I had a private makeup lesson with Jane, and it was a lovely experience. We spoke on the phone a few weeks prior to the lesson to go over what I was interested in learning. She even created a Pinterest board to help organize the points for the lesson. During the actual lesson itself, Jane was extremely professional, personable and knowledgeable. I had such a great time during the 2 hour lesson and learned a lot from her. We not only went over the makeup looks we talked about beforehand, but also spent some time going over skincare. I would not hesitate to hire Jane as a makeup artist, and would love to do another follow-​up makeup lesson with her soon!

RATING ONLY ON CUSTOMER SERVICE: This review is based on the interactions I’ve had with Jane via emails. I ended up not going with Jane for my wedding makeup (but only because I got hooked up on a killer deal through a friend’s friend) but I wanted to write her a nice review because her customer service was so fabulous during the inquiry period.
She is quick to respond to emails and is very thorough with her answers and even though I ended up not going with her she still created me a Pinterest board so I can organize my favorite wedding-​inspired makeup looks! :)

This review is late. I was a bridesmaid from Texas for an August wedding in CA. Jane was very easy and gracious to work with. She addressed all my concerns and was worth every penny. I just saw pictures from the wedding and was impressed again by her hair and makeup. For those of you who are very picky like I am, Jane is a perfectionist, so she even caught things I didn’t!

From all the reviews I read, I decided to go with Jane for my wedding make up. Unfortunately I never had the chance to even try having my make up done by her. She was very difficult to work with especially since she would not accommodate with anything at all. I guess it’s either her way or the highway. Her bookings are way off. I ask for a 11am appointment for hair and makeup preview she gives me 11am for hair and 6 pm for make up. I actually was going to drive an hour out to her and wait around for hours just so she can give me a makeup preview. Well I caught a cold and did not want to get them sick. Emailed her at least 24 hours before my appointment to see if I can just reschedule. She said it was ok, then later she canned me. I find her very unprofessional and a diva. I wouldn’t recommend going with someone like this especially if you have a wedding coming up. Wedding is really stressful and you need someone that understands and be helpful at the same time.

Jane is wonderful. I loved the skin consult, it helped me understand which products were best for me. It also helped me prep my skin for my big day. During the trial, she made me feel comfortable and made sure I was happy with how the look was coming along. She explained all the products she was using and told me what she was going to do next. Some make up artists just put everything on your face and make you look in the mirror to see if you like it but not Jane. She’s also punctual which is very important on the morning of your wedding. She also gave me a touch up kit.
She just has a great positive energy around her. Not only did she make me look beautiful on my wedding day she also made me feel beautiful on the inside.

jane and her team are professional, courteous, and easy to work with. my enagement and wedding pictures came out beautifully (in other words, I came out beautifully). my bridesmaids were also lovely in the pictures. i loved how they looked– natural and elegant.
as i read through the other reviews for glamoh, they are all right on the dot. jane and her team are good at what they do (hair, skin care, makeup), and taking care of the wedding party on the wedding day. it was a stress free day in so many ways, and i am glad i had jane and her team to thank for that!

Looking for bridal makeup on Unilocal,I stumbled across glamOh makeup and was super glad I did. Jane was amazing throughout the process. During the bridal preview she took the time to find out what I wanted and what I was expecting. Since I never wear makeup, I wanted to keep it as natural as possible and she did a fantastic job. She was attentive to my concerns and always explained what she was doing and why she was using the products she did. After the consultation she provided a skincare regimen so that my skin could look the best it could for the wedding day.
On the wedding day itself, Jane was super prompt and very professional. My bridesmaids raved about how their makeup turned out and how young my mother and mother in law looked. Even though my makeup was done at 12pm for a 530pm wedding, the makeup lasted throughout the night and looked perfect even after all the dancing! Even after the fact she helped me out by providing more skin care advice for my acne prone skin! You can tell she loves what she does and is an amazing person to work with. She definitely did beyond what I expected and I would highly recommend her to anyone! Thanks Jane!

I love, love, love Jane! I found her on Unilocal two days before my engagement photo shoot, and was extremely fortunate to have been able to get an appointment with her on such short notice because, in all honesty, Jane is the best of the best. She is a consummate professional and an extremely nice person, and really takes her job and her clients very seriously. And as someone who has had her hair and makeup done by other professionals in the past, I can tell you wholeheartedly that Jane is amazing and has definitely set the bar very high for everyone else in her field.
Up until April 28^th, which was the day of my makeup and hair appointment, all of my experiences with professional makeup artists were pretty standard: I sat in a chair, told them what look I was hoping to achieve, and the makeup artists would do their thing.
Jane, however, not only asked me what I look I was aiming for, she also wanted to know why. And knowing that additional detail makes a huge difference. For instance, I told her that I wanted to be glamorous but natural because my engagement pictures were mostly going to be seen by my relatives and family friends, so I wanted to keep everything within the boundaries of traditional Asian conservatism. I know Jane would have done a beautiful job if I had just left it at, «I want to be glamorous but natural,» but the results were even more amazing simply because she knew what my «target audience» was.
Another thing that sets Jane apart from other makeup artists is that she really cared about my skin and making sure that I knew the best ways to take care of it. One of the first things she asked me was what type of makeup I used most often. I told her mineral makeup, which I had been using for years because everyone always touted it as being the best makeup for your skin. So imagine my surprise when I learned that mineral makeup is not formulated for frequent use because it tends to dry out your skin. But as caught off-​guard as I was, Jane’s tidbit completely explained why certain areas of my face had become drier in recent years – and I’d never had a problem with dry skin before.
Jane was also incredibly generous with her makeup and skincare advice, and really changed the way I thought about my skin and how I treated it – so much so that I’ve incorporated a lot of her suggestions into my daily routine. Who knew something as simple as daily moisturizer could do so much good?
Throughout my session, Jane made sure that I was comfortable with the direction my look was going by explaining what she doing with my hair and makeup as she was doing it. When she was going to add fuller curls to my hair, accentuate my cheekbones, add more color to my eyelids – I was given an update every step of the way, and I very much appreciated this. The last thing you want is to look into a mirror and be unpleasantly surprised by what you see… but I didn’t have to worry about that because I knew what was going on at all times.
At the end of my appointment, Jane put some of the makeup she had custom blended for me into a touch-​up kit to use just in case I needed it – which I totally didn’t. The only time I ever handled that kit was when I took it out of my purse. Seriously. I didn’t have any issues with my hair and makeup at all. To put it another way: even though I was made up and ready to go at 2:00 p.m., I wasn’t scheduled to take my engagement photos until 5:30 p.m. Despite the 3.5 hour difference, however, my hair and makeup still looked as fresh as it did when I left Jane’s studio – and it stayed that way all throughout the photo shoot and then some. Yes, even though my engagement pictures were taken outdoors on a windy day, and I was sweating from trudging up and down an incline as the sun beat down on me, my look remained flawlessly intact. It held up so well that it pained me to have to take a shower and wash everything away… but I eventually did after holding out until 11:00 that evening – some nine hours after Jane had done my hair and makeup (and it still looked great!)
My only regret is that I am not getting married in California, and won’t be able to use Jane for my wedding. But for those of you who are getting married in California, I highly recommend working with her. Doing so will be one of the best decision you can ever make.

Heather was wonderful. She did such a fabulous job throughout my hair/​makeup trial. I can’t tell you enough how thrilled I am with my hair and makeup.
Heather was so patient – we tried an up-​do first, and it didn’t work
out, but let me tell you, that girl can work some magic. The back was
absolutely perfect, but I just didn’t like it from the front – I think
up-​dos are not my thing. I loved her attitude – she said something along
the lines of – «I have nowhere to go tonight so we will make it work
until we get it right and you’re happy.» She listened patiently to
everything I said. She made me feel so at ease and comfortable – like I
could completely trust her to do a phenomenal job. We ended up going
with my hair half up, and it was beautiful – like happy-​out-​of-​my-​mind
beautiful.
My makeup was so gorgeous too. She listened to all my concerns and
ideas and was able to transfer all of it beautifully and creatively on
my face. =) I loved that it looked like «me.» Everything
was absolutely perfect. I know that on my wedding day I am in good
hands. There will be nothing for me to worry about.
I am so thankful. I want to personally thank you (Jane) for making me feel
confident in your services. I made the right choice in contracting you. I really respect you, Heather and the company – so
far my fiancé and I have been extremely impressed with your level of
professionalism, as well as the personal touch that makes me feel at

I found Jane and her amazing team just weeks before I was to walk down the aisle. I’ve done countless trials but was never really pleased by any of them. It was getting down to the wire and I needed to book someone fast. As fate would have it, I found Jane on Unilocal and after reading such great reviews, I took a chance. Jane was very prompt in responding to her emails. We spoke on the phone first where she told me about herself and her services. I booked with confidence and was very pleased with my make up on my wedding day. It was natural enough to wear I felt comfortable but there was enough coverage for the camera. I love Jane and her team because they arrived on time (punctuality is KEY for me), totally personable, they are receptive to feedback (they truly want you to be HAPPY on your wedding) and honestly really care about delivering great service.
Jane changed my life and I will never neglect my skin again. During our consultation, she shared her knowledge, her advise, all her tips, and after applying them to my everyday routine, I see the difference in my skin. I look back and regret all the years I lost from just being lazy. I MOISTURIZE both day and night. Eye cream is crucial and cream cleansers are better for your skin than foam cleansers. Jane practices what she preaches and you can tell she is religious about her skin care regimen. The girl is gorgeous. Good hydrated skin shows with make up coverage. I totally saw the difference at my trial session and on my wedding day. A week does make a difference with proper care. I went from dehydrated skin, fine lines under and around my eyes, nasty pores to a more hydrated face, less visible lines and smaller pores. It was truly embarrassing but I had to own up to my malpractice. Beautiful skin is a gift and the best gift you can give yourself. It is the gift that keeps on giving. Jane took my concerns and with her artistic talent, she created the look I wanted. She applied a natural strip lash and added individual lashes so it has a softer yet defined look. I was so happy with my lashes. I did cry a lot and the adhesiveness wore off before noon but luckily one of my bridesmaids had some in her purse. Aside from that minor hiccup, everything else was wonderful. I loved the fine line she drew on my lid and waterline. I loved that she took my feedback from our trial and catered to my needs. I don’t wear make up often and I’m very picky with how it looks and the way it is applied. I give Jane 2 thumbs up for the look she created to satisfy the camera’s needs and especially mine.
Beth and Clara were my hair stylists and they are sooo great. SOO great. I told Beth what I was looking to do and she delivered. She also made sure my hair was just perfect. I love that Beth uses rollers to set the curls. She uses very soft and nicely fragrant hairspray so my curls were loose enough to my liking but tight enough to last. Clara created an undo that was simply beautiful. It was not the same one like at our trial though that one was cute too. The wedding day undo was so pretty I just couldn’t get over it. Clara also came to my rescue the day of and picked up some flower girl headbands at Claire’s. I had more time with Clara so we got to become friends but honestly, Jane’s entire team was great. I will only look to them for make up and hair from here on out. No one else will come close. They set the bar that high.

Like I had said in my earlier post, her service was top-​notch throughout the entire wedding planning process and day of. Anytime I had a question, I would email and she would respond within a day. This really helps take a lot of stress off a bride when she can get answers quickly.
On the big day, Jane was prompt, professional, and definitely brought her A-​game. My bridesmaids and I all looked fabulous. Jane was very patient and wasn’t happy until you were happy and comfortable with how you look. Read that again, JANE MAKES YOU COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN. For a girl who doesn’t wear much make up regularly, an event such as a wedding and the amount of make up needed to make you look great in photos might be more than what’s comfortable, but Jane is able to make you comfortable.
Jane knows her make up inside and out — she knows the science, she knows the art. Many wedding make up artists out there might not have gotten professional training, or if they did go to cosmetology school, didn’t focus on wedding photography. Well, you can sleep easy at night knowing Jane specifically studied in make up for wedding photography.

If I could give Jane 6 stars, I would in a heartbeat. Jane did my makeup for my Chinese wedding and she did an absolutely phenomenal job. She’s a major Rock Star and is so talented as a makeup artist. Without much direction, she can make you look like a goddess and is so NICE and easy to work with.
I was truly blessed to find Jane and am so grateful that I did. My hair and makeup stayed perfectly fine for over 12 hours with minimal (if any) touch-​up necessary.
Jane genuinely cares about her clients and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the results. She is a perfectionist and pays attention to every little detail (as most brides know, the details are what make the difference). My mother is a harsh critic and really liked the makeup job. As most Asian daughters know, getting your mother’s approval can be very difficult!
I highly recommend Jane to anyone that wants a highly skilled, talented, personable and simply amazing makeup artist for any event! You need to look no further — just book her and you’ll see what we’re all raving about!

Jane is definitely a master of the trade. I had a fairly large wedding party — 2 mothers, 4 bridesmaids, and myself. We ALL looked amazing and I couldn’t be happier with her work as well as the hair stylist she worked with. Jane knows exactly how to work with different skin types and tones and the range of her skills are amazing.
Not only did she do an amazing job but she also provided recommendations and tips to my bridesmaids on skincare and was a wealth of knowledge with their questions. My pictures have turned out beautifully — I can’t believe how perfect everyone looked. My mom looked gorgeous and her youthful self shined through with the make-​up. So awesome! The make-​up lasted all day and she even provided a touch-​up kit to match all my colors but we barely used it.

Amazing!!! Jane and her team are the fairy god mothers of all bride to be… they seriously know what they are doing and know how to worked their magic.
During my trial. jane assured me that my makeup was going to stay on all night… And it totally did!!! And my hair too. It was just as perfect at the end of the night… One of my bridesmaid (who normally does not wear much makeup) told me a few days after the wedding that she never saw her eye as georgeous as they were on my wedding day! AND… Jane did an amazing job on my mom… I step away for a little bit and no joke. She looks 10 years younger. SHE EVEN GOT MY MOM TO WEAR FALSH EYELASHES! I do have to say… I cant wait for another event to come up to have jane work her magic on me again…

I stumbled upon a photo contest for a walk-​on role onto the TV Show Mad Men and said «Hey, why the hell not?» I had the perfect photographer in mind (see my Unilocal!review of Kenneth Pfeifer), but the only problem was: I am hair-​stupid, and only proficient in casual make-​up application — certainly not equipped or capable for photography grade make-​up! Ken found Jane through his photographer networkage (me thinks I just made up a word…), and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Jane was rocking and ready to go when I arrived at the shoot, and the counter top was full of equipment waiting for my fresh face. After some talk of ideas on how we would pull off the look of the 1950s and 1960s, I could tell that she had done her research. Her bed-​side manner if you will was awesome — she explained what she was applying and why, and was delicate throughout the entire process. She was gentle about pointing out how one of my eyebrows is significantly less arched than the other (a problem that is evident in baby pictures, so I can just thank the good Lord), and had some make-​up applied within minutes that not only evened them out, but captured the thicker brow of that era while still looking natural. My face ain’t exactly blemish free either, so she honed in on some problem areas and made them disappear — hopefully less Photoshopping was needed in post — ha!
She worked quickly enough to ensure that I wouldn’t be stuck in a styling chair all night so we could get down to business. Jane stayed the duration of the shoot, primping and touching up my make-​up as poses and wardrobe were changed, and as the lighting made me a little shiny. She even contributed plenty of tips when I was making goofy faces. Oh, me…
Her price was very reasonable and I am indebted to her for being able to help me out so last minute. Should the need for make-​up beyond my abilities ever return (hair is granted), I know who to call!

I’ve never reviewed anything on Unilocal before, but I felt compelled to write about glamOh. Jane was the makeup artist for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in a few weeks ago and she did an absolutely fabulous job on the 3 bridesmaids, the bride, and the bride’s mother. Everyone looked beautiful – especially the bride! Jane is extremely professional and dedicated to her work and it shows! For example, she arrived at the hotel where we were getting ready at 5am in order to accomodate all of us with plenty of time to spare before pictures with the rest of the bridal party.
Before any makeup application began, Jane washed my face and applied skincare products and provided a mini-​tutorial on how to take care of my skin (what a nice bonus!). She provided very personalized service and individual care for each of the ladies and this was obvious as I watched her work on the others. Getting my makeup done definitely felt luxurious and the time went by very quickly as we chatted and Jane explained everything she was doing and also provided additional tips and pointers. I generally do not wear a lot of makeup, so I really appreciated the fact that she let me see her progress and asked how I liked what she was doing and was very open to any changes that I wanted based on what I was comfortable with.
The bridal party’s makeup all photographed really well. Jane really has a good eye and knows how to maximize your features and play them up – she focused on my eyes and I got a lot of compliments that day! I was also amazed that my makeup stayed in tact for over 18 hours!!! The whole ‘do required very little touch up throughout the day, even after some tears were shed — I think I powdered my nose once to minimize shine after taking pictures outdoors and reapplied lipgloss twice. Jane, thanks for a fun day and I can’t wait until the next special occassion that you can glam me up for! :)

Jane was GREAT! From start to finish she did a fantastic job! I corresponded with her first via email followed by a personal phone call from her. I did not think twice about committing to our appointment. I was so pleased that I paid in full right away! She provided me all the information I needed leading to the day of my appointment. Even encouraged me to print some photos of hair styles I thought would work for the event I was attending.
On the day of the event, I made sure I came on time just in case. The moment I walked-​in through her door, she made me feel at ease and even accommodated some space for me to eat lunch while she was working on my hair.
We clicked! Everything we had discussed during our session happened! Her thorough explanation and personal attention to detail shined through the entire time. I did not feel rushed and I felt that I was part of the entire process. She explained every single step she did and even showed the difference of getting make-​up correction. Who knew that the manner you slept whether a right or left side sleeper made a difference on how your face and skin settles… So yes, according to Jane, sleep on your back!
Overall, I enjoyed my first class experience and vow to be a repeat customer! To top it all, I got compliments at the party! My photos turned out great! I will definitely recommend Jane to all my friends (well, just to those I like) she’s my secret weapon!

Like any girl, I LOVE getting my makeup done, and Jane really did an awesome job from the initial face care all the way to grooming my wild eyebrows.
