Just let me say, Newton Audi is truly the best dealer I have ever Leased a car from! I’ve been leasing for over 20 years! My Salesman Jay is simply amazing! This is my 2^nd Audi TT Roadster I’ve leased through them! The 2015 I just leased, I had a hard time finding one! Jay searched the country and brought it in from Chicago! They also gave me the price I was looking for! He put a big effort into getting me this car! I purchased a 2015 Audi A3 in December from Audi Newton. I worked with Jay Law and found him to be very responsive and was willing to work around my hectic year-​end work schedule. There was no high pressure from Jay or Audi Newton. Jay was extremely professional and respectul and that is the reason I purchased the automobile from Audi Newton, an hour from my home. Jay and Audi Newton worked with me to get the best price for the automobile. I received my plates and registration on time. Everyone at Audi Newton was pleasant and easy to work with. I highly recommend Audi Newton.

I purchased a 2010 pre-​owned Audio A5 Convertible in 2013. I traded in an almost new Volkswagen CC. Boy was that stupid.
Despite being told by the salesperson that getting the car pre-​certified would cover anything up to 100,000 miles, that was not quite true. The first day I owned it, on my way to the office a few days later, the rear driver’s side tire blew. I was unable to get the wheel loosened and finally Audi service came out from Saddle River to assist. (I’m about 6’1″, 200+ lb s and have never been in a situation where I couldn’t change a blown tire.)
After sitting on the side of the road for an hour in the middle of nowhere, I got to watch the Audi tech hammer the wheel with a rubber mallet for a good 15 minutes before he — not a small guy either — could loosen the tire enough to put the replacement donut on. Clearly the wheels, brakes and such had not been checked much less rotated during the pre-​certification process just a few days earlier. But to my brakes a little later…
When I bought the car, the owner told me that anytime I needed a loaner, just to call and the dealership would bring a loaner to me at my home and pick up my car, then reverse the process once repairs were completed. Let’s just say a loaner was almost never available and when it was, it was usually a heavily used, smoked in, dirty service car. The latter is not really a huge issue, but says a lot about the dealership. The dealer I use now put me into a brand new S4 and most recently into a brand new A8 when I required service and has a loaner available in less than a week. But I digress.
A few months later (less than half a year of owning it) I took the car in for a service — the add oil light kept coming on regularly, far more often than should, indicating an oil consumption test was needed. (The Audi has no dipstick, so the oil level is entirely digital.)
While I was there, the service department told me that I also needed new brakes. Around $ 1600 in parts and labor. When I asked how it was possible that a car I owned for less than a year and was supposed to be pre-​certified needed new brakes? I was told that it just depends on driving style. (Note that the VW CC has an almost identical engine and performance as this Audi and I drove that for two years and had more than ²⁄₃ of the brakes remaining when I traded it in.) I complained to Audi USA and while they were super nice and engaged with the dealership, not much came of it.
Meanwhile, I refinanced the car and, as part of the process, cancelled my gap insurance. It took almost six months and numerous letters, unanswered messages and finally visits to the dealership in person to finally get the refund check for the difference. It also took involvement from Audi USA again, who called the dealership and sent several letters.
I took the car to another dealership for the brake service. Well, I tried. When I got there for my appointment, they told me the warranty had expired. Digging deeper, Audi Newton had never entered my pre-​certified extended warranty into the system.
This would also explain why the tire blew and its companion was worn severely when I took delivery, and why the brakes were nearly gone so quickly: Newton most likely never actually did what is required for a pre-​certification, figuring it was easier to pay to fix any problems within the two years of the warranty (something else I was never told up front — it’s a 100,000 OR two-​year warranty.) Only after I started having problems, got suspicious and spoke with Audi USA, was I actually sent a printed copy of the terms of the pre-​certification program.
As the engine oil warning continued to get worse (I was pouring a quart of synthetic into the car per the electric warning system’s guidance about once a week), I finally was able to complete the two-​part oil consumption test and found out that apparently I needed a new engine. Thankfully that was covered under warranty (less a $ 85 deductible they also forgot to mention).
I took the car in to get the engine replaced. After about two weeks I got the car back. While they had it, they also discovered a problem with the Turbo, which they replaced. I wasn’t thrilled that this could happen to a pre-​certified car I now owned just over a year, but thankful that it was under warranty.
Less than two months later I was on the way back from Newark airport and my engine started making a very loud clanking/​shuddering sound, pretty much anytime I went over 35 MPH. I very slowly ended up driving the car to Saddle River, where Jack Daniels Audi told me that I needed a new engine and new turbo almost right away. I told them that I had just had the same thing done by Audi Newton, not even three months earlier.
Jack Daniels fixed my car in just under a week and I’ve had no problems with it since then. In short — do NOT buy any car or take your car for service to this dealership.

Always friendly service on my VW. Nice waiting room and free shuttle to local shops while you wait for car to be serviced. Also gave me a great deal on my new SUV.

Horrible service. Dealership is open but refuses to sell parts (just needed oil and filter to leave on a cross country road trip with my tdi). Suggested I try an auto parts store (they don’t sell the VW spec oil required for the car). What a great way to satisfy customers. Would give zero stars if I could.

I am so sorry I didn’t check Unilocal before buying a car from this dealership. If you are a smart consumer and are reading this before deciding on a dealership — BELIEVE all the negative reviews re Audi Newton you’ve read here on Unilocal. Audi Newton is a TERRIBLE dealership! I bought an Audi A8 there in Dec 2013. It was the most expensive car I’ve ever owned and I’m living through the worst buying experience I’ve ever had. RUN SCREAMING from Audi Newton — they will lie to you, not return your calls or emails and ruin all joy in buying a nice new car. No less than three of their salesmen told me my new Audi A8 didn’t come with an owner’s manual — ridiculous. I had to work with Audi of America to finally get the manuals. Now I’m trying to get the permanent plates — I’m afraid this might be a battle as well. Please do yourself a favor and use another dealership to purchase an Audi or VW — I wish I had.

Bought a 2010 Audi Q7 from here. After reading the reviews I was nervous but my sales person, Ryan was great from start to finish. The car needed the rims to be polished, there were marks from where the previous driver had hit the curb. This was scheduled to be done after I already had the car. Service was great, they performed the work quickly and gave me a rental car for the couple of hours that it took. All in all I would refer them to others.

My husband and I purchased an Audi TT from this dealership in 2009 or 10. In 2011, we sold it, as we moved to Philadelphia, where a car with four wheels in not necessary, because public transportation is a fantastic option.
On the afternoon of 09−13−13 I received an unsolicited phone call from a man who works at this dealership, who said to me: «I want to sell your husband an Audi from us» I said, «we no longer drive four-​wheeled cars, as we live in Philadelphia, we now ride scooters. why are you calling me?» He said, «I want to talk to HIM. HE bought an Audi from us three years ago and now I want to sell him another one» I said «I already told you that we sold the Audi and now ride scooters»
He said «Ha! How does he get around? on a TRACTOR!!!» His tone in everything he said to me was RUDE and CONDESCENDING.
I hung up on him. I do NOT appreciate the unsolicited hard sell. I was annoyed and offended by his condescending tone, trying to boss me around and I DO NOT appreciate him ridiculing our Vespa scooters. Something tells me that this Audi DOUCHEBAG would not have spoken to a man in this fashion. Is he a mysogynistic piece of fecal matter? Probably.

All you’ve read is true and then some. Bought a new Audi q5 in March. Temporary registration was due to expire and I got no satisfaction from contacts with dealership. The sales manager was always «with a customer». What about me? Don’t I count after buying from them? If not for my salesman, I’d still have no registration.
Bottom Line: waited for 5 weeks for new car registration to arrive in mail but did not. Called dealer and asked where it was as I only had 5 days left till temporary expired. No manager ever called me back. only the salesman (who was the only positive member of this dealership). The reply from the management was «what are you worried about, we’ll pay the tickets». I.E. Go break the law and we’ll pay the fines. Really? Bad enough but not the end of the story. The salesman went on his day off (last day of temporary registration) and went to motor vehicle and got the permanent for us.
I should also point out that we traded in a 2 year old Hyundai Santa Fe for the new Audi. This transaction occurred on May 12^th. with all papers signed. At end of June, I get a call from the banks’ collection department that had the loan on the Hyundai stating that we were 5 weeks late on our payment and loan was in collections. In other words, the paperwork was never sent through to the bank. After more phone calls than I care to think about, with no return calls from ANY sales manager, I called Audi Corporation itself. Only after they got involved did a manager call me back. He said he didn’t know what happened to the check that was sent to the bank. Yeah, the old «my dog ate my homework». Remember, this was not my first issue with this dealerships’ lack of follow through never mind their complete lack of any sense of urgency. After each call to contact a manager, I was always told, «he’s with a customer». What am I chopped liver?
Very long story short… the bank finally got the check JULY 16^th (2 months after the trade-​in occurred). I’ve still gotten no assurance from the bank that my wife’s credit (car was in her name and had an 850 credit rating at time of sale) was not affected and that they (Valley National Bank) would check to see if any changes were made to her credit. I’ve already received paperwork from N.J. Division of Consumer Affairs as I will be sending in a formal complaint. I’ve bought and sold cars for nearly 50 years and have NEVER been treated so poorly and with such lack of concern on the part of any car dealership I’ve EVER DEALT WITH… and that’s going some! Stear clear of Audi Newton. I very rarely write reviews positive or negative but I felt obligated to write this one and hope someone’s listening. P. S. We love our Q5 but will have it serviced elsewhere. I wouldn’t give them another dime of my money (nor should you!)

I would give this place a zero star rating if Unilocal let me. Stay far away from this place. I read the awful customer reviews and decided to do business with them anyway because they were able to give me the best offer I could find in the tri-​state area for a trade in from my Audi 2010 A4 to an Audi 2013 A4. I thought the $ savings would far outweigh any inconveniences I might encounter with the dealership. I even drove out of my way 1.5 hours to get myself to the dealership. Boy, was I wrong about the $ pros outweighing any cons…
The dealership had agreed to buyout my old trade in vehicle but they didn’t make the payment for nearly a month past the due date. I had to call Audi financial services to make sure that the newton dealership didn’t mess up my credit score for missing a scheduled payment. Fine. No harm no foul. Right? Wrong. It was an indication of more annoying events to come…
After I drove out of my way to give their dealership a chance, they couldn’t even prepare for the fact that I’d need two plate brackets since I’d be registering in NY. The front bracket was missing, which I pointed out at the dealership. They promptly replied that the parts department just closed and reassured me that they’d overnight mail me one as soon as it opened the following Monday. Fine. No problem. Now this is where it gets ridiculous. I must’ve exchanged 6 phone calls with my salesman (Tyler B.) and just as many emails. Each time, he assured me he either sent it («oh it must’ve gotten lost in the mail») or that he will be sending it soon. Empty promises. Their salesmen can be personable, sure. but they just tell you what you want to hear so that you can get off the phone with him. Give their words little weight.
Now you might ask why I’m so fixated on the bracket and why I don’t just go out and buy one. I refuse to buy it elsewhere because Audi Newton PROMISED to deliver. It’s about the principle and business etiquette. Especially if I’m making you thousands of dollars in profit.
I even spoke to Tyler’s manager about his need to follow through on his promises and they CLAIMED to have had a serious talk with him, but either they lied to me too or my salesman just doesn’t care. So I’ve been driving around illegally for the last 1.5 months because I’m missing my front plate brackets. Haha.
I think this dealership is ridiculous. Stay far far away. If they can’t even deliver on a small promise of mailing you a piece of your car, how many bigger mistakes are they making behind the scenes? Save yourself the aggravation and go find another dealership.

Update 07/​05/​2013: I called a different dealership and asked about the plate brackets. I found out that each bracket is $ 240, which is why I think Audi Newton is being so shady about sending me the bracket they promised they’d give me. It makes me even more mad!

I recently bought a car from them. After lots of research and negotiating a price. We finally verbally agreed to the terms of the car. If you have ever purchased a car you know after that they shove paper after paper in your face to sign. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized the terms on the contract were not what we agreed on. They added 15 dollars a month more over 63 months. When I called they said they would look into it and get back to me. No one ever called me back. I finally drove over there and they basically said you signed the contract. On top of that they gave me the car with half a tank of gas and needing a detailing inside. Also, after specifically asking about Bluetooth it turned out the car was not equipped with this feature. When asking about it the dealer said he didn’t know. There is really nothing good I can say about my experience at Audi Newton.

It is almost Aril 9^th 2013 and our temporary registration ended Jan 9^th. It will soon be 4 months with no current tags. We paid for the registration and licensing yet we get very poor customer service from the them.
When we call the sales manager Maro says, «you’re lucky I picked up the phone to talk to you.» When we try to talk to the girl in charge of DMV the secretary tell us «she said to tell you will just have to wait.»
I have never had such horrible service in 29 years of being an adult and conducting business. I don’t even like putting complaints online but the level of poor service motivated me. Hard to believe a business can operate like this and still get customers. They must just cycle through new customers constantly.

Be very careful with the service department here. I went with a 2004 Golf that had electrical problems with the doors, windows and airbag and was told they would have to take approx. 3 hours just to diagnose the problem. The quote with all potential labor and parts was close to approx. $ 1500.00. I said no thank you and took to a local mechanic for second opinion who switched a blown fuse for $ 25.00. I then called back to speak to the service dept. rep. that took care of me and never heard back. Never will I step foot in there again.
