The Spring Valley Equestrian Center has been offering horseback riding in English and Western Styles since 1972. We have a team of highly qualified riding instructors ready to enthusiastically pass their knowledge to eager students. Our well-​trained horses are child safe.

We offer group and private lessons at moderate rates and we offer seminars prior to show season for experienced riders looking to polish up style and performance. Gorgeous Trail Rides are a treat offered on any day of the week through the beautiful fields and trails with a fantastic view of the Appalachian Trail Ridge to High Point.

History

Established in 1972.

Located in Newton, New Jersey (Sussex County), Spring Valley Equestrian Center has been offering high quality English and Western horseback riding lessons to children and adults since 1972. Our highly qualified riding instructors are skilled in every aspect of riding, teaching and training, and they pass their knowledge enthusiastically on to their students.

The school horses are well trained and child-​safe. Group and private lessons are available at moderate rates. Seminars are held prior to the show season for the more experienced riders and for horse owners, who want to polish up their style and performance for the show ring. We also offer boarding and training and have modern indoor facilities for lessons during inclement weather.

Our stunning Trail Rides are available on any day of the week. We ride along the beautiful fields and trails, while enjoying a fantastic view of the Appalachian Trail Ridge to High Point. You’ll never get tired of the view! Stop by and say hello.

Meet the Business Owner

Christine L.

Business Owner

Christine has spent her life on the Spring Valley Farm. As a young woman she gained a love of riding, becoming a skilled horsewoman, competing, and eventually giving lessons to other young riders. Christine has been showing since she was a youth and has accumulated many wins at the national level. After she finished her master’s degree in art education, she returned to Spring Valley, her first love. She is the heart and soul of the business and now oversees the operations of SVEC.
