History

Established in 1995.

The 70+ wildly talented people that work here (as of September 2014 — check back for update, as we’re hiring) love what they do — it’s true, and anyone that has come to any of our offices will tell you just that.

Like a lot of companies, GoldenComm started with one person in his parent’s home. For us, that person is Jason Lavin and that year was 1996. You can read more about the history of the company in the «our story» section. Today, GoldenComm has four offices (Newport Beach, New York, Warsaw Poland and Pune India) on three continents and provides Internet Programming and Marketing Services to over 500 customers.

Said another way, we have several Fortune 100 companies on our client list and those companies use us to do a variety of projects and development work that would simply just take them too long to do. Or, maybe they don’t have the skill sets in-​house. Companies like ours exist because we can be more nimble than the big guys for a variety of projects.

In 1996, four years into his first job working at a water utility company, Jason fielded a phone call from his college roommate, Jerry McGee, who was working at a Newport Beach ad agency.

As you might suspect, Jason fought through and developed his first website. Then he did another one. Then another one… and another one. Working nights and weekends became the norm for several years as Jason held his «real job» at the water company and did websites at night. Finally, in 1999, Jason rented a 300 square foot office above Diedrich Coffee House on 17^th Street in Costa Mesa, CA and put a sign on the door, «Golden State Communications»

Today, GoldenComm’s headquarters is 2 miles from John Wayne Airport in sunny Newport Beach. We’re in our own stand-​alone building, equipped with fiber optics from street to desktop. We would love to talk to you about what we can do for you — give us a call, anytime, or just stop by.
