Horribly rude office staff (the British lady is super rude, and the other young ladies who keep changing like it’s a fast food place are even worse), non existent customer service, pretty crappy counseling experience. The only positive thing here was Dr. Joselito Morales, who is extremely professional and caring. I will miss him.
I did research on potentially good therapists for nothing. They gave me an appointment with whoever was available, in this case Dr. Barnes Parker. I did not like her. She was incredibly judgmental. She projected her religious beliefs on me, which I found totally alienating because I am not religious. She literally called people who hurt me godless, which made me feel terrible because they were religious, and I am an atheist. I did not feel comfortable with her at all, and she treated me horribly when I was unable to directly confront her about my doubts in her approach, which was the reason why I am getting treatment, so she of all people should understand!
Counseling sessions were full of platitudes and after a year of treatment all I got was nothing other than affirmations on how my behavior was always justifiable, and no hint or practical advice on dealing with things like depression or anxiety, except for one breathing exercise on the first session, when I literally insisted on getting practical advice. I got the impression that the strategy was to always agree with me so I would continue to go there. I got no growth or change at all from a year’s worth of weekly sessions.
Anyway, I decided I did not want to see her anymore, and the British lady called me and yelled at me and whined until she got me to schedule a final appointment, where I literally paid my copay just so I could sit down while Dr. Barnes Parker told me off and made me uncomfortable and generally showed her anger and frustration at me for daring to want a better fit. It got so ugly I ended up asking if we could continue our sessions because I just felt so pressured by her. To which she replied NO because she didn’t trust me! Mind you, this is the same aforementioned crappy therapist, the person who gave me no actual counsel except for perfunctory acknowledgements, who later got mad when I said it wasn’t working, made me pay for a horribly unpleasant last session that was all about how she was hurt, and then when she pressured me so much I gave up, she accused me of breaking her trust! I never thought a counselor would be so dramatic!
I am much better now, no thanks to Dr. Barnes-​Parker. She wasted my time and then treated me so badly when I was in a really vulnerable place, that I feel she actually made my depression worse. I blamed myself for this awful experience for a long time, until I got actual treatment and great counseling and my new counselor helped me realize that Dr. Barnes Parker had been totally unprofessional and completely incompetent.

After researching their website, I sched. an appt. for alcohol/​self injury abuse. There were several therapists who indicated this was in their expertise. 20 min. into my appt. Dr. Barnes-​Parker took me to see someone else… The Admin. Asst. for the office who proceeded to tell me that Dr. B-​P rejected me due to the issues I had written down. I was told they did not have alcohol related therapy. She suggested I find another therapy group. I burst into tears… it had taken me

Agree 100% with Jesse C. Could not seem to get a second appointment scheduled. The office either did not answer the phone, did not return calls, or did not write down the appointments that they scheduled. It’s a good thing I wasn’t in a serious crisis.

I have tried to give RLPG a chance. After continuous cancellations, unreachable administrative staff… I am switching to another group. The admin staff is so swamped that it makes it impossible to schedule an appointment. I have called 4 times this morning during their «business» hours, it sends me to to their after hours voicemail. I tried calling a couple months ago, and the same exact thing happened.
The therapists may be good but how could you possibly know if you can’t schedule an appointment.

I was referred here by my doctor. I called to make an appointment for the first time, and the receptionist (the lady with the English accent) informed me that their scheduling system was down, and said she’d take my number and call me back. However during this conversation, she sounded like I was being a complete inconvenience to her. Shockingly, I never heard back. I go to call back after not hearing back from them, and explained my situation and why I need to be seen. I spoke to the same English woman, and she was completely rude, dismissive, and condescending when I explained everything to her. If this is the way this entire practice is conducted, I’m certainly glad that the receptionist ran me off before I could make an appointment with anyone.
