I LOVE this yoga studio! I moved here 5 months ago and began the hunt for a new gym. I was dismayed by the overcrowded chain gyms and the saturation of hot yoga (which I don’t like at all). I was skeptical about joining a place that only did yoga, as my previous experiences with yoga left me feeling like I needed more cardio — it was always a nice stretch, but I needed an actual workout. This is not the case with Mixx! The HIIT intervals between yoga poses make sure you get your heart rate up! You never leave feeling like you need to go for a run. And the instructors are AMAZING! Not only are the phenomenal at yoga, they’re genuinely nice people that care about their clients and their health. If you’re looking for a new workout — try out Mixx!

Great yoga studio, they combine yoga with HIIT to give you a great workout. The instructors are all very friendly and chilled, but will push and encourage you to get you the best results. They also offer standard yoga classes. They offer a variety of levels for everyone. Great studio and great instructors!

MIxx yoga challenges me in the best way! Prior to MIxx, I could not do a half moon pose without a block and didn’t know how to incorporate flexibility, cardio, and relaxation (at the end) into one routine. I enjoy pushing my body and feel stronger after every class. I’m also sore after every class, which makes me feel like I’ve had a hard workout haha. The instructors are also amazing, and they stay after class to get to know you and hear your feedback.

I loved teacher Sahara and the attention she gives to the clients. Only one of the girls in the front desk was not very friendly however she was not the only person there and everyone else was great.

Amazing class! Such friendly instructors and so welcoming for all levels! Would love to come to back!

I signed up with a membership and after a job change their schedule no longer fits on a regular basis, so I need to cancel my reoccurring payment before i get charged again
I’ve left 4 messages and spoke with a receptionist who couldn’t relay my message properly so here I am relying on Unilocal to get their attention
Aside from the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, I would like to say Sahara’s classes are AMAZING. I wish I could take them but can’t wth my schedule. I also am so disgusted by the customer service, who knows if I’ll even come back

I’m naturally super flexible but very weak in the core and upper body. I’ve never actually been overweight – just extremely weak. My problem is that I HATE exercise, especially cardio. I’ve paid for normal gyms, dabbled into mixed martial arts, etc, but nothing could keep my attention. Like hiding a pill in a spoonful of ice cream, Mixx disguises exercise in a way that even I can find palatable. I am in the best shape of my life thanks to them!
The class levels range from totally doable to omg why. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner. Modifications on poses are spewed out to prevent injuries. The most effective classes for me personally are, duh, Mixx Yoga (for all levels or levels 2 – 3). Basically the classes consist of mostly yoga sequences interlaced with 3 sessions of high intensity cardio. It’s a little different from your yoga studio in that they play music to match: slow, relaxing songs for yoga sequences and fun, loud ones for cardio. It’s like you’re at a club where everyone’s dressed in yoga gear. Pretty cool if you ask me. Each class ends by slowly leading you back to the original purpose you came – cultivating the health of your body and mind. I like!
Don’t forget that the instructors all have their individual ‘flavors’. Mitra’s classes are intense/​exciting, Paula’s classes are intense/​romantic, Sahara’s classes are challenging/​eclectic, and the list goes on. Basically, if you don’t like your first class, try as many instructors as possible. Everyone is super welcoming and will make you feel like you’re at home.
I wonder if the classes can integrate more foreign music. The cardio portions would pair well with some Kpop or Pop Latino. Hee.

My cousin and I had so much fun taking a MixxYoga class from by the instructor Sahara. I’m trying to get back in shape so I took a class called gentle yoga and it was perfect for me! Sahara was really bubbly and friendly. She told me the history of the studio. It was founded and owned by Mitra, a neuroscientist at UCI who wants to empower and inspire people (especially women) to reach their fitness goals as well as their goals and aspirations in life.
I would love to come back to MixxYoga! The instruction and practice was such a good match for me.
You can see this on their websites but some options are a one-​month unlimited pass ($ 120), 5 sessions for $ 90 (which expires in 6 weeks), or the every month unlimited pass for $ 99 monthly (keep checking the website in case these rates change). You can always get a single-​class pass for $ 20, which is good to start with to try the class. Your first week right after your first class can be free if you post on social media. Go to your first class when you have a free week after. I was traveling out of town the week after my first class and didn’t get to benefit from the promotion. Come 15 minutes to the first class to fill out some basic info on their iPads. The parking lot can be jammed so definitely be ready to park a little ways away.
It looks like a great studio, definitely go check it out!

This yoga studio is a diamond in the rough!
The best part about it is that they offer more than just yoga. They have a variety of classes at different levels. Some classes include cardio, which is awesome if you are looking for a good workout. There are flow classes which are also great, as well as gentle sessions. I appreciate gentle classes when my anxiety is high. They’re also great if you haven’t worked out in awhile, and you are getting back into the swing of things.
What I love about Mixx is that I’m actually improving, and I’m always SO EXCITED for my next class. Also, when you do a high intensity Mixx class, you don’t leave the session feeling like you still need to go out and run a few miles (that’s how I always felt after doing hot yoga).
The instructors are so nice, educated and caring. They are so welcoming that you automatically feel like you’re apart of a little family. I HIGHLY recommend Mixx to everyone. Yoga is amazing for your body and your mind. It helps relieve stress and anxiety, and can get you in the best shape of your life if you keep up with the practice. ALSO, recently they began offering Mom & Baby classes which I think is unique. My friend just had a baby and I know she would love that interaction.
I realize after re-​reading my post that I sound like a saleswoman, but that’s just how much I LOVE MIXX! :)

I can’t say enough good things about Mixx yoga and the community of people who attend the studio! It feels more like a good group of friends who come together and you will immediately feel like you belong there. The variety of classes and the instructors are really what attracted me to this studio:
–Variety of Classes: The mixx class for all levels is perfect for getting your heart rate up with cardio intervals while still incorporating yoga into the class. The gentle yoga is great for flexibility, stretching and winding down after a long day. The vinyasa flow class is a good pace for if you are looking for something faster than gentle but without all the cardio of the mixx.
–Instructors: I have never been to a studio where ALL of the instructors are fantastic! They make you feel welcome when you walk-​in, motivate you during classes and are very receptive to feedback you may have. Mitra is great at mindfulness/​breathing techniques, practicing good form in classes and monitoring the class to make sure we understand. Jade’s classes are challenging and will make you break a sweat but are a GREAT workout. Kalila’s energy is contagious and fun and always unexpected. Paula is great at explaining and painting a picture of what you are striving to accomplish in each class and her gentle and mixx are equally as great. Sahara has variety in her class where it feels like a balanced workout and when you leave you will feel refreshed.

5 stars. I practice yoga 4 – 6 times a week and have been so fortunate to practice all over. With the help of Unilocal,I found myself in a Vinyasa flow class with Sahara George. I was greeted by Mitra and felt immediately at home. The first word that came to my mind when I met Mitra and Sahara was. badass. Excuse my non-​yogi language, but. these women are badass scientists that are well rounded, kind, and amazing individuals. A yoga studio is only as good as its teachers. This is my go to studio when I’m in town.
3 reasons why to choose Mixx:
1) Passionate, knowledgeable teachers. I happened to be the only person in the class and Sahara was so generous with her time. She customized our flow to compliment my yoga practice. Sahara could have cancelled the class but instead saw an opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise. What a gift!
2) The studio is a wonderful space and radiates a great vibe.
3) Classes are diverse and open to students of all levels.
They offer a free week of unlimited yoga. No excuses, just give it a try!

I go through phases in my life. Sometimes I feel like I can just go and go and go and go, like everyone else pretends to do, but then you just burn out! And if I haven’t been to Mixx for too long, it shows. I’m talking about how Mixx has a way of carrying over calmness for DAYS after a practice. I’ve felt it spill over into my work. As a student for years, I’m confident saying that Mixx is the type of class that will NEVER be the same as the last. It’s a fusion class that will work you in ways that you didn’t know you were capable of. One day you’re boxing, the next you can be doing ballet jumps. Legs. Legs. Back. Arms. Abs. Gluteus medius. Obliques. Did I say legs? All of it. And always great energy– no drama or BS. This is the one family I know I can always turn back to.
Oh, and did I mention there are burpees happening in these classes? Get your cardio on, yo. All body weight training– all you need is your mat. Namaste.

I’ll start off by saying that I’m somewhat flexible and athletic. I heard about Mixx yoga from a friend and, when they mentioned HIIT (high intensity interval training) cardio along with yoga, I automatically thought it was a great mix. (See what I did there?)
I took a normal, «Mixx Yoga» class which consisted of cycles of HIIT and yoga. Now this was one of the first times I’ve done yoga, and wow was it a workout.
Some things I liked about this class —
1) I got a proper warm up. I’ve taken yoga maybe a couple times before, but if you’ve played sports or anything competitively you should know how important it is to warm your body up before really pushing it.
2) My heart rate was constantly elevated, I felt my heart pumping out of my chest EVEN during the yoga portions. Trying to hold certain poses AFTER doing some cardio was definitely a workout by itself.
3) Proper «cool down.» Next to warming up, I think cooling down is just as important after a workout.
After taking one class I could say this place is LEGIT! Will definitely come back for more!

I love this place! I heard about it when there was a Unilocal Fit Club here, which I wasn’t able to attend, but I was curious to see what the Mixx was all about. I felt so welcomed as soon as I signed up for my free week here.
My first class was with Jade in their signature Mixx Yoga class. It’s a mix of yoga and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Basically, you have a little warm up similar to a circuit, then you do some yoga, then another cardio portion back. This occurs for 3 cardio portions and ends with stretching and shavasana. Each class is an hour long. It’s such a great structure that the class goes by fast you hardly know you’re even working out! I’ve taken most of my classes with Mitra, who is the owner of the yoga studio. I found out through reading about her that she’s an actual doctor and studied neuroscience, so not only does she know the spiritual side of yoga and fitness, but the biological and chemical aspect of it as well. I love taking her classes because she’s so fit and healthy, it really motivates you to do the same to get fab abs like hers!
The instructors are really engaging and encouraging. I even did a handstand without freaking out for the first time thanks to the guidance of Mitra. It was amazing!
There’s one bathroom here but no showers or mirrors. It’s a small studio, intimate in the best way possible.
I highly recommend everyone to try this place out. You get a free week to try it out, and there’s no pressure or awkward sales pitch to become a member. I believe a month pass here is about $ 99 a month, which is really good for a yoga studio. Come here for the yoga, stick around for the great staff!

This review is long over due. If you’re looking for a butt kicking, heart pumping, and muscle lengthening class, Mixx is the place to go!
I’ve never felt so strong and confident in my yoga practice, and I have to thank the incredibly talented instructors at Mixx Yoga. They welcome you with open arms and cater the class to your needs. You want a strong core? they’ll help you work on it. You want strong arms, back, and legs? they’ll help you achieve it. If you just want a great work out that’s also fun, they are the people to see.

Mixx Yoga is an unique combo workout that fuels your endurance, strength, and flexibility. Although every class is chock full of variety and two are never exactly the same, the base structure is this: An invigorating yoga session broken up with 3 – 4 short HIIT (high-​intensity interval training) cardio sessions, totaling one hour.
The yoga provides stretching, improved balance and power, while the cardio (burpees, push-​ups, high knees, etc) will jump start your heart rate, increase strength and burn fat. Both will make you sweat (a lot)!
The Mixx Yoga instructors have the flexibility (no pun intended) to add their own flair and personality to their practice. What’s consistent is that they’ll all give lots of encouragement and positivity, provide plenty of guidance, request an open forum for criticism to make sure that they’re always improving, and will be super friendly and personable!
After a thorough and challenging workout, every class ends with an extremely rewarding shavasana, including an individual wafting of a very pleasant aroma and shoulder adjustment.
Mixx Yoga offers several reasonable plans and pass options. The 5 pack of class passes works best for my diverse workout schedule.

There’s nothing like it out there. It’s simple, effective, intense, calming and rejuvenating! Mitra the instructor and owner walks the walk and talks the talk! I knew this class was going to be good when I heard Kygo’s sexual healing remix playing in the background during the warm-​up. Current soundtrack? Check! We then went into a few of the basic yoga moves to warm the body and did some isometric holds. Mitra introduced everyone to childs pose and reminded us that we can take this pose or do a vinyasa whatever feels good to us. We then went into the first cardio round which was football runs in place with turns in either direction. Everyone was feeling the turn-​up and smiling and laughing after that first round. We then went into more yoga poses that deepened the stretch in the legs, halmstrings and core and the body heat was increasing and our breathing was put to the test. The next round of cardio was seven burpees which I finished in 30 seconds (I got a big ego), followed by a wind down in to corpse pose. Mitra asked us to close our eyes and think of the word namasté and what that means to us. By the end I was rejuvenated, my mind was right and my body was tight!
I go to a yoga studio once to twice a week and crossfit 2 — 3 x’s a week and found Mixx to be the perfect balance between intense cardio, isometric holds, and deep stretching. Crossfit is great because I’ve pushed myself passed my limits, it’s fun, there’s awesome music blaring and the community is like no other, but it also can be stressful because everything is for time and you’re lifting heavy weights and rushing which can lead to injury. I do yoga to stretch out the muscles I abused in crossfit and bring my heartrate down from «being chased by a lion» to «lying on the beach in Hawaii.» Yoga uses isometric holds which causes me to sweat and burn calories like crazy. In yoga everything is dark, relaxed, reflective and whispery… I even think in a whispery voice when I’m holding a difficult pose and want to scream obscenities. Mixx is a fun and reflective workout that’s neither aggressive nor passive! It’s the perfect balance.

Wonderful yoga studio led by Dr. Mitra Hooshmand and team. The studio is very modern and clean, with beautiful hardwood floors throughout (not that this has anything to do with the service or people, just an observation of the nice environment it created)!
I went in last night for my very first Unilocal OC Elite event (woo-​hoo!!!) and it was everything I had hoped it would be.
HOW IT WORKS:
–Head on in and enter your info/​sign their waiver on one of the iPads. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I wasn’t able to sign my waiver for some reason at first, but the girl who helped me immediately pulled it up on her phone and I was able to complete the signing process easily.
–They have shareable cubbies to the left where you can store your shoes, purses, etc.
— Yoga mat in tow, sit down anywhere that there is room in the studio and relax until the class starts.
— Mitra, founder of Mixx Yoga and owner of the studio, led this fusion yoga class. It’s essentially vinyasa flow yoga with (three) bursts of cardio, each about 30 sec-​1 min long.
— We did your normal vinyasa yoga poses, tons of holding plank and downward dog, a few warrior positions, etc. The best part of the class was the cardio bursts for sure. The music was very appropriate for each part of the class as well. Very relaxing during the flow yoga part, but incredibly upbeat and loud during the cardio parts.
*Cardio burst #1: We did cross body punches while squatting, which actually worked my core way more than I expected.
*Cardio burst #2: football drills (standing in place and quickly lifting your feet with your hands in front of you). Mitra had us jump to the left or right whenever she called out, and since it was so fast paced people were bound to get their lefts and rights mixed up. I couldn’t stop laughing during this cardio burst, which probably gave me an even better ab workout!
*Cardio burst #3: The dreaded burpees. There were two options for this, which is great for those who may not have done burpees before and don’t feel 100% comfortable with them. We only did about 7 though, definitely not bad.
After your done with the last cardio burst, the class ends with relaxation in silence while laying on your back. The energy in the room during that time was pretty incredible. As always, we ended with a respectful namaste and made our way to the front.
They had delicious juices from KRISP Fresh Living (which were so delicious), and KIND bars for us, along with some great goodie bags. The class was sponsored by Fabletics, which we found out is a new activewear brand co-​founded by Kate Hudson.
Overall, this was an incredible event that I had the honor of attending. You’ll definitely work up a sweat, so be sure to bring a towel! I can’t wait to go back again and bring my best friend (and workout enthusiast) with me!

Love Mixxyoga! The instructors help improve postures and push you to your full potential. I’ve been attending since January and the classes are exclusive with the right amount of people to get the support you need to take your practice to the next level.
I’ve enjoyed getting cardio and stretching in my daily work out routine.
I’ve also been a member of RA, Corepower and attended classes at Yogaworks and Radiant Yoga. This is completely different than those heat yoga studios. It’s amazing! Check it out!
