OC Lifesmiles – John Cross, DDS

Do not trust them!
I did a lot of dental work at this place. I trusted them 100% and now I regret. They used all my insurance on my gums cleaning. Later I was told by my school dentist that my gum did not have any problem. By the time I visited OC lifesmile, I had a lot of dental works needed to be done and I could not afford all of them. So I asked the dentist which one is more urgent to start with. They told me that I need to do deep cleaning on my gums otherwise I might get some sever gum disease (I was checked by our school cryogenist a month earlier and had no problem by that time). I was so frightened by the pictures of the disease which they used to make me scared enough to agree. Even if I told them that I had recently done my general cleaning at school, the cryogenist made me to do it again by telling me that we do it in a different way. Once it was done, I noticed its exactly the same type of cleaning and I ended up doing two time general cleaning in one month. The cryogenist did some test on my gums and told me that two quarters of my gum need deep cleaning and the rest is okay. when I visited them later to do the deep cleaning, another cryogenist told me all four parts need deep cleaning without even doing any test. She was so tough about it hat even if I asked her to start with those two quarters, she refused and told me there is no difference between them and all are at the same priority. Eventually I ended up using all my insurance limits and paying a large amount out of my pocket for some unnecessary work, while having lots of serious decays and cavities needed to be treated by a dentist. I still don’t know why they did that to me since I was ready to let them do my dental work which was beneficial for both of us. I guess their cryogenist was less busy than their dentist or they make more profit out of cleaning work. Anyway, I suggest you not to go there. if you really wanna go, don’t trust them. Never ask them which work is more urgent since their reply wouldn’t be based on what is better for your health, but it would be based on what is better for their pocket.

Dr. Cross is a great dentist ⁵⁄₅ stars. He has a great backhand on the tennis court and has a great taste of music.

Dr. Cross and his team are amazing! My availability is pretty scarce and I wanted an 8am appointment before work. I scheduled an appointment for a few weeks out and asked them to call me if they ended up having a cancellation. I received a call just a couple of weeks later letting me know they had a cancellation and were able to see me the next day if I was able. This might have been the first time a doctor actually called when there was a cancellation — and it was much appreciated!
The front office staff was great, and the dental assistants I’ve had each time I’ve gone have been really nice and helpful as well. Dr. Cross himself is very patient, communicative, and thorough. I had a veneer redone on a tooth a few years back from an accident I had as a child (Side note: It’s not very wise to dive into three feet of water), and I wasn’t happy with the way it looked. This was my front tooth, so I was a little self conscious about the way it was contoured and chipped. Dr. Cross did a fantastic job fixing it up, and I’m much happier with the way it looks again!

I just went to this dentist this morning for a chipped tooth and they were honestly fantastic. They have a really nice office, great receptionist and Dr Cross is really pleasant and charming. I will definitely be making this my dentist because it was such a pleasant experience. I suggest everyone try this place out!

Hands down the best dentist! I had a full set of veneers and the entire experience went smoothly and my teeth look amazing. The staff is not only knowledgeable but always welcoming and cheerful. Love OC Lifesmiles and now because of Dr. Cross and the wonderful girls here, my two daughters like going to the dentist. Hurray!

I moved here from Minnesota leaving behind the dentist I went to my whole life. Before OC Lifesmiles I tried two other dentists in Orange County. I won’t name any names but one rhymes with Bright Now dental off Harbor blvd (oops) and I was thoroughly disappointed. Some coworkers recommended me here and I love it. The staff is great, everyone is friendly and has a good sense of humor. They always run on time which I appreciate. Tiffany is awesome! She cleans teeth like a boss. Dr. Cross is great too, nice guy easy to talk with, gave me my favorite filling so far. They didn’t try to up sell me and replace my one silver filling (which I acquired at my first California dentist) like my previous dentist did as it is structurally intact and has a few years of life left. Very honest and straightforward. 5 stars hands down. Don’t change anything.

I have been going to Dr. Cross for well over 10 years. Dr. Cross and his staff are always on time. The office is beautifully decorated and he uses the latest technical equipment. My teeth are in excellent condition, although they were not when I first started seeing him. When I had an emergency he saw me the same day. You can’t find a better dentist than Dr. Cross.

I was recommended to go to Dr. Cross’ office, OC Lifesmiles, by some good friends of mine. I hate the dentist and I was nervous to get back in the chair. Dr. Cross and associates made my visit very painless. The atmosphere in their office made me feel very comfortable. This office is very clean and presentable with nice chairs and equipment. I’m glad I found a dentist that I can trust. This office operates efficiently from the receptionists and dental assistants to Dr. Cross himself. I will be going to this dentist office as long as I live in the Orange County Area.

Dr. Cross, his staff, operation, and dental skills are exemplary. 7 years and they’ve always performed high quality dentistry for a fair price, since I pay cash. Highly highly recommend this outfit.

Trish Has been cleaning my teeth for the past five years! I usually hate going to get my teeth cleaned but she is so gentle and warm that I actually don’t mind it now:) the office and the people that work there are so warm and friendly! I have referred all of my friends and my boyfriend here and they all love the office and Trish as well! Next time you need your teeth cleaned ask for Trish:)

I’ve been putting off crucial dental work for over 10 years as I have an extreme fear of the dentist. I finally worked up enough courage to schedule an appointment with OC LifeSMiles to see what they could offer me in regards to my fears. Not only is their staff Grade A, but they were able to sedate me during my procedures to ensure that my fears were demolished and that I was more than comfortable. I am so impressed with this dental office that I would instantly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new dentist. Their kind hearts and expertise in dental work is truly one of a kind! My husband and I both enjoy the convenience of the location, the friendly office and the expertise of Dr. Cross. I have had my teeth cleaned by Trish for years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I don’t understand the unfriendly review. No one intended for the fire to happen. It caused a great deal of inconvenience for everyone but the office is now as good as new. OC Lifesmiles was up and running as soon as the repairs were done and, if you have ever experienced smoke damage, you would not have wanted to be there any sooner.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. Once they charged me the total amount of the work to be done, they had no interest in seeing me again, even though the work was only half done. They used excuses like a fire in the building. They are mean, heartless people who refused to let me make an appointment and they hung up on me once I acquiesced to their aversion to me. They lied about all my attempts to come in. Its a scam. I paid $ 500.00 for teeth whitening and only received half and no trays to take home. During my first visit, they had me lean back to put the upper tray in, the paste oozed down my throat as gravity kept it from remaining in the tray, which made me wonder if they have ever done this before. Surely one should be sitting up straight for that procedure. I could only stand 2 of the four treatments on my first visit, and the doc said no problem, just come back and we will finish and make the trays. But the front desk was not on board. They asked if I wanted any other procedures and I did not, so since they were not getting any more money from me, they (Kristine and Casey) were rude, mean and refused to make another appointment. I was so upset, I threatened to sue, and then they allowed a new appointment, but I was so upset I said forget it (in tears) and they hung up on me. I am sure they are happy, they got my money and they don’t have to finish the promised treatment.
I urge you never step foot in their office. don’t believe them, don’t be duped as I was.
