I love going here on my lunch break! The food is very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. I always order the kids meal, which is a hefty portion of fresh mixed greens and a chicken kabob. The greens are topped with feta cheese and my all-time favorite lemon basil vinaigrette dressing. The chicken is always juicy and grilled to perfection. They definitely serve up healthy food that is so affordable! I am sad that this location will be closing as of May 31, 2015 considering I frequent this restaurant weekly, but I can’t wait to try the other location!

The one star is more for the service than the food. I ordered a sandwich and fries, which took them almost 30 minutes to make. When I complained after 20 minutes about the wait the manager threw his new cook under the bus, but refunded my money(for the food, but not the drink). As for the food, it was fair; no better than Daphne’s. The Gyro is bland and under cooked. The fries are nicely seasoned but soft. There are a lot of good choices in that food court, I’ll be choosing something else in the future.

I was excited to try something different at Fashion Island. Had the Bifteki and it went in tasting ok and went straight out to the toilet. Leaving work early now… :(

I like their chicken pitas, but its a little pricey for the mall. I don’t care for their hummus, because I don’t like cumin. I highly recommend their sun dried tomato salad… its delicious!

It was aiight. It tastes exactly like you think food court Greek food will taste. In fairness, it is a little better than Daphne’s. The falafel tasted weird. But the fries were nice and crispy. The greek mac and cheese was mushy, and bland. It sounds a lot better than it is. The hummus is on the slightly grainy and watery side. The chicken and pita are decent. You can definitely find much better Greek or mediterranean food elsewhere, but this is a decent option for this food court.

This one is in the atrium(food court) at fashion island. Maybe it’s just me or i’m biased but the food court food just isn’t the same as the actual food/restaurant locations. I’ve been to the thasos at bristol across from south coast plaza and that place does not disappoint. But I got the bifteki shwarma plate I’ve had at the other place and it isn’t the same. The fries aren’t as good either. If you’re on the go and you want some greek food I guess this is ok, but if you want the better experience go to the other one.

I just got reprimanded at my job due to the fact that I have spent the last 3.5 weeks sitting here silently, attempting to understand what 95% of the Unilocal users on this page are smoking to have inflated the rating of this place so much. To be blunt(no pun intended), Thasos should be renamed Thasucks and, because I’m a nice guy, I won’t even charge a fee for this rebranding work. For starters, the staff act as if they are apart of some super legion clique of fast food workers that are too high and mighty to bother interacting with the general public. I might as well have asked my questions in broken Swahili, as it would have been just as effective as getting a proper answer. You would have thought that I was asking the staff to recite the chemical compounds that make up the ingredients in each dish when I asked«what kind of rice do you serve?» Unsurprisingly, the food was just as terrible as the service. For starters, the pita bread tasted like it was cooked in an Easy Bake Oven that hasn’t been properly calibrated since«Rocket Power» aired on Nickelodeon. It’s truly unfortunate that there wasn’t a risky bank robbery in progress in the general vicinity, as I could have been a hero and used my stale pita bread as a flying saucer and/or boomerang to deter it. Next, if somebody can prove to me that my chicken was not previously apart of an expired Lean Cuisine entrée, I will literally eat my entire right knuckle on camera and post it on YouTube for your enjoyment. Because my food took a good 45 minutes to arrive, this simply befuddles me. In this amount of time, the employees should have went to Google and searched for«ways to make chicken taste at least somewhat mediocre» for tips and advice. To summarize the best way I can, if the play«Oliver» was real life and I was somehow transformed into a hungry orphan, I would rather throw out my meal than satisfy my hunger cravings.

I love this place so much. I don’t know why this place is never crowded like some of the other places in Atrium. Not that I’m complaining… Food is always freshly made, and comes out hot. I usually get the kids meal with gyro or salmon, and then salad as my side. You basically get a small salad with meat on it, and a little side of pita bread and yogurt sauce. Meat is well seasoned, and always cooked well.(I did see the photo of the undercooked chicken. I’ve never ordered the chicken before.) All that for like $ 5.50. And if you work in the mall they give you 10% off. Score!

My favorite Greek spot, even though it’s located in a food court. I always get the Gyro with Mac n cheese and fries and it’s only like $ 8! The employees are really friendly and remember my name and already know what I’m ordering which is nice. If your at Fashion Island shopping and feel like some great Greek food, go here!

This is one of my favorite things at the Sawdust festival and their restaurant is even better! The quality and authenticity is second to none I have found in Orange County if you know better let me know because I love Greek food! Met the owner Mike at all the locations and he somehow remembers my name. Very impressive. Overall just simple, fresh and filling Greek food!

When I saw the prices at Thasos, I was pretty happy — Greek food for under ten dollars a meal? Why not? Turns out, bad cooking is ‘why not’. The hummus was pretty tasty and no regrets on the Greek mac n’ cheese, but the falafel — my main course — was burned to an inedible, disgusting crisp. The texture was gritty and unpleasant, and someone used way too much garlic. Adding insult to injury, their tzatziki was was watery and flavorless, doing nothing to enhance(or, preferably, cover) the flavor of the falafel. My advice? The food court is right next to a Barnes and Noble. Pop on in and grab yourself a panini and soup. You’ll pay two or three dollars less and it will actually taste good.

Amazing authentic Greek(Mediterranean) food. Located in the Fashion Island Mall downstairs food court(next to Barnes & Noble) I never expected to have such great food! Ordered the Festival Platter for $ 8.95 completed with; Stuffed Grape Leaves, Hummus, Babagnoosh(eggplant, walnuts, olive oil, lemon juice) the chucks of roasted eggplant had a party in my mouth. Also included was warm sliced pita bread, olives, a spinach mixture with cheese paced inside pastry.fried. Also generous slices of fine mozzarella cheese… Oh forgot the platter also included yogurt, cucumber & garlic dip. Along with a small container of EVOO(Extra virgin olive oil). Low calorie, extremely healthy &UNDER $ 10.00. Amazing meal! Great service too!

I work across from Fashion Island so wanted something for about $ 10…went to the food court and noticed they had a greek place. Checked out the menu and at first wasn’t too impressed… was gonna just eat at Chik-fil-a…but then decided to try the lamb burger and boy, i’m glad it did! I thought because it being lamb, it would be greasy… however, this is very fresh, ground lamb and not a processed burger… so it was very good. I ask them to cook medium rare… seemed more medium but no worries. I got it with feta cheese instead of cheddar and I really did enjoy the fact that it was a healthy burger, very fresh. tasted good… I think a little to much arugula or whatever the green leafy veggie is on the burger… kinda hid the burger too much… i might as to go light on the next time. What really impressed me was the fries… and presentation. I thought when I ordered seasoned fries that they would be the same generic fries everyone else serves… but when I saw them, they looked great! They are season they also put a pepper and some sort of herb seasoning on them… so looks more appetizing and taste better. I will defiantly try this burger again… and all under $ 10.

Decently priced greek food from the food court. Something good and healthy(well it feels healthy) and not terrible. I got the chicken grilled, for here, and when I sat down to eat my food, I was so confused with how to eat it! I ended up using a fork and knife trying so hard to cut pieces and just making a huge mess. Overall I would have it again. I do love tzatziki sauce…

Poor customer service! Not surprised there were no customers in line… Walked past this place at about noon, asked the female worker at the register a question about the spinach pie/spanakopita,(she acted confused when I said spinach pie), and when she failed to answer, I repeated myself. I asked her again and she acted very rude, unprofessional, and immature. I guess good help and employees with good people skills are hard to find… Who knows what kind of training they give their workers, but I was very turned off by her bratty attitude and lost my appetite. I decided to go eat at South Coast Plaza instead after giving her a piece of my mind…

The short of it: — good Greek food — reasonably priced — located in the Fashion Island food court — fresh ingredients — Favs: Gyro pita bundle, Village salad with basil dressing, lemon chicken soup The long of it: This is one of my go to spots at the Fashion Island food court. It’s one of the healthier options at this food court. The ingredients always seem fresh and the food is really tasty. I normally order the gyro and make it a feast for $ 3 more and then that gives you 2 sides with your meal. The thing that is weird is they offer hummus as one of the sides but it makes no sense that they don’t give you pita for the hummus. It’s an extra charge. Other than that the best sides are the soup and salad. The portions here are huge as well! Definitely makes it worth it!

I’m such a huge fan of the other location in Costa Mesa, I was really happy to find a joint in Newport. After struggling to find a parking place at 11:15, I was hoping a nice gyro would ease my tension. I discovered this location is in a food court in the mall. I never knew this part of the mall even existed as I’m used to outdoor part on the other side. Lots of good food choices down here, but I was here for the gyro. I waited a long time for my order but that usually means fresh so that was okay. I ordered the platter with gyro and falafel, brown rice, salad and hummus. The salad, hummus and falafel were pretty good. I was disappointed in the gyro. No off-the-spit crust or crunch. Just the soft meat. It was okay, but I like the crust to add texture and flavor. The brown rice was terrible… more like a soaked Spanish rice. Not what I was hoping for…

I was really surprised by Thasos Greek Island Grille. This place is in the Fashion Island mall food court, but the Greek food is extremely high quality, with fresh ingredients, spices and the dishes are really tasty. I recommend you get the following dishes: Appetizer: Melitzanasalata– This is a Greek Eggplant dip, similar to Baba ghannouj, but its its made from roasted eggplant, tomatoes, walnuts, herbs and yogurt. Its creamy, zesty, roasted flavor goes great on the toasted pita bread. Lunch: The Greek Lamb Stew– WOW! All I can say is that this was one of the most hearty, tasty, and yummy lamb stews I have ever tasted. Growing up on middle eastern food, I have had lamb stew with vegetables all my life, but this dish really surprised me. It is made with lamb chunks(lean meat, not too much fat or grissle), carrots, celery, tomato sauce, spices and served over white rice. It is very similiar to «Lamb Korma» you find at Indian restaurants. Dessert: The Baklava is made with cinnamon, honey, walnuts, and its crunchy, dense, gooey, and dripping with the sticky honey coated sauces. Its very yummy and a great way to end your meal. Its hard finding a good Greek restaurant in OC, but this may be some of the best Greek food in Orange county. I will have to come back and try other dishes to get a better idea of the quality, but for now I am still shocked at how good this place is for being in the Fashion Island mall food court. I recommend you come here over all other restaurants in the food court for a great meal.

After the Christmas tree lighting ceremony(feels like it creeps up earlier every year…), my friend and I were starving and decided we’d eat at the food court. Thasos looked good since it was decently priced and looked pretty healthier than other options. I ended up getting the chicken souvlaki with the herbed rice and the herbed fries. Man their pita bread is sooo good! It was warm, soft, light… just all sorts of wonderful. Fries and the herbed rice were pretty good, but the gyro definitely won me over. Chicken was nicely cooked, right amt of tomatoes, tzatziki sauce. I think everything I ordered was under $ 10. And they had the daily special yesterday of a Calamari Burger, need to try that next time I’m around Fashion Island!
