Arthur Murray Newton

My wife and I travel a lot and have visited many Arthur Murray studios. We like the flexibility provided by Arthur Murray in letting us attend dance classes in any of their studios around the world and have been very impressed with the caliber of the dance teachers. We visited Arthur Murray in Boston the first time four years ago when we were practicing our Waltz for our daughter’s wedding. We took a couple of lessons with Boris and learned a lot of techniques. This year we are once again visiting Newtonville to spend some time with our grand kids and Boris has given us a warm welcome to his studio, so we can continue practicing our dancing. We find all the teachers very good and also a great set of students in their group classes.

My wife and I love this studio. Chris is a great dancer and excellent instructor. He made sure we were comfortable for our first dance at our wedding, and we’ve signed on for more lessons with him, going through the basics of rumba, waltz, foxtrot, tango, and cha-​cha. The facilities are excellent, and we love the group classes.

I’ve been a student of the studio since January 2014 and I’ve been incredibly impressed on so many levels. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how welcoming, bright and clean the facilities were – extremely well maintained. Next was the welcoming staff/​instructors; Boris, Bailey, Chris, Mark… everyone is so friendly and with good reason – they all LOVE what they do, they love to be at the studio, and it comes through in every bit of instruction, group class and care of the facility. In addition, this studio attracts a wide mix of people at all levels and the staff is incredibly adept at catering to ever style and level of ability. Whether you’ve never danced before, or you have been dancing for years, you will have a rich experience no matter what. I hear so many people in my life tell me «I’m no good at dancing… it’s not for me». That is why this place exists! My answer to them is, just come to the studio, they’ll take care of it from there :)
Finally, you will be instructed in every type of dance by some of the most fun and talented people in the industry. The Newton studio is a gem, and I encourage everyone to discover it!

My fiancé and I are getting married at the end of August 2014, so in July we started taking a few dance lessons at Arthur Murray Newton thinking we would just learn the basics and maybe a few other nice moves for the first dance. It turns out in a span of two months we did all of that and much, much more! We are now familiar with several dances such as the Waltz, Samba, ChaCha, Swing and Tango and we feel especially confident in the Rumba which is for our first dance. The instructors are very knowledgable and patient, but they also challenge you just enough to improve your skills each time you go to a class. Coming to class after work is such a great stress relief that we have decided to continue taking dance classes even after our wedding.
I would highly recommend taking dance lessons here to any couple looking to learn, to brush up or to improve dance skills. Worth every penny!
