We specialize in one on one dog care. All Newport Beach Dog Walking and Care Clients are seen individually. We do not walk your dog with any other clients. Special needs pets are welcome. Discounts given for Vacation visits over 4 days. Your first meet and greet visit is free. If we cannot help you with your Newport Beach Dog Walking or Cat Care needs we will refer you to a bonded and insured dog walker or Cat sitter in the area. Pet taxi service to groomers and local vets is available.

History

Established in 2007.

After spending years working for fortune 500 companies in Las Vegas, Nevada I moved to Newport Beach, Ca. I left a job as a pharmaceutical/​veterinary representative in Las Vegas and went about finding my new career. Due to my passion for pets my decision to open my own dog walking & cat care business was easy. I started New​port​beach​dog​walk​ing​.com in 2007. I started my journey by doing a internship at a no cage boarding facility in Orange County. It was there I found my nitch in business. Many of the dogs that were there stayed close to the kennel and it was obvious they were not comfortable. I decided then to cater my business to walking dogs 1on1 and doing multiple visits a day for those pets who’s owner’s are on vacation.

I grew up in Las Vegas, where my family had a grain and pet food store. My grandmother was part of the roughriders and my father was always involved in the Helldorado Parade. My parent bred German Shepherds and Miniture Poodels. I have been around animals my entire life. Upon high school graduation I attended and graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Ca. I worked in the medical field for over 10 years in Las Vegas. In 1991 I moved to Newport Beach with a job with Pfizer. I Left Pfizer for a real estate company renting out vacation homes around the US. In 2007 I opened up Newport Beach Dog Walking. I started off just doing mid-​day walks and my business expanded to pet taxi, and covering clients pets while they away by visiting up to three times a day.

My husband and I were traveling in our motorhome and staying in Newport Beach while seeing the sights. I «Googled» pet walking and found Michelle. She was very prompt in returning my call and scheduled to meet me at our RV resort as soon as we arrived. Michelle fed and walked our dogs several times during our visit. She was EXTREMELY professional and a good communicator. I can’t recommend her enough! She was loving and kind to the dogs and even sent pictures or videos on every visit. Her prices were very reasonable. She followed our instructions perfectly. Our dogs have a new friend and I will use Michelle any time we are in the area!

I have been using Michelle when we go out of town for the past few years. We just love her. She is so good to our pets. She sends us pictures videos and any updates when she’s there. It’s nice not having to put our pets in a kennel while we’re away. I would highly recommend her and will continue to use her services!

We have been using Michelle’s service for about two years, and she has been amazing! Before ever watching our cat, she made sure to stop by our place to meet me. She sat down with me and my cat for over an hour and let us get to know her and what she does.
Every time we go out of town, Michelle makes sure to send us updates on our cat and even pictures. She even texts to make sure we arrive home safely to make care our cat is getting taken care of. It is comforting to know she cares about the well being of our cat so much. I know our cat appreciates Michelle’s care as well because it prevents him from going to a kennel.
I definitely recommend Michelle, and we will never use any other service or kennel our cat!

After reading a lot of different reviews online, we decided to hire Michelle from Newport Beach Dog Walking to come by our house once a day to take care of our 2 dogs while we traveled to the East Coast. I am SO glad that we did!
Michelle is incredibly professional, kind, friendly, and on top of things. She brought over contracts for us to complete, did an initial consultation with us /​met our dogs. While we were gone, she brought in our mail, dealt with our nosy neighbor, cleaned up our doggy potty pads, walked our dogs, fed them, and played with them. She also sent us daily text updates and a few videos of them so we knew how they were doing.
I am SO sad that we are moving and will no longer be able to use her service, but she gave us some excellent recommendations for pet services in our new neighborhood.
I HIGHLY recommend Michelle if you are looking for a pet sitter.

During my first interaction with Michelle, she was extremely friendly, outgoing, honest and easy to talk to. My (now) husband and I went out of state to get married and then honeymoon, mostly gone for 3 weeks. We have two cats who are very used to getting attention, and I am always very anxious about leaving them even for just a weekend. Michelle takes the time to meet with you and meet your animals before you leave town. While gone, she sent us texts and pictures of our kitties with updates. When we got home, the cats were not only happy and content (did not show they were mad at all!!!), but our home was just as clean as when we left. She not only took care of their physical needs, it was obvious she made sure they weren’t depressed/​anxious with our absence. I also learned upon returning that we had been wrongly accused with a nasty note of hitting the car of a neighbor (which was false since we were in Michigan at the time), and Michelle not only called them on her own and sorted it out, she waited to tell me until I got back so I didn’t stress. She is reliable, trustworthy and has a gift with animals. I hope she is able to watch our kitties in the future whenever we need it. I’ve never felt so relaxed leaving them as I did knowing they were in Michelle’s care.

My wife & I are traveling from LA to Newport Beach this weekend for a wedding & are bringing our Cavalier, Lucy. She always goes with us when we travel. We have to attend the rehearsal dinner on Friday night & the wedding on Saturday. After reading the great reviews that Michelle has received, I decided to contact Newport Beach Dog Walking to see if they could assist us. After speaking with her, I felt comfortable knowing that she cares & loves animals. She gave me a few phone numbers to call since she wasn’t available & told me to call her back if I didn’t find anyone. I called her this morning & she said that she would come by our hotel to watch & walk her. We haven’t met her as of yet, but I know that she will be amazing! It’s comforting to know that even though this is a one time gig, she has accommodated me. I look forward to meeting her & if we ever need her assistance in the future, I know that she’ll bend backwards to help.

We called Michelle in a bind over the 4th of July weekend. She answered the call on the 2nd ring, and came over same day to meet our dog (no charge) she then brought over a contract that protected all parties. She brought over insurance and I instantly handed her a key to our home to walk our first born. I received a text photo every walk and Charlie loves her. Highly recommend and will use her exclusively moving forward.

I’ve been using Newport Beach Dog Walking for about two months. At the time I contacted them I had previously called other companies that offered the same services and was turned off by their lack of professionalism over the phone. I travel often and sometimes on short notice. When I contacted Newport Beach I was preparing for an emergency trip leaving the next day. They were friendly, curteous and professional over the phone. Someone was able to meet me the same day that I called to meet us. This was my first time using a company like this and I was anxious about how my dog would respond. I received text updates the whole time I was away and have recieved the same excellent service each time I have called them since. And seeing now how my dog responds to them, I know she’s in good hands when I can’t be with her.

Michelle is hands down the BEST walker/​sitter on the face of the earth! I’ve used her for the past year. She even took care of my babies (Clyde 6yo pit mix and Olivia 3yo German Shepherd mix) while we were out of town for 10 days over Thanksgiving.
She e-​mailed us every day to let us know how things were going. And when they were barking too long during a particularly windy night, she cam over and sat with them. When they chewed up my table (they were rescues, what can I say) she bought them extra bones.
Michelle is flexible and very conscious of their needs.

All I can say is awesome. At the initial meetup Michelle is very complete with everything that can happen to your furries while «mom/​dad» is away.
She is very wiling to work with any schedule. I was not sure the dates I would be out of town until several days before and she was ready .
I got an email everyday on how things were going with my boys at home, from their business matters to their mood and eating rituals.
