This entire office is a class act! Christie and Mercedes were extremely human, helpful, and patient with the insurance and scheduling. Christie especially, was extra helpful and understanding.
Dr. Pene explained everything in detail before, during and after the procedure; and honestly, it was painless and nothing! He’s a pro, and I felt completely at ease. His assistants are kind and professional and I left with a big smile!
Their prices are highly competitive, so don’t mess around. Go directly to the top!

One more doctor I can vouch for: Dr. Pene. He went into great length explaining what possible outcomes and my options are. Couldn’t be happier.

I found the office of Dr. Cavalieri to be professional; his office staff is excellent as were his assistants, Erica and Peggy. He is an exceptional Endodontist in practice for more than 30 years. Rather than perform a root canal he and his staff evaluated me and determined that it would not be necessary. I found his professionalism to be exceptional and his work ethic outstanding. Unbelievable experience. I literally fell asleep during my root canal with Dr. Buonchristiani! I was in and out in 1 hour and felt absolutely nothing. I’ve had bad experiences before with root canals but now I look at them like I look at getting a filling! If you want to have no pain, a friendly staff, and a great rest of your day then go to Dr. B!

I was referred by my dentist to come here for my root canal procedure. I’m such a wuss when it comes to these kinds of procedures but sure enough Dr. Pene and his staff made me feel very comfortable.
His staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They were thorough with explaining the consultation process, document signing and the billing. Dr. Pene himself was professional, great bedside manner, honest, and just a cool person! During the treatment he explained everything from beginning, middle, to end! Straight to the point kind of stuff. He advised me what his plans were and what he was going to do. During the procedure, he explained in detail what he was doing. When we were done he took the final picture of the end result and explained in detail what he did! It was nice to have someone that detailed :)
As far as billing and payments… There were no surprises. I knew how much the insurance was going to cover and how much would be coming out of my own pocket. If anyone is is in doubt with the costs and how much the insurance is going to cover, patients should check with their dental insurance company and ensure that the quote that Newport Endodotic Group provides is well understood and/​or patients should have record of the quote (s).
Anyway, I was more than satisfied! Thank you Dr. Pene and staff!

Went to Dr Pene for a root canal. He was alright but not any different than any other root canal Dr I have used. The problem I have with this Dr is their billing and costs. They charge much more than any other root canal Dr I have used. In addition we raised a concern that I had multiple x-​rays of the tooth and did not want another one. They indicated that it would not cost us anything for the x-​ray. They charged us the correct amount for the services given what my insurance company would pay without the x-​ray. Later on they came back and tried to bill us for the additoinal amount eventhough they agreed it would not be charged. All around not worth the money for the Newport Beach based Dr. and I feel their eithics are in question. There are many other more qualified Dr.‘s that charge less and do go back on their word.
