealt with two of them… the two that I have dealt with are probably some of the rudest people I have ever met and lacking majorly in the personality department. I never would have went to this pharmacy because my prescriptions are not covered there, but it was a workman’s comp situation and this was the closest pharmacy to the hospital that had prescribed my the antibiotics that I needed to take ASAP. Filling the prescription was a disaster because the pharmacist had no idea what I was talking about or what to do with the information so I paid out of pocket just to get out of there. Workman’s comp later instructed me to return to Walgreens(yay…) to have them refund me and resubmit the prescription properly. Sounded easy enough… Ill just talk to a different pharmacist. Nope. The woman that I had to talk to last night was either lazy or just a felt like being a jerk. She wouldn’t even look at the paper I had and just kept telling me a bunch of B.S. I just reported this to my claim representative and she says that the information the pharmacist told me was 100% untrue. I will probably try a different Walgreens or hope that my claim representative can handle this for me because I will never step foot in this location again. THANKSFORNOTHINGWALGREENS.

I have been living in Newton for three years and shop here regularly. I like the store and the staff. Newton is the County Seat, but it functions like a small town. There are plenty of alternatives in the area and if conditions were as poor as described above, the store would have closed long ago.

This is a slightly run-down Walgreens in an urban area which can be intimidating. Expect the same stuff you find at a typical WG, but with a bit less selection. I’ve been in and out quite a few times and found the service to be somewhat inattentive and preoccupied. The store is in need of a complete renovation and reorganization, but I know that Walgreens has tried to shift this location to a higher profile address nearby without success. I think they’re just biding their time until they get a new spot to land. In the meantime, they ought to do a better job of keeping the store clean and neat. Instead, it feels neglected. The parking lot is the worst part of this place. It’s routinely trash-laden, not lighted well enough, and needs resurfacing. I don’t feel safe here after dark.
