Andrew always goes out of his way to see to it that everything is prefect. Love Markie. Service is always great. Awesome atmosphere. Love. Bartenders are all great.

I don’t know why the reviews are so bad, I’ve been here numerous times with friends and we have always loved our food! I had one bad experience with a waiter that forgot stuff/was very inattentive, but considering all my good experiences here, I’ll let that slide. :)

I love coming here before movies. If you come in on Mon-Thur they have a great happy hour from 5pm-7pm then you can hit up a movie after. The happy hour is 3.50 drafts(I typically go with a Guinness) 4.25 wines(try the Boom Boom) and 5.25 signature martinis(go classic with a Rat Pack). Check out the new patio overlooking the river when it’s nice out.

Omg! Gross! I see cockroaches and smell revolting aromas coming from the kitchen ALLDAYEVERYDAY! I would never recommend this establishment to anyone! The dirty linens I see can NOT come from a quality establishment! No kitchen I’ve EVER worked at had any substance that looks and smells like baby feces AND feta cheese. As a Professional Chef, I advise to avoid Bar Louie at all costs!

I’ve been here many, many times, so this review does not reflect an isolated experience. I come back again and again because I love their chicken nachos. They are just so good. The service is good enough. The drink selection is satisfactory. But gosh darn it– the nachos make my life.

Maybe it’s this location because I know they are in the process of adding on. That being said the atmosphere is pretty dull and I wasn’t at all impressed with my burger. My girlfriend had one of their flatbreads, she seemed to enjoy it. I’m the foodie of the couple so I’m snobby at times LOL In all honestly, a burger from McDonalds had more flavor than the one I ate from here. Drink prices aren’t bad, so come for happy hour and then peace out!

Went there for lunch today and food was okay, but the drink prices for beer were a higher than they should have been, especially compared to some of the other places. Service was okay as well.

We had some time to kill before a movie, so we decided to grab some food and drinks at Bar Louie. The sign at the entrance said to seat yourself, and we literally had to go alllll the way to the back of the place to find a table that was clean. We had just missed happy hour by about half an hour, but the deals looked really great. Opening the beer menu, I was pretty surprised(in a good way) by the options available. I excitedly ordered Madtree Identity Crisis, which isn’t available at many places. On to the menu: I got the brisket sliders. With moonshine peach barbecue sauce, a pear slaw, and a side of french fries, these sounded like they would hit the spot! I did ask the waitress why you must be 21 to order these, and she said she had no idea. I am over 21, but found it odd — even though the barbecue sauce was made with moonshine, the alcohol is usually cooked out of such foods. A few other questions about the menu made it clear the waitress either knew nothing about their food, was new, or just didn’t care. My sliders came out, and the brisket was super dry — like almost a jerky dry. There was very little sauce as well. The fries were also not terribly impressive — very oily and soft, not crisp. Overall, I was just not impressed with my visit to Bar Louie. I’d come back for a beer, but not for food. There are plenty of other options around if I’m hungry.

Went for dollar burger night ending up being bout 6 dollars for one burger due to each topping ranging from 50 cents to 75 cents for cheese or other toppings. We ordered a side of tator tots for almost 5 dollars which seemed a little steep for a side of tots. The food was okay nothing special just regular bar food. We sat at the bar thinking the service would go faster, service was mediocre and the staff took forever to bring our check.

Ok, I really love this place right before a movie at the AMC for thier mid-week drink specials and food specials. I have to admit that I have not been here for dinner, ever, but it seems every time we head to the movies we meet up here first! Bar Louie has a huge outdoor deck and is located right inside Newport on the Levee’s main building on the second floor. Their happy hours are amazing! The weekly deals are: Monday — Thursday, 5 p.m. — 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. — midnight Fridays, 5 p.m. — 7 p. m $ 3.25 Pint Drafts(20 Domestic & Imports to choose from) $ 4.25 House Wines $ 5.25 Specialty Martinis ½ priced select appetizers and flatbreads Beyond that, they have certain days that have their own special happenings: Tuesday is $ 1 Drafts Wednesday is $ 1 Burgers(not tiny little burgers, HUGE burgers that are actually incredibly delicious, and the toppigs are all add your own at your own cost… a Bacon Blue Burger with grilled onions came out to $ 4!!! WHAT?!!) The Martinis are also fantastic, and they have about 10 on special each weeknight. I wish I had a favorite, but I try a new one each time and they are all delicious and boozy. If you are looking for a place to meet up with friends on the Levee on a budget, but still want value, come here!

Just ate the awesome Verde Pork Street Taco. This is one of those meals that even after you are full, you have to finish it because it is so good. The rice and beans reminds me of eating in Costa Rica. Muy Bien.

The food is the only reason this place gets 2 stars. The food is pretty solid. Great tater tots, and when there are food specials, its worth going to just to eat. Having said that, the drinks are way overpriced and are not even remotely good. Being a bartender, I have a decent grasp on what should go and how much in a typical drink. I understand the need for Bar Louie’s take on classic drinks, but look at the ingredients you are putting in them. Also, price your menu drinks. There are no prices at all. When I ordered the margarita, that was less than acceptable, I learned that it was $ 10.00 Are you kidding me? Maybe if it had Patron, Cointreau, or even some Casadores or Casamigos in it. There has never been a hostess there when I have went(3 or 4 times). The staff ignores you until some manager looking person points you out and the servers do a rock-paper-scissors to see who gets stuck helping you. The only good part about the place itself is the outside seating they have and the outside bar. At least you are away from the pathetic excuse of service they have there. Bartenders in general are all stuck up and have a self righteous attitude. Being a woman myself, I would like to see some actual men behind the bar. Maybe the attitudes would get a little less dramatic. Dollar burger night, which I am sure you are aware of if you’ve read at least one review on here is a redemption for this place. They do add on if you get anything other than ketchup. if you want fries it will run you an extra $ 4.00 So i guess upsell dollar burger night should be the actual catch phrase. I sat at a table right beside the food output area and watched the cooks take burgers that were already cooked and soaking in water and place then on the grill really quick and then plate them. Not really my idea of fresh, but what can you expect for $ 1.00 If you have never been to this place and you are seriously contemplating, seriously don’t go. There are 100 other places you can go and get better service, atmosphere, and drinks.

went here with a group of girls last night and it was a great group spot. They have large tables, even on the patio. the patio and view alone are worth 5 stars. It was $ 1 burger night which most of the group took advantage of. definitely a great deal. I got the grapefruit martini. it was light and so good. The food appeared to be good so all around a decent choice for a casual night out or for grabbing a bite or a drink

Eh. I honestly don’t come here for the food. It’s generic chain restaurant food, which isn’t bad, but isn’t great either. we came on a Wednesday, which is dollar burger night. That makes it more worth it. You can add toppings for different prices as long as you order a drink. I came with friends to grab some food and drinks. They have a great view!!! It’s a great atmosphere for grabbing some drinks with friends. They have a lot of patio options, which is why we chose to come here. Great for groups.

I went to Bar Louie with a group of 7 tonight for my birthday. It was probably one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever had. First, we were sat at a dirty table. But whatever it happens. Then, our sodas were flat. Still, not a big deal. I ordered the peach lightning and it just tasted like peach water. Even after a not so great beginning, we were all fine. The service was absolutely horrendous though. Having been a server for many years, I can totally understand when they’re weeded but, that was not the case at all tonight. Our server, Scott I believe, was rude and unfriendly. I did not see him smile once. It was $ 1 burger night so we all ordered burgers and about 30 minutes later our food came out. He messed up two of our orders and also took one of my friends burgers to the wrong table. He did not apologize to her at all. He just said, «do you want them to make you another one?» My friend just cancelled her order. He still ended up charging her for her coke though(wtf). The top bun was as hard as a rock. I ordered tomatoes and onions on my burger, but he must’ve forgotten to add those on which is not that big of a deal. So I asked him if he could please bring them out when he got the chance. A few minutes later, he came back and asked me what I was missing. So, I told him again, tomatoes and onions. About 15 minutes goes by and I just see him walking around not doing anything. Everyone’s drinks are empty and I still don’t have my tomatoes and onions! So when he finally came to our table I asked him again and then he brings out a plate of lettuce and tomatoes and slams them down next to me without saying anything. At this point I was super annoyed. He came back about 5 minutes later and I told him that I had asked for onions(for about the 100th time) and he said rudely, «can’t you see that the kitchen…» and he just walked off. By the time I had finally gotten my correct toppings, we just wanted to get our checks and leave. Pretty damn disappointing. The only thing that was good were the tator tots.

Where do I begin on this train wreck of an evening at Bar Louie. We dined here on Valentine’s Day which was probably mistake #1. Upon walking in the greeter waved us away, telling us we could sit where ever we’d like. The problem was almost every table was dirty or occupied. When we finally did get seated we ordered drinks. One of the glasses was dirty with a huge piece of mint and the Coke we ordered was flat. The manager came over to apologize however, nothing about our experience improved. My friend asked for another salad to go with her meal yet it never came and another friend asked for more shells for his street tacos and they were never brought out. Bar Louie is clearly a chain with no real character and poor service to match. The short menu left much to be desired and this would certainly not be my first choice when looking to dine out in Newport.

I was hesitant to go to Bar Louie after reading so many not-so-good reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was casual and vibrant, and service was friendly and timely. No one complained about the food or drink. I had a Caesar salad, which was delivered without the grilled children I ordered. The problem was remedied without issue. The salad could be improved by adding some shaved Parmesan cheese, but it was still tasty. Others had various salads, soups, and pretzels – again, no real complaints. If you are going with a group, I suggest calling ahead. There were six of us who arrived at 8:00 P.M. on a Saturday night. We were kind of stuffed into a booth that was more appropriate for four, but it worked out.

Just stopped in for a couple of drinks since we were early for the movie we came to see. Marcus was engaging and professional. A great bartender. If the service is always as good and prompt as what we experienced than I am really looking forward to coming back to eat sometime! Only issue is the location. The only thing that ever brings me here is when the theater has the most convenient showing of a movie I want to see or my girlfriend wants to visit the aquarium. If I find my way back I’ll try some food and see if it’s as good as Marcus.

I have eaten at Bar Louie in Anaheim numerous times(now closed). This location is consistent. The food is much better than typical bar food. The ingredients are fresh and mixed in an interesting ways. The fries are better than most places. My Baked Mac and Cheese tasted great and was not too heavy. The service was fantastic. Bar Louie is consistently amazing in this regard. We were short of time to catch a movie so the server sped up the order without being overly attentive.

Dollar Burger Night on Wednesdays. They charge for each additional topping, but it still ends up worth it. My favorite has cheese, bacon, tomato, fresh jalepenos and guacamole. It’s probably the best burger I have ever had. Tuesdays are Dollar Domestic Drafts. Not little plastic cups, either. Actual regular sized glasses. Trust me; if you catch yourself at the Levee, stop by. You won’t regret it. You will probably even thank me. :)
