Needed a last minute haircut for my daughter and Christine was nice enough to make time. She was very sweet and did an excellent job. My daughter has gotten lots of compliments. Thanks!

I followed Shelli-​Rose from her salon in Cambridge because she is, by far, the best hair stylist I have had in many years. I have thick, wavy/​curly hair that I used to struggle to enjoy wearing naturally, especially short. It was too poofy, or too triangular, or too wispy, or too layered, or too heavy, or too difficult to maintain between cuts. Shelli-​Rose is really, really good at giving me a cut that looks good, is easy for me to wear, and grows out very well. Other women with similar hair ask me all the time who cuts my hair. Shelli-​Rose listens to my preferences and requests, but unlike other stylists I have had, she doesn’t need me to bug her or tell her multiple times what to pay attention to — I can just let her do her thing. At the end, I am almost always extremely happy. Once or twice over several years of haircuts, I realized once I got home that there was something off about the result (this happened during my pregnancy, when my hair was changing a lot). Of course, that situation is not fun, but she saw me within a day or two, immediately understood what was bothering me, and fixed it so that I was totally happy. With respect to the salon, Station Row is a very nice salon, and I have had good experiences there. I also like how light it is.

Shelli-​Rose is the ABSOLUTE BEST! So, without question, I followed her from a salon in Cambridge to Station Row.
Let me begin by saying that I am incredibly particular (I’ll even admit, mildly obsessive) about the way my hair looks. Since the age of 5, I cannot remember a time where I did not burst into tears as soon as I left a salon.
Then, 3 years ago, I found Shelli-​Rose, and she totally just gets it. She knows what I want even when I’m incapable of articulating it (and the end product is always even better than what I picture it will be). She understands hair type and what is most flattering (I have even come to let go a little and let her do what she thinks is best– something entirely unheard of for me).
And color… She is a color GENIUS! I don’t know how else to say it. I have been coloring my hair for 18 years and she is, far and away, the best colorist to ever touch my head. She listens, she knows how to care for the hair so that the color doesn’t damage it, and the color always looks natural.
It was a total no-​brainer to follow her to her new salon.

Christine H. does an amazing job cutting my hair. I have not been able to find anyone else in the area who does a better job. I would highly recommend her to guys looking for a great haircut.

Due to a move I needed to find a new salon and stylist after going to the same stylist for 25 years. Not an easy task and a bit anxiety provoking. After looking at the reviews on Unilocal I decided to give Station Row a try. Just got home from my appointment for cut, color, highlights and style with Shelli-​rose. She was great! Will definitely be going back!

Station Row is a very clean and elegant salon. Christine Herbst cut my hair and did a fabulous job! I went in desiring a big change in my hairstyle– from below the shoulder length hair to chin length (nervous) but she gave me a very thorough and practical consultation and took her time while cutting to ensure every strand of hair was perfect! I’m confident in my new short hair thanks to her! She also gave me good tips on how to handle and appreciate my hair in its natural form rather than feeling I always have to straighten it. I highly recommend her!

I went here for the first time last weekend on a quest for the perfect haircut. It has been years that I have had an image in my head but other salons were not able to deliver. Will Sweet was my stylist and I highly recommend him!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while, and I never write reviews… but I feel compelled to share just how great Christine is. She’s cut and highlighted my hair for over a year now. She is incredibly detail oriented and precise, and really takes pride in what she does. The last time she cut and colored my hair, I could not believe the positive feedback I received. I stopped in to grab lunch at a nearby restaurant, and a woman stopped me and said, «I have to ask… where do you get you hair done?» When I told her Station Row, she asked, «What’s the name of your stylist?» Next, when I got home, my mother in law (who was visiting from NY) couldn’t stop saying how much she liked it, and how she was going to have to book an appointment with Christine the next time she visited. The last positive feedback came at work on Monday. I can’t count how many people remarked about how good my hair looked. My boss just made another comment yesterday, and it’s been several weeks! Needless to say, Christine is great! I’m not surprised to see so many folks recommending her. I get a sense most of the stylists are really great there too, and nice as well. Clients seem pleased. And no one is too snobby or anything like that, which is often what you find at nice salons. All and all, I’ve found my go to salon and stylist after more than 5 years in the Boston area searching for one!

This place is wonderful! Christine did an amazing job on my hair and I immediately had complete trust in her. She was incredibly thorough and took her time. As someone coming from NYC, with the same stylist for 10 years, I’m a tough sell. She knocked it out of the park! And they have the same product (Oribe) as my old salon. So glad I tried and will definitely be a repeat customer!

I took a chance with William because I met him and he seemed like a great guy.
I was NOT disappointed. His attention to detail in cutting and coloring hair is like a scientist! In addition, he is timely and just a great guy! I highly recommend William.

I’ve seen Christine at Station Row several times to cut my hair and have always been happy with the results. When I started planning my wedding I asked her to do my hair for the event. The experience was great! We did a few trials and eventually decided on an undo. I loved how my hair looked on my wedding day and Christine is just so easy to work with. She was very professional and relaxed throughout the whole process which was great when I had so many other things to think about. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful formal hairstyle for an event.

Station Row has a relaxing atmosphere, and right when you walk in, the staff takes great care of you. I was offered hot tea while I waited and admired their unique modern design. Christine cut my hair and was so thorough and did exactly what I asked for! I left feeling like a new woman! Easily accessible parking across the street and in a very cute part of Newton. I’d recommend it!

Went back to Christine at Station Row for a total hair style change. She was open to all the pictures I showed her, she explained in detail about the style, upkeep and how to style before she even started cutting. I loved it! I felt informed and safe in going towards a way shorter extreme cut. I asked for an inverted bob and it is beautiful. Hopefully I can post pics of before and after on this! My hair had great swing, color and angel to it. She made me feel 10 years younger. What a treat to have someone who is so passionate about her job these days! Did I mention that she is the best styler also? I looked like I needed to go out on a hot date with my husband! I guarantee you will thank me later…

What a beautiful salon, love it. And their lemon ginger tea! Been several times for a trim, layers, 13 inch donation cut, AND now an updo. Christine Herbst is my favorite by far — although everyone I’ve met each time has been so nice. She is such a sweet soul, so so nice, great listener to detail, aaaand she is a PERFECTIONIST… like ME! :) I’ve been so pleased with everything she’s done so far and I love how honest she is with me. She’s very well-​rounded. I’m thankful I found this place and this lovely stylist. Can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!

Got to know the staff through a business relationship, which grew into a personal one. I would recommend anyone at the salon, but Christine Herbst was the one I entrusted with my hair and she did a great job of listening to the style I wanted and producing a great finished product. First hair cut I got there was right before an interview and got the job. My go-​to place when I need to look my best.

Station Row has a nice atmosphere. It’s bright, people are in a good mood, and the salon is always clean.
I’ve had my hair cut several times with stylist Christine Herbst. The first time I went in, I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to become, and she made it happen. And when I went back later on for another cut, Christine knew what I wanted before we even got started. She’s polite, very friendly, and like a magician with scissors. Be sure to ask her about Germany.
