Sticky, bad carpet and horrid customer service I strongly recommend that you purchase your carpets elsewhere. I had an issue with a bad rug that I purchased from them, but it was the unprofessional interactions and failure to address the situation by the owner that is truly at the heart of my 1 star rating. I purchased an area rug remnant, something i have done in the past from other stores. when i got it home and put it down, i immediately noticed that after stepping on the rug and walking around and then stepping back onto my hard wood floors, my shoes made sticky sounds on the wood floor. I wondered if I was mistaken, so I tested it– repeatedly! important to note is that I live in a shoe free house, so the shoes I used everytime for the test have never been outside, no residue, no nothing. But, more important with my experiment is that I would go to my room, move my feet up and down in place on the wood with no sticky sound. then, i would walk across the rug, do a lap, and return to the wood floor, do the same up and down with my feet., now producing the sticky sound and feeling. I called and the store and talked to Joe. It is at this point that I feel like I was on the equivalent of a bad, expensive date… I thought we were on the same page, but then he never called back. Basically, I explained the situation. As the rug is 9×12 and was under all of my furniture at that, he(i thought) kindly offered to come over, assuring me that if it wasn’t that next day, he would call to schedule something within the next couple of days. well, a week passed with no call. so, i called and this time talked to Danny who said he would call Joe as soon as we hung up to schedule something and assured me that he would be out within the next couple of days.(sound familiar). Surprise, surprise, a week passed with no call. At this point I called and reached Joe who told me he was doing me a favor by coming out, which is not much of a favor if he never calls back or comes. i expressed my frustration about the rug and that I really just want to return it at this point. he got defensive, tried to blame it on something in my car getting on it when i brought it home. i explained that this would not be possible or it would only be on the very outside layer and i stressed that the stickiness is on every spot of the carpet. so, he changed his story and said, «well, you’ve had it for weeks! how can I know that you did not do something to it!» to which I angrily reminded him that I had been calling him about the problem for weeks, from the moment I put it down. he said i could wait for him to come out or i could bring it in, that either way he needed to evaluate it and that he would«take care of me.» which makes total sense, but not if there is no follow through to do this on his end. we ended our call. I pulled the rug up and decided that i wanted him to come to the house as i didn’t feel he would be able to duplicate the problem if he was stepping from bad carpet to carpet instead of bad carpet to wood. i called back, got the machine, and explained this asking him to call me to schedule a time to come out. that was two weeks and 2 days ago. guess who i have never heard back from? so happy to be stuck with a big, crap carpet and out $ 200.
