JPR Plumbing and Heating

I called JPR Plumbing to fix a leaking whole-​house filter and install a new touchless faucet in my kitchen sink (a customer-​supplied Moen faucet). Justin responded to my inquiry promptly and was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Will hire again and would recommend to others.

Justin went above and beyond and came out to fix our leaking toilet the next day. What he thought would be a quick fix turned out to be more complicated due to some poor work by a crappy plumber our contractor had used a few years ago. We weren’t surprised since other things that guy did had failed. It was something Justin had not seen before in 20 plus years of plumbing (that’s how badly the first plumber did it) but Justin is creative and really seems to think on his feet and so he figured out a way to fix the problem. He worked quickly and was great at explaining things as he went along which I like. He cleaned up perfectly and his price was very fair. He was a very pleasant guy who is from and still lives in Newton, so close by if we need him again. All in all, great service.

In short, I recommend Justin without reservation…
He has come to our house x 2 now… both to replace a leaking toilet and to replace a broken hot water heater. In both instances, he responded to our original request immediately, and came out to our home the very next day. He is a true skilled craftsman who worked hard to fix the shoddy quality of the work done before him. In completing both jobs, he improved the quality of our home & did sound work that will now last for years to come.
He is professional, courteous, and reliable. I recommend him to anyone looking for quality service.

I was referred to Justin by another plumber when a pipe broke in my mom’s basement. Since I was calling from California I hugely appreciated Justin’s willingness to help and his professionalism. He went to the house, assessed the situation, called me back with what was needed and the price and it was all quickly taken care of.
A week later and I had to call Justin again to replace the hot water heater. Throughout it all, the calls and consultation, I found Justin to be responsible as if it were his own house. I would highly recommend Justin for any plumbing work, whether you get to work with him in person or from 3000 miles away!

I highly recommend JPR Plumbing. I didn’t have to leave a message; Justin picked up the phone when I called. He was able to make an appointment with no delay and diagnosed and fixed the problem readily. He also is up to date on plumbing developments and new equipment and systems. It’s nice to have such a reliable «go to» plumber.

I called Justin because my heating system stop working in the middle of of the night. He was really good about coming last minute and actually did a good job. It took Justin 3.5 — 4 hours over the course of 2 days to figure out what was wrong and to fix it.
My problem was how much he charged me for the amount of work. Justin claims that this is an easy job and he learnt to do this during the second year of his career. I do not doubt how great Justin is as a plumber and heating person. Justin charged me $ 388 for parts and $ 1000 for labor. He still haven’t provide the receipts to justify the parts (I don’t actually have a problem paying for the parts) and couldn’t really understand why I was charged $ 1000 for 3.5 — 4 hours of «easy» labor.
Again, I don’t have a problem with how good he was at what he do. I think he is great at what he do. Just haven’t figure out why anyone would want to pay that labor cost.
Please prepare or atleast shop around if you could!

I hired JPR Plumbing based on reviews on Unilocal,and also on his website. I called him and left a message with what I needed. He (Justin) called me back one day later, and we made an appointment for about one week out, which was fine. The day of the appointment, he was running a bit late, but he called to let me know, which was really great and practically no one does anymore and he was really only 15 minutes late so that was no big deal. He seemed a bit shy, but he handled the job very well and cleaned up great. Then he told me the price, and I was really floored!!! He itemized the bill, so the price for the part was fine (I looked it up online) but he charged me $ 300 for only one hour’s work, and it was not that difficult a job. I never in my wildest dreams expected a rate that high which was why I didn’t even ask him what his rate was when I called. I do not live in a big, fancy house or own a big, fancy car, so it was clear I wasn’t rich or anything. Then, there was trouble with his credit card machine, and he was getting mad at the machine, and he kept pushing me for a check, but one of the main reasons I hired him was because I couldn’t afford to write a check, and his website clearly states he accepts credit cards. The credit card machine finally worked. So, overall I think he does very good work, but his labor rates are way too expensive for me. This is really a shame, as I have other small to medium plumbing projects I will get to eventually when I have more money and I just can’t afford his labor rate so will have to find yet another new plumber.

JPR has done numerous jobs for our home; big and small. They show up on time, do excellent work, respect our property, and clean up after themselves. They are knowledgeable and explain what needs to be done (or not) and why. Uses materials and the appliance that are right for the job and built to last. Bills are itemized so no guess work for us.

Floor drain was backing-​up and I noticed JPR Plumbing’s truck in our parking lot as they were working on a neighbor’s condo unit. I approached JPR Plumbing with the drain issue and Justin immediately dropped everything to take a look at the problem. When Justin finished the job he was working on he went to work to clear the problem.
Justin was persistent, figured out the problem and resolved it. Justin is a great resource to keep in your book of service providers. He is very polite, courteous and extremely knowledgeable, capable and dependable. I highly recommend JPR Plumbing & Heating

Small, routine, simple jobs are a-​ok and service is responsive, but don’t expect it to handle large jobs and don’t expect it to troubleshoot issues very well.
After using its service for small jobs on a number of properties like changing the washer for toilet, clogged sink, I’ve let it take on a large project of replacing radiators with baseboard, and to replace two boilers. It’s a mistake. Work was 96% fine, but that last 4% was like pulling teeth. The new boilers are top of the line, but the plumber has no idea how to tune it. I ended up having to hire another plumber to troubleshoot, only to find out that the hot and cold water feed to the boilers were reversed, that’s why the boilers kept resetting itself and I kept getting alerts from the new boilers. I thought this diagnosis should have been fairly easy to identify. No matter, I gave up on JPR after he came back the third time and the symptoms were still there.

Hi, please be aware that this company is particular about the products they use. I called to learn about the cost & scheduling availability to replace a broken water heater. We were not a match for the job because JPR does not install «big box» (GE, Rheem, Whirlpool, etc) appliances under warranty — Professional grade only. Thanks!

I woke yesterday to no heat in the first floor of my home. I called a series of plumbers and Justin was quick to call back and was at my house within a couple of hours.
He resolved the problem (thermostat) but went above and beyond by giving me advice on the life of my water heater (he left to get a programmable thermostat and during the time away had consulted with 3 people about the water heater). He also gave me suggestions about my kitchen faucet and shower fixtures.
Finally, Justin called to check back the next morning to see how everything was working, which I really appreciated.
Not the cheapest rates around but I’m guessing are normal for the area. All in all, I will definitely use Justin again in a heartbeat — he gets customer service.

I called at 11:00 he told me he’d call me at 1 and let me know if he could make it today. He called at noon and the job was done by 12:30. Such an honest nice guy. Prompt, hardworking, and nice. Will never use anyone else. (Side note– I was given a quote for $ 700 from another company– he did it for under $ 200). Def will use them for all my plumbing needs.

I cannot give enough praise to JPR Plumbing about putting me at ease and getting my emergency issue resolved in as timely a manner as possible.
After returning from a trip, we found our pipes had frozen. Then 30 minutes later (around midnight), the meter and valve cracked and water was gushing everywhere. Throughout the next hour, I called 4 different plumbing companies and emergency numbers. However, none of my calls were returned.
Frustrated and just wanting professional help, I finally found JPR Plumbing’s number and within 5 minutes, my voicemail was returned by Justin. Despite probably being woken up, he was sympathetic and talked me through all the possible scenarios. He listened and respected me from the start. No assumptions (since I’m a woman) that I didn’t even try to turn off the water. After coming to the conclusion that I needed to call the city to get our water shut off, he still offered to come over to see if there was anything he could do. I declined, feeling confident he had put me on the right path.
Things could’ve ended there and I would’ve been grateful for JPR’s help. Instead, the next morning, Justin gave me a call just to make sure everything had been resolved. He was so genuine and concerned about whether everything had turned out alright.
I definitely know who I will be turning to for all my future plumbing needs.

JPR Plumbing really goes above and beyond. I can’t say enough about this place. If you live in the area and need a plumber, JPR Plumbing is the place to call!
After a deep freeze, my apartment went through bursting pipe hell. The first pipe burst on a Saturday afternoon, and I called a number of other plumbers, including the one I regularly use, and was told either that they were too busy to fit me in, or they didn’t work on weekends. Finally I found JPR Plumbing, and even though I was a new customer, Justin was at the apartment within an hour to fix the problem.
Over the next few days more pipes burst throughout the house, and Justin would always answer the phone when I called, and would give me a realistic estimate of when he could be there to fix the problem. He even showed up at midnight one night when I called him about water pouring down from the ceiling!
He and his employees worked quickly and efficiently, and I couldn’t be happier with their work. He even brought dog treats and toys for my two little dogs!
I’ll definitely call JPR for any plumbing work in the future!
