Kabats Tree Service

I had Kabats cut down a tree next to a fence and in between my neighbor’s and our house. It was way too tricky to attempt to do myself, and I was honestly not sure how the heck they would take care of it. I was amused that they just came in with a boom and grab the tree from above and over the fence, cut the tree off, then lift the ENTIRE tree over the fence and carry it out in my yard along the street to safely cut up. Clearly, they use the right tools for the job. While they were there, I had them remove a large limb off a tree that was 20′+ in the air that was hanging over my house, with an outdoor hot tub directly underneath. There was NO WAY I was going to attempt that one myself either, and I’m glad I left it to the pros. They then arrived with a big wood chipper out on the street, ground up all the limbs and twigs (raking them up to disguise any sign they were ever there). Very good quality work — done on time. Bravo — I’ll use them for this kind of work from now on.

We have almost no work done on our house by anyone other than ourselves. So you can imagine my surprise when I came home and found the name and number of Kabats Tree Service on the counter. I thought my husband was going to rent a stump grinder and go at the tree stumps for a half day but apparently the place he went to no longer rents out stump grinders. They said that you can get a pro in to do it for the same cost of a rental and they gave us the number for Kabats.
Sure enough — It cost about the same as it does to rent one only the guy comes in with a huge machine that actually grinds the stumps down. The one we rented last time (about 7 years ago now…) took more of a «beat the stump to death» approach and it really didn’t work. Kind of a waste of money honestly.
So the guy from Kabats came over the same weekend we called. When he got there my husband had to tell him that there was actually one more stump than he thought and the guy just tacked a few more dollars on our bill and didn’t seem upset at all. He drove his grinder off the back of his trailer and had all four of our stumps ground in under an hour. It took my husband longer to clear away the wood chips than it did for the grinding to happen. Really fast.
So if you have some irritating tree stumps in your yard that need to go away I would say give these guys a call. Fast, friendly, professional and priced right. Can’t ask for anything more!
