I purchased two Groupons for this place on September 25, 2013 and was hoping to use it as a Sunday Funday activity. I’ve called their number numerous times and could never get a hold of anyone. Now if you dial their number, the call cannot even be completed! Such a bummer, because I’ve been looking forward to this for quite a while now.
If you have also purchased a Groupon for this place, it will say on your My Groupon account page that this Groupon has been cancelled. Request your refund ASAP!

Fun, safe, active workout on water! Our first time hydrobiking and what an experience! The bf is not so into water activities but he did this with me and enjoyed it too. At first we couldn’t find the office, but then I saw some hydrobikers riding and pointed to them and then a man who was from a catering service for a wedding on a boat pointed and showed me the way to the office (that was nice)! The small office is located on the backside by the bay. Felix was the guy who helped us out and was very friendly. There are single and double hydrobikes and with the bf a lil hesitant with water he quickly suggested that we take the double so we would stick together. (awww lolll). Not much instructions were given but its pretty common sense. Felix gave us a quick run down of the Balboa Bay and which side leads to where, which was helpful since it was our very first time. It’s nice that there’s a spot in the front of the bike to put ur belongings in such as my big ol purse and jackets. Easy access to ur phone so u can take pictures. We went at 3:30pm which was perfect because its cooled down a bit while the sun is still out. It was a beautiful day out today. Made the experience all the worth while.
Next stop, paddle boarding! :)

After writing a lengthy honest review, five months have passed. Today in my email I had a reply from Veronica (yes, FIVE MONTHS later) rationalizing the experience. She asked me to correct a time error — which I did. Our full hour was used — nothing extra, as the review states. I erroneously stated 30 minutes but our full hour WAS used — as my review stated — no extra time for sitting and waiting.
I highly recommend Long Beach Hydrobikes, my family has gone a few times, and it is well run. I take my Unilocal experience very seriously. I am proud of my elite status. I have given businesses a second chance, and added stars, a time or two, when asked by a manager. But in this case, customer service is not great. I updated to 2 stars, because I am not coming back.

I purchased a Groupon deal for a fun date idea to try with my bf. The location was tricky to find, so I recommend getting there 20min earlier to look for parking and find the tiny office. The staff was low-​key and friendly. Don’t bring any valuables as you’ll be leaving them in an office. But do bring a phone/​camera to take pics! The hydrobikes are very stable and you will not get wet (besides your feet) unless you were goofing around — massively.
The actual experience was okay. Neither my bf nor I felt it was very interesting/​exciting. It was a bit slow for us given the amount of paddling you have to do! But definitely peaceful and gives you a different view of the bay. I do recommend trying at least once, but that’s it for us.

Pacific Coast Hydrobikes is great! I found out about this place through Groupon, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The service here is outstanding. Although we were late for our appointment, the woman working there was very understanding and went out of her way to accommodate us. Hydrobiking may look strange, but it’s a ton of fun to bike on water and take in the sights around the Balboa Peninsula. I highly recommend this place!

Try Pacific Coast Hydrobikes and you will not regret it!!! The staff is really friendly and the experience was outstanding. The staff person on duty was extremely helpful with getting me and brother set up on the bikes. He was even really patient with us given that we ran back to the car to get our things because we weren’t sure if we could bring them. To our surprise, the bikes have a little storage section that you can store things (an added bonus that wasn’t expected). The staff person explained how to use the bike and was right there waiting for us when we returned to make sure that all went well. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so happy that we tried hydrobiking for the first time with Pacific Coast Hydrobikes – would definitely go back again.
I highly recommend it. What a wonderful experience from beginning to end!

Inexpensive fun. Hydrobikes are basically bicycles built to cruise the water. You peddle like a normal land bike, except the water does have quite a bit of resistance, so you go much slower. There is very little chance of falling off or getting totally soaked.
We called the morning we wanted to go and were told there was an opening in about an hour. Perfect, since we would have to drive a little ways in. They even called us back right afterwards to tell us of a 15-​minute delay! I figure most people wouldn’t bother with a 15-​minute delay and would probably just let us wait for 15 minutes, so I immediately knew the customer service was likely good.
Although I didn’t enjoy it as much as my companion, it was fun and is worth a try. I believe we paid $ 15 each for a one hour rental. I gave 3 stars for a generally enjoyable time and another for the good customer service.
Ask how to find the place when you call! The office is on the backside of a strip mall, so you can’t see it from the street. The lady who answered the phone said to look for a bookstore, that helped.

Pacific Coast Hydro-​Bikes was such a fun experience. It is a perfect spring/​summer activity. We got the two hydrobikes with the section for the kids to sit lay down in the middle. They had a total BLAST! An hour is more than enough time to cruise around the harbor and explore the waterways behind the houses.
Make sure to make reservations and wear sunscreen. They even have a compartment on the bike for your purse or if you want to pack a lunch. There is also cup holders! Also I recommend wearing shoes you don’t mind getting wet since your feet will go in the water.

This was a great experience! I took a group of 6^th graders to Pacific Coast Hydrobikes for an end of the year field trip. They loved it and the customer service was EXCELLENT.
I had read that the location was hard to find, so I made sure I went a few days before to find the office and make sure I knew where I was going to park. It’s not a problem at all. There is a huge parking structure right behind the dock area and as long as you can read addresses on buildings, you shouldn’t have a problem finding it.
They hadn’t started their summer hours yet, and the day we wanted to go they were closed. HOWEVER, with a guarantee of 8 participants and a small deposit they opened especially for us. So awesome, and friendly and accommodating.
I would absolutely recommend this business and experience. The only drawback was that one of my shorter 6^th graders had a tough time reaching the pedals. That’s when the tandem bike came in handy.

My bf purchased a Groupon to try this place out for a date idea. It was fun relaxing and biking around the harbor and enjoying the nice weather. We made it around about a third of the harbor and stared at houses that we would love to have or the funny names of their boats. The next day, we really felt the work out and my legs were pretty sore since we raced each other a few times. The staff is also nice and I felt safe going on the hydrobike, especially with the life vest.
I didn’t trust putting my goods in the storage area because it looked like there was water in mine, so I just stuffed my camera into my pocket.
The location of the office was really confusing to find, but it wasn’t too bad. Also, we parked in the garage and it was really close to the location.

I just tried hydrobiking yesterday for the first time. It was so much fun, and I agree with the other reviews about the very friendly service. It was a beautiful day, and hydrobiking in Newport Beach was an excellent way to spend the day. It is an excellent workout, too. I will definitely try it again, especially because of the reasonable price.

So we just tired this as well for the first time. Do call & make an appointment. We also bought the groupon and finally went. The office is a little hard to find but it faces the water and is a small door inside.
Veronica was working and was very patient & helped us get on & off the bikes. We had a BLAST!!! You just peddled. It was soo much fun, we’re ready to go again.
Service was great! Highly recommend it, something diff’t & fun & great way to enjoy the waters.
There is 2 slots to bring a drink & a compartment to put your stuff if you want.

Just tried this last weekend on Sunday with my sister and her husband and it was ALOT of fun! Felix, the guy who helped us was very friendly and nice. He came out and helped us get on the «bikes» and showed us how everything worked. He also told us which directions were good to go.
I definitely will be trying this again and all three of us already made plans to come back again! The service and experience were both outstanding!

Staff here are very professional and easy going. Prices are very reasonable and biking around the Newport harbor was a nice break during the day.

On a whim, my bf and I decided to check out hydrobiking after he saw it on groupon. I had never even heard of this before so I was super excited to try them.
The service was great! The guy who helped us was extremely friendly, offered us water and gave us the groupon price even though we hadn’t bought the groupon yet. He adjusted our seats and gave us a couple of tips on where to go and then we were off.
It really was so much fun just cruising around in the sun and looking at all the houses and boats. I’ll have to remember to pack some food next time for a picnic on the beach.

My favorite new water sport. Extremely friendly staff members and cheap affordable rates. The bikes have a cubby where you can put your clothes, phone, camera and also cupholders for your drinks. You can jump off the bike to swim in the ocean and it’s easy to get back on.

STAFF: Super friendly and nice!
HYDROBIKES: Def a fun new workout or pass time at the harbor. go with a group. bike has 2 cup holders and slot to put ur bag. go barefoot or wear water shoes.

Price– very affordable. For 20 bucks i got good exercise, a great tan, and had a great experience.
In the beginning I thought there was going to be a learning curve on riding these bikes. The hydrobikes are very stable and you wont fall off unless your doing somethin stupid. The only thing you really have to do is pedal, just like a regular bicycle. Turning is a little tricky, but I only had to make one real turn. There are cup holders on the bikes also. My advice is to bring your headphones and bike on the ocean. I would recommend to friends and family.

Had a brilliant time on this hydrobike and i cant even swim! Great way to spend a sunset pedaling by beautiful houses, giant boats and friendly people.
