History

Established in 1987.

Prasad Photography’s residential studio is situated in the coastal rolling hills of Southern California, adjacent to picturesque Upper Newport Back Bay. The atmosphere is one of comfort and artistic creativity.

In addition to our spacious indoor and outdoors studios, you will find portrait galleries, a make-​up room and a projection room, all equipped with top-​of-​the-​line, state of the art technology.

The comfortable environment of our residential studio makes it easy for children to relax and feel at home. We work by appointment only so we can devote undivided attention to you and your children.

Business Owner

Before opening his studio in 1987, Prasad worked in the performing arts field, including managing the photography department of a public television (PBS) station. He has photographed well-​known celebrities including Robert Redford, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Pavarotti and many others. Major exhibits of his portrait work have been displayed at interior design shows in Orange County and Palm Springs, as well as the Atrium Court in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, and Bowers Museum, Santa Ana.

One of Prasad’s most inspiring projects was a photographic exhibition titled «Hands of Compassion» produced for a world harmony conference for East West titled «Harmonia Mundi.» The exhibition focused on Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama of Tibet, two world spiritual leaders who have touched the lives of many on this planet and who have fully integrated love and compassion into their own lives. Both have received the Nobel peace prize.

Prasad and Maria are spectacular people to start off with. Their studio is incredibly welcoming, comfortable and peaceful. You will immediately feel like family.
Working with Prasad and Maria was an absolute pleasure. Prasad is high-​end photography and you’ll see that initially the moment you walk in. There are a lot of photographers around, especially in Southern California, but NONE of them are as good as Prasad Photography. They take photographs and turn them into art. They are both artistic, creative, passionate and incredibly skilled at what they do. I didn’t realize all of the facets to proper photography until our session. I didn’t realize how important lighting is for example, until that day but more until I received compliments about it.
My photographs are gorgeous, and it’s me. Of course I had make-​up done and my hair, but it looks like me. They walk the fine line of beauty, not overdoing with Photoshop unless you request for more to be done. They stick with the basics that are a must with professional lense and lighting. The entire session from beginning to the end when you go back to review the photographs, will blow your mind.
I can’t really put into words how exquisite their work is. If you’re in the area, I invite you to contact them and take a tour and sit down and talk to them. Once you see the photographs you will be sold and walk to work with them both.
I had a blast, it was fun, sassy and hysterical. They are the best!

We’ve had such wonderful experiences with Prasad and Maria! They are SO good with our children, who are now 5 and 2. They first photographed our son when he was just 1 year old, and have photographed him and now our daughter every year. The photos are amazing — they really capture our children’s personalities and spirits. It’s always such a wonderful experience and the photographs are absolutely priceless.
