M&M Moving and Storage Company

First of all, let me tell you there are a few things in this life that scare me: Spiders, public speaking, and moving. M&M Movering easily knocked ‘moving’ off my list.
Marcin’s team at M&M Moving is nothing short of world class. My experience with them was 5-​star from start to finish. I was moving into a new home and bringing most of a 2 bedroom apartment PLUS a stop at a storage unit to pick up a 3 bedroom house’s worth of other furniture.
The truck arrived just before our arranged start time which made a great first impression on me. The 3 gents were professional, attentive, and fast at moving out the boxes and furniture pieces from the apartment. They carefully wrapped things in blankets, taped up what needed to be, and checked with me before doing anything with loose/​breakable/​etc. items. They made sure things were secure before heading to the storage unit.
Once there, they moved all of the personal effects and furniture pieces onto the truck and grabbed a quick lunch before heading to the final destination. In all fairness, I nor they were expecting as much «stuff» in the unit to be moved!
They maintained their fast work and positive attitude throughout the entire, 9+ hour process and made sure that I was 100% satisfied with where things were placed or if things needed to be reassembled.
The Wrap-​Up: Efficient, Friendly, Experienced movers with an eye for detail and attentiveness to their customer’s satisfaction. A sure thing if you’re moving.

M & M did an in-​home move for us a couple of weeks back. We needed some larger pieces of furniture moved from an upstairs bedroom to the basement and some stuff moved from the basement into a pick-​up truck. The two gentlemen who came that day were on time, polite, careful, and efficient. The company has a three-​hour minimum for hiring and we had some extra time left over so they assembled our new crib which was great. Would use them again.

I can’t say enough about these guys. From an almost immediate response to a moving quote inquiry to the last piece of furniture assembled, Marcin and his crew were exceptionally professional and friendly throughout what is always a tiring and harried experience. Next time we move, there’s no question these guys are getting my business.

Absolutely fabulous moving experience with M&M. Marcin was incredibly professional and responsive in the lead up to our actual moving day, and Michael and his team who packed and moved us were absolutely stellar. Courteous, efficient, and just all around great people. I highly recommend M&M!

These guys were awesome! My husband and I used them for our move from our Brighton apartment to our first house in Watertown. They came and did an in-​home estimate prior to moving, and their flat rate was comparable with many other area movers (I called at least 15 different moving companies.) M&M was always very responsive and helpful through my selection process. They estimated that the move would take 4 – 5 hours, but they were done with everything in 3. There was no damage to any of our belongings, furniture, or 52″ Plasma TV. These guys were efficient, careful, easy to work with, and very pleasant. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

This was the best moving experience I’ve ever had – the guys were very polite and nice, super speedy, and very easy to work with. They showed up on time, they moved quickly but very carefully, and even did an extra job for my parents while there. I can’t stress enough how polite and respectful and all around professional they were. They set my furniture up for me in my new place as well. I will be calling them for my next move!

We’ve just moved and M&M helped us. I rarely log into Unilocal to give reviews but this time I feel that I am more than obligated to. Their service was exceeding my expectation in many ways — professional, thoughtful, and honest. They even came back to help me to put piano cups two days after we had moved in because the piano is way to heavy and we couldn’t manage it. Marcin, the brother and hard-​working father were all so courteous, nice and pleasant to work with.
Perhaps you will get a company QUOTE for less but then you are always charged more after actual move. This is the only company that I’ve used that charges a flat rate fee. And, they are extraordinary.
If I could give 6 stars, I will this time.

I saw their truck on the Tobin and decided to email them for a quote on moving. They got back to me quickly with a reasonable amount.
They showed up on the move day right on time. They were quiet while moving which was great cause we scheduled the move for early in the morning. Additionally they moved quickly up and down three flights of stairs. Same story when we were unloading, quick and quiet. Bonus, they even offered to dispose of my old box spring.
I would definitely use them again

One word… Amazing… M&M showed up five minutes early and hit the ground running. Within an hour and half they had our apartment cleaned out, drove to our new home and had everything in it’s place there. Their flat rate was one of the best rates I was quoted out of the four or five companies I contacted. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Marcin, Yaric & Tony went above and beyond my meager budget! They are professional, precise and efficient! Handled everything with exceptional care and beyond patient with my particulars. Did I mention stairs? Oh they handled the stairs like champs! You can go hard, go home or go M&M!

Moving can be stressful… all of the planning, coordination, and depending on people and things out of your control. For our move out of a 2 bedroom condo and into a larger house 25 miles away, I was prepared to have a pretty stressful moving experience, especially since we also needed to have our belongings stored for a week in between each move. Enter M&M Moving. Out of the 4 companies I contacted for quotes, they were the only company who came to our condo to provide an onsite estimate. They were also the only company to provide an actual flat rate price quote. Other companies provided a range based on labor, mileage, hours, etc. This was a flat rate that we actually paid. These movers also came to our condo to drop off all kinds of moving materials including boxes, packing paper, tape, etc. The owner, Marcin, was always accessible by email for questions relating to the move. These guys were incredibly polite, accommodating, and just all around good people. I’m so happy we gave our business to such a great company with such a great group of guys behind them. All of our stuff was packed with care and delivered to our new home and arranged meticulously. We couldn’t be happier!

I’ve used Marcin and his crew twice. The first time was 4 years ago when I relocated from DC to Boston. I had packed up everything, got a Uhaul and made the trek. Because I didn’t know anyone in Boston, I needed help. Marcin and his colleague were outside the building apartment waiting for me and as soon as I got there, they got to work. They were friendly, gentle and efficient. I kept his email address on hand because I thought if I ever had to move again, I would need someone as good as M & M Moving.
Fast forward to today and I wasn’t disappointed. This time my move was much bigger and more cumbersome. (Going down 4 flights of narrow stairs.) He had a great crew to help, and they were still friendly and efficient. Seeing his business grow over the past 4 years and still maintain the same level of service really spoke volumes to me about the quality and professionalism of Marcin’s company.
I cannot recommend M & M Moving enough.
P. S. Did I say that they are affordable? Yeah… that’s pretty sweet too!

These guys are fantastic!
When I started to gather quotes from movers from my Sept. 1 morning move, two of my coworkers recommended I try M & M. I emailed Marcin and he replied that same day. I was quoted a $ 500 flat fee for my Somerville-​to-​Somerville move and offered a discount on moving supplies. Done!
During the few weeks between the booking and the move, I acquired several extra (heavy) items — thanks, Craigslist! — including an armchair from my co-​worker (who was also using M & M movers for her August 31^st move) that I hadn’t yet picked up. I emailed Marcin to give him a head’s up about the extra items (which almost doubled my initial furniture list) and asked whether his crew might be able to bring the chair from my co-​workers house to my apartment on the morning of my move. Not only did Marcin agree to bring the chair over, but he also only raised my quote to $ 600, and chipped in my mattress/​box spring covers to free.
In terms of the actual move, these guys were super fast! Marcin arrived at my apartment on Sept. 1 on time and with two other guys (one more than I thought there would be). They loaded up my items, drove the half mile to my new place, and had the truck unloaded in about an hour. And when they found out that my girlfriend and I were planning to walk over to the new place, they gave us a ride in their truck.
These guys are very professional. When a boxed table lamp slipped off the pile of boxes one of the movers was carrying, he made sure I inspected the lamp for damage (there was none). I added that it was a cheap lamp, and that I was sure it would be fine, to which the mover replied, «It doesn’t matter how much it costs — it’s your stuff.»
M & M moving is fast, careful, and friendly. I highly recommend them!

My wife and I decided to try out M & M Moving based on a recommendation from a friend to help us load our two ABF ReLo Cubes.
We had high expectations but we were still blown away. They told us that they would bring 2 – 3 people but the ended up bringing 5. And the most amazing part is that they loaded our belongings and furniture from a 2 bedroom condo in 50 minutes! We only wish they could help us unload at the other end in SF too.

These guys are fantastic. They were very flexible with the timing and scheduling and able to schedule my move really quickly. They work really fast too. They had my apartment emptied out and onto the truck in under 45 minutes (and I lived on the 5^th floor). Unloading into my new apartment was just as quick. Everything was delivered unharmed, they even brought a separate car so I didn’t have to ride in the moving truck or walk to the new apartment.
They use flat rates based on the amount of stuff you have, rather than an hourly fee so I probably could have saved money if I had gone with another mover, but it was totally worth every penny. I highly recommend M&M moving.
They don’t take credit cards, but do accept cash and certified checks.

When I was moving in September, I may have procrastinated a bit and found myself looking for a mover two weeks before it was time to move, during the busiest moving time in the city. I Unilocaled (of course) to see who to call. I tried a few other places with good ratings, and their minimum and truck size were way more than I needed for a small move. Then Unilocal lead me to M&M.
I spoke with Marcin and he could fit me in the following week on a weekday, for a reasonable price. Score! The move went so smooth I couldn’t actually believe it. They were even a little early, and got my 1 bedroom apartment moved in only a few hours. Everything made it without any damage, and Marcin and his crew were so nice and polite. I would definitely recommend M&M to anyone and would definitely use them for my next move, whenever that is…

I’m probably the only reviewer here who hasn’t actually hired M&M for a move, but I can explain: we had decided to hire M&M but had to change plans and M&M handled the situation very professionally. We realized after committing to M&M that their initial moving plan was not going to work for us; Marcin responded to our concerns by reorganizing his schedule to try to fit our needs, and was very understanding when we had to change the plan entirely and go with a different company.

Respectful, punctual, and extremely efficient. Not a single item was damaged or broken — including a carton of fresh eggs which made it safely. They were accommodating with last minute changes. In arranging details, they were responsive with emails and calls — always professional. If we had any gripe at all, their prices could be slightly more competitive. However, all around it was a great experience.

You don’t want to work for me. I’m the worst customer because I’m a high maintenance cheap O, who is extremely paranoid with my belongings. I am an unprepared, demanding, over-​the-​shoulder control freak, who wants the best full service God has, BUT I don’t want to pay for it. It takes a miracle to completely make me feel like my money was well spent because I got a bargain for the best service, but that was how M & M Moving made me feel.
Marcin Papla and his partner are two very classy gentlemen. I called half a dozen places before I had the great fortune of speaking to Marcin, the owner of M & M Moving. Other movers nickled and dime me and they weren’t even licensed (which was important to me). Marcin, on the other hand, was not only licensed but his quote was the most competitive. I had difficulty booking a mover, since it was at the end of the month, but Marcin worked me into his schedule and around his other appointments.
He was unfortunately prompt because he showed up to a big mess. I wasn’t even half packed because I miscalculated the number of boxes I would need, but he didn’t say a word. He and his dad just patiently helped me, even supplied me with additional boxes (one was a wardrobe box) without charge. I was hoping to move things myself to cut down costs, but never got around to it because I was too busy over-​stuffing the boxes I did have, but Marcin and his partner never once peeped a word about the extra items (as heavy as they were) and just professionally moved my stuff out of one building and up 5 flights of stairs into my new apt.
They were quick and they honored their flat rate and didn’t charge me extra for the time they had to sit in their moving truck until I could figure out what else to move. They even told me to take my time.
My boyfriend was so impressed, he tipped them a third of our moving cost and we still got a bargain compared to the other movers. M & M Moving is the best! You won’t want another mover after you’ve tried them. Good Luck!!!

I first found M&M Moving through a tear-​away ad in my local laundromat. I haven’t looked back since! They have moved me 3 times and I recommended them to my grandmother when she moved as well. I have been thrilled with their services every time.
I have some difficult, heavy furniture to move and they always manage to make things work, and always with a positive, professional attitude. They also move quickly. I couldn’t believe how fast they loaded the truck! Also, their rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend these wonderful, kind, efficient and professional movers!
