Lida is the best seamstress and person one could know. Period.

I want to give this place more stars, but my brand new dress was ruined here. If you have anything with accordion pleats, beware!
I bought a dress from Anthropologie that was a bit too big to have it tailored here. That part went great and the dress fit very well after the work was done. However, the first time I brought it back to be cleaned, I brought it home, took it out of the bag, and the beautiful accordion pleats had been flattened in both the front and back of the dress! AGHHHH!
I brought it back and explained why I was bringing it back and Lida politely agreed to send it back, saying she didn’t know why ‘they’ would have done that and ‘they’ clearly should have known better. Who is the ‘they’ my clothes are being sent to? Who is taking responsibility here?
Unfortunately my boyfriend picked up the dress the next time around without looking at it first, and when it got home, same thing — no change, pleats all flat, awful.
After two attempts, I figured I’d take my ruined dress elsewhere in the hopes someone can salvage it. SO disappointing to have spent money on the dress AND tailoring, only to have it ruined by the same company who tailored it so well.

I’ve used Lydia for some time and she used to be reliable but the last few experiences were sub-​par. In mending and tailoring new clothing she forgot to do several finishes, and recently she did not have items on time as promised. Her rates are also expensive. There is also a dog that hangs around the office — not exactly hygienic for a clothier. Bottom line: There are other options locally that are better.

Like other reviewers have said, Lida and her crew are great!

Lida is amazing! She did a complicated tailoring job on my dress and had it ready 2 days before she promised it. She even gave me a discount because she knew I was a college student.

I discovered this place on Unilocal after looking for a new seamstress online, and I totally agree with the other reviews. She does excellent work at very reasonable prices, not to mention very friendly. I’ve also switched cleaners to Perfect Fit, and she got an old stain out of my husband’s suit jacket that another cleaners hadn’t been able to touch.

Compared to other tailors in the area the prices are very good. Lida is really nice and obviously cares about her customers.

This is an excellent place for tailoring and dry cleaning. The proprietress, Lida Mkrtchyan, is accommodating and expert. We highly recommend Perfect Fit for economical, excellent tailoring. They also offer laundry services at a reasonable price.

Living in MA for the past 6 – 7 years has brought me to different tailors but none like Lida. I started believing in MIRACLES after I met her in Newton when she worked for Zoots dry cleaners.
Looks like she started her own business and calling it Perfect Fit is exactly what she does!
She is capable of fixing everything, I have gone to her with pants and skirts for hemming, fixing holes for my blouses/​sweaters. About those holes on my winter sweaters — never could find where the holes were once they were fixed! MIRACLE!
Her prices are very very reasonable especially with the work she puts into it.
Over the years I have needed many fixings and the only person who I would go to as long as I am in Boston is Lida!
