A great little late Spring and Summer Outdoor bar that opens up in Covington and sits on the Ohio river with a great view of the downtown skyline. With drinks reminiscent of a tropical getaway and great service, all should be bound to have a good time, especially if visiting on a night where there is a live band on stage.

Located on the patio that separates Beer Sellar and Hooters, J.B. Fins creates a tropical cabana feel(well, sort of) during summertime along the Ohio River. Usually there’s a cover band rocking Jimmy Buffet or 80’s pop covers on a stage surrounded by ample dancing space. Neon polyurethane palm trees and servers in two-piece bathing suits complete the island-on-the-Ohio feel. When J.B. Fins opens on Memorial Day weekend, the place is usually packed any weekend night with decent weather. Other busy nights include Wednesdays(Party in the Park after-party crowd) and Reds’ games(shuttle runs to and from Great American Ballpark). The view from J.B. Fin’s deck is spectacular – a panoramic outlook of the Cincinnati rivershore – but this doesn’t compensate for the watered down, over-priced drinks. The crowd ranges from 21−40ish and the dress code is casual(though you will see girls dressed as if they were going clubbing). If you’re looking for an outdoor arena to enjoy a view of Cincinnati skyline, J.B. Fins is good(but crowded) option. Catch it while you can, from May through mid-September.
