Yea, this one’s the real deal. One day last fall, when my car was in the shop, I rode my bike down there looking for some wood filler. Wasn’t sure exactly what it was I needed, but once I explained what I was trying to do, the old fellow who runs the place took me right to it.

The most easily-accessible hardware store in Newport on Broadway Avenue in an old-timey building, it smells old and is not industrial and«user friendly» like a Home Depot would be. But when I walked in — I had trouble with the door that was probably three times as old as I am — the owner who runs the one-register operation took me right to what I needed and then cashed me out. It doesn’t have the hugest selection, but it will probably have what you need if you give it a chance. Plus it has personality, which is worth a lot in my book. They carry the Ace Hardware line of goods, to cage your expectations.
