Dr. Bukaty has been practicing dermatology in Newport Beach since 1996. She treats male and female patients of all ages for conditions of the skin, hair and nails.

In addition to general dermatology she has extensive experience in treating sun damaged skin, including skin cancers and precancerous growths called actinic keratoses. Dr. Bukaty has a special interest in Mohs surgery for skin cancers and dermatologic surgery, including biopsies, mole removal, earlobe repair, and cosmetic removal of benign growths.

She is an expert in painless local anesthesia for dermatology procedures.

Dr. Bukaty offers cosmetic dermatology consultations and treatments with lasers of all types for wrinkles, sun damage, red or brown spots, as well as fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, Botox, chemical peels and spider vein treatment.

Dr Bukaty and her entire office are extremely professional and pleasant. Booking an appointment is easy and I find I really never have to wait long to be seen. Living in a sunny climate, it’s important to get your skin checked from time to time even if you don’t have a serious medical skin care condition. They also offer a variety of cosmetic dermatology options. Dr Hutton, one of Dr Bukaty’s colleagues, has a skin care line too. I recommend the tinted mineral sunscreen for face. It’s pricey but worth it! That said, they never have pushed product or any cosmetic procedure which is refreshing!
Dr Bukaty takes time to answer your questions and never rushes you out the door.
Today I was having trouble logging onto a medical website and they were really helpful in the office, helping me ensure everything was properly set up. I knew they could’ve sent me on my way to do it at home after my appointment but they didn’t. This is really that extra step that makes me appreciate this office.

When my dermatologist retired, he suggested I find another board certified professional. Fortunately, I found Dr. Bukaty! During a routine exam, she diagnosed a lentigo maligna melanoma, by my eye, that only an extremely gifted, experienced dermatologist would notice. After a biopsy confirmed her diagnosis, she referred me to the best reconstructive surgeon on the planet, Dr. Vincent Hung, who handled the delicate procedures from there. I can’t recommend these doctors highly enough. She and her friendly, professional staff are the absolute best!

Referred to Dr. Bukaty by my primary physician due to her expertise in treating skin cancers and after a less than pleasant experience with another derm who was more focused on selling me on botox and fillers.
The office staff was very pleasant and they got me in promptly. At the appointment the Dr. took her time to check out all of my concerns as well as providing a full body scan. She was efficient and provided me with a treatment plan and her number during the holidays for questions I might have before I return in the New Year. Great experience!

I have been to a lot of dermatologist because of my history of melanoma and after this office I will never try another one because it was a great experience. The staff was so friendly and when I had the procedure to remove my current melanoma they played soothing music and gave me bottled water. I loved it because I was pretty nervous.

I was referred to Dr. Bukaty by a friend and was I grateful for the referral. Dr. Bukaty ran ON TIME. It only took two weeks to book an appointment as a new patient. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional. I went in for a suspicious lesion and she did an entire body check, removed two lesions instead of me having to reschedule another appointment with her. She called with pathology results the following week. It’s a rare and auspicious event these days to come across a physician who is super efficient. I truly appreciate that she valued my time as well. Dr. Bukaty is a keeper!

I have been going to Dr, Bukaty for about 15 years now. I first consulted her when I needed Moh’s Surgery for a Basal Cell Carcinoma on my nose. It was a complex procedure that required a skin graft. She did an amazing job and I continue to see her 3 – 4 times a year for skin checks to make sure we catch any precancerous/​cancerous spots before they advance. Dr. Bukaty and Carrie are both very professional, quickly addressing my skin concerns and always making me feel welcome. I have started getting Botox injections and have always had good, natural looking results. I would recommend Dr. Bukaty for anyone looking for a top dermatologist for their diagnostic, surgical and cosmetic needs.

I have been seeing Dr Bukaty for years now. I initially went in for wart removal and now that I’m older I’m now getting facial treatments and Botox. I have never been disappointed with Dr Bukaty and find her to be kind, personable, extremely professional, caring and most importantly –GOOD AT DERMATOLOGY! There are so many doctors in Newport it makes deciding hard.. I have been to Island Derm and they just don’t compare .
I cannot stress how important it is to have someone you trust doing work on your body! It’s a no brainer :). I will continue to see Dr Bukaty as long as I need Derm work.
Her staff is fantastic. I am always greeted warmly and professionally when I come in for appts. Carrie is always so nice and friendly too! I would highly recommend her and her office to anyone.

«I have been seeing Dr. Bukaty every month for 6 months for acne treatment. Because Dr. Bukaty and Dr. Hutton work together, I always get an appointment time that works for me with any number of proficient doctors, but Dr. Bukaty is by far the best. I always feel like she listens to every issue I have and responds intelligently, not just with a general response. If she doesn’t have an answer, she does research on the issue and calls me with more information, going far beyond the effort required.
Her staff is excellent as well. When I have trouble filling a prescription, they put in as much time as necessary to assist me in filling it, even though they are not required to do so.
I have been consistently impressed with how much this office cares and makes a concentrated effort to ensure a perfect experience. In addition, the facility is beautiful, has plentiful free parking, and the upper levels offer expansive views of Newport Beach. I highly recommend this office, and Dr. Bukaty especially.»

I have been going to Dr. Bukaty for many years to have my skin checked for abnormalities, as well as cosmetic procedures. I am very happy with her services, and I will continue to go to her for all of my skin care needs. She removed a few moles from my back, and the procedure was very quick and painless. I also had some warts on my fingers that needed to be removed, and Dr. Bukaty was able to take care of that for me. I highly recommend making an appointment with her in Newport Beach.

I had the most horrible experience with Dr. Bukaty and have a big scar to show for it.
I went in to have a mole removed on my arm. It was almost noon and she made a comment that I was ruining her lunch break. Why did they schedule me in at that time then?!
When she came back in the room, she noticed a mole on my breast and said she was going to remove that one instead. Umm. OK. It was never a concern to any other dermatologist.
She was in a complete hurry to do the procedure (and get to lunch). She pulled my skin left & right and up & down, clearly not caring how much pain she inflicted.
After she removed the mole, she stitched me back up — carelessly. I have a scar on my breast that looks like a centipede. It’s awful! And, it is the only scar that itches, despite the procedure was years ago.
If you want a caring perfectionist to work on your skin, go to Dr. Aszterbaum. She is in the same office building and is the best dermatologist I have ever been to!

I visited Dr. Bukaty for the first time about a month ago to remove a wart. I was very impressed. She is smart and very personable. I am glad I found her. I am a patient for life. I just hope it isn’t a wart that sends me back to her!
