Great mall with big selection of different departments. The mall designed for different levels of shopping.

Cool Outdoor Mall. Nice Restaurants, nice stores. Fun who has dogs and Kids, even funner when you go alone and take your time enjoing your day off.

I really love coming here to study, ridiculous right? It is a bit out of the way for me, mostly because I live at Laguna Beach and I refuse to take the toll road to get to this mall; however, I do enjoy the sights I see on the way to Barnes and Nobles and whenever I’m sick of studying all I have to do is walk around for 30 minutes (or the rest of the day, depends on my mood) and look through the stores. I become satisfied and I can go back to studying (or go home whichever!).
This is truly one of my favorite malls and I hope it does not become overcrowded and ridiculously snobby like South Coast. If it does then I’d have to go back to the Spectrum, and I’d rather not…:(
As far as shopping goes, there’s everything for every price range. From Neiman Marcus to Forever 21 and Brandy Melville. I also like that it’s dog friendly, and so does my puppy :)

Fashion Island is an outdoor, upscale mall, with wonderful architecture and design. The walls are colorful, the landscaping is beautiful, on a sunny, breezy day you feel like you’re in Tuscany. I love their fountains and ponds, they add something cute to the place, it makes it more enjoyable to stroll around. I also love that they have musicians performing live at various plazas around. If you eat outside, their music makes it even more fun.
Great selection of stores, from major department stores, to designer boutiques, to a bookstore, home décor places and affordable stores for everyone. The same with the restaurants, they have a wide selection, from luxurious ones, to gourmet ones, regular cafeteria malls one, to nice coffee-​shops, bakeries, snack places. A must place to stop at if you visit Newport Beach area.
Free parking. Sure, the place could be a maze to drive into and find your way out. But it’s elegant, beautiful and it could be relaxing, finding a bench to relax, listening to live players, or grabbing a bite at an outdoor place, it could be a little «me» time that you deserve. It’s a shopping experience more unique, that helps you escape.

Fashion Island is a great large, upscale shopping mall in Newport Beach. Almost all of the major «mall chains» are represented, and I definitely enjoy the property’s grounds. Maintenance does a great job with cleaning and landscaping!
The food court is somewhat low quality given the clientele and the rest of the center. Fancier options are available outside though (like True Food Kitchen). Parking is somewhat hard to come by, but try searching near the edge of the surrounding parking areas.

Nice outdoor mall. They have a great selection of restaurants. Beautiful fountains. Close to the beach. You don’t need to be dressed up to visit.

Fashion Island has always been a place I enjoy traveling to for shopping. They have a nice Nordstrom’s, my go to place for work clothes and sportswear.
Music fills the air on Sunday’s from artists in the plaza playing live.
Ocean views from the patio outside Macy’s are spectacular and peaceful.
Brandy Melville has cute clothes. Most are NOT made in China but in places like Italy.
Fashion Island walkways are clean and uncluttered.
Today, I see poorly placed advertising. I like UC Irvine Basketball but tasteless placements of large banners in the walkways is like putting a huge GEICO ad on the table at your favorite restaurant.
I am DISAPPOINTED Fashion Island.
Take the banners down and stick to what you do well.

Beautiful sight to see. Lots of stores with Nordstrom, Macys and Bloomingdales as their anchor stores. Very dog friendly, and kid friendly shopping mall. Of course don’t forget the amazing views you get of the ocean while shopping, who can top that? There are stores here for every person from every walk of life.

A particularly fantastic and yes, cliché Orange County shopping experience.
For my swan song review in 2015 (and subsequent hiatus until 2016) I wanted to choose something with local flavor mixed with south OC’s love for pomp, glamour and just being over the top with a twist of holidays. Fashion Island is a no brainer candidate for this.
Built on the land of the 1958 National Scout Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America (thus the name «Jamboree Road») Fashion Island was originally built in 1967 as part of «Newport Center» which was slated as an upscale open-​air lifestyle center from the jump. Over the course of the last 60 years FI has seen countless upgrades and expansions making it the juggernaut of consumerism we know and love today.
Today FI is the crown jewel example of an OC outdoor shopping mall and offers all of the trappings of the affluent from Range Rover to Brooks Brothers, restaurants that range from Red O to True Food Kitchen and even a Restoration Hardware for those days you wake up needing a $ 300.00 door knob made of Swarovski lead cut glass. Even the cinema boasts leather reclining chairs and beer/​wine service. From elegant cars, kids, dogs and hipsters, crowd watching doesn’t get much better than Fashion Island.
Other amenities include a stocked Koi pond, huge water fountains, a jaw slackening view of the pacific ocean and CdM from the south facing side, trolley service, and the old white locals really go out of their way to make sure we all remember to hate old white people.
Fashion Island’s premier event is easily the perennial Annual Holiday Tree Lighting that includes a glamours evening complete with Disney characters, fake snow falling from the sky and then the lighting of the largest Christmas tree I recall outside of Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. I usually would be the last person to advocate such a touristic abomination but have to admit, they do it up. Big.
Yes, South Coast Plaza is twice the size and has all of the boutiques. And yes, The Spectrum has the Ferris Wheel and one third of the douchebag culture to deal with. It doesn’t matter. You still go to FI several times a year and look forward to the next visit.

We came here on ¹⁰⁄₁₁ around 4:30 PM and the weather was just perfect.
I used to think that all malls were just a mall, but Fashion Island is HUGE!
There are so many high end shops & restaurants. The place is clean and well-​kept. Everything is open, kind of reminds me of Ala Moana Mall in Oahu.
It was so big that we got tired of walking before we actually made it through the whole place.
I love the fact that there’s a water fountain at almost every corner. It’s so nice and relaxing.
People here are friendly and easy-​going. Glad we decided to stop by and we’ll definitely be back again someday…

Been here many, many years ago when it was really foggy (can’t even remember the stores or anything like that), and got the chance last year, to visit with my family. I did remember the beautiful Koi Pond (our son’s favorite, water features), outside, which was still there, but I don’t remember if it always had stepping stones (man, I really gotta dig out those old pics) or massive square seating block– forget it, if it’s hot, and you’re wearing short shorts, it will be too hot to sit; I only did so for a picture snapping).
Only the food court and small area (book store) is an enclosed mall, while most of the shopping center is outside (plus, many of the large sit-​down restaurants are away from the shopping center fronting the parking lots) — this is kind of hard to describe, but some doors/​stores don’t connect, and you have to use another way to get around, which is what happened to us — we went inside (but I think we asked someone there in the parking lot), but went to the food court, and then afterward, to the outside part. It’s a nice stroll, especially in nice weather. It is nice looking, too, very pretty ambiance.
We visited a few stores. There are 170 listings for stores and restaurants, so I am going to mention the major one: Forever 21, Nordstrom, Roy’s, Starbucks, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Lush, See’s Candies, Subway, Chick-​Fil-​A, Tommy Bahama Home, Urban Outfitters, Ulta Beauty, Victoria’s Secret, Whole Foods, Panda Express, PF Changs, Newman Marcus, Island Sole, Lucky Brand, Five Guys Burgers, Fast Fix, Dick’s Sporting Goods, The Cheesecake Factory, CPK, Anthropologie, BBW, Barnes & Noble, Aerosoles, & Apple Store.
I do want to come here again, maybe spend more time for shopping.

Beautiful mall to hang out or go shopping or to enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch in one of the bakeries or many fantastic restaurants inside the mall or surrounding it. Lots of boutiques as well as Macy’s, Nordstrom and of course Bloomies ! Dog friendly so you see a lot of fury friends enjoying the stroll with their «parents» :)
Plenty of choices and selections for everyone.

I love everything about Fashion Island from the yummy restaurants, water features, outdoor area, selection of shopping, ocean view and the people that work there. I am terribly concerned it will become a nightmare to walk around in like South Coast Plaza (which is now ridiculous) with the masses of people I saw tonight for the tree lighting. I pray this is an isolated incident because of the event as it will take away from the unique experience and Newport Beach feel. I will never go to the tree lighting again with its silly show but this will always be my favorite shopping outdoor experience.

This is one of the best outdoor malls in the world. I love the restaurants we have to choose from. CPK, PF Chang’s and the Cheese Cake Factory. Lots of little shops, big department stores and a great food court. The place is clean and modern. Lots of out door seating because the weather is ushally great. The only down side to this mall is it when it rains you get wet. But when it rains we always have South Coast Plaza.

The name is deceiving… Only because it’s not an island: P but the moment I stepped into this shopping area, I easily fell in love.
It is a MASSIVE MALL! Probably one of the biggest I’ve ever been to. First off, the fountains are really beautiful; there are a few places throughout the mall. I was impressed just by the looks of them. They definitely spend a lot of money building and maintaining the area! There are a lot of greenery. Flowers everywhere which I loved!
The security guards were also very nice. Nico also helped us out today. He gave us directions to some of my favorite stores, which made it easy to get my shopping done.
I didn’t even get to walk the whole mall, but I was satisfied just by the few shops I went to. There’s a mix of everything here, so everyone can leave with a smile and a shopping bag (or a dozen or 2: P)

Fashion Island was the mall near my hotel, so I went to check it out. The mall itself is very beautiful and has quite a number of shops to check out. This seemed to me as high end mall but it had a lot of choices for food.
One thing I liked very much was this being a strip mall, they have beautiful and different Fountains across the mall and have nice comfy seating around them. The mall and its facilities are kept very clean even after it being a strip mall.
Shopping-​wise All the major department stores like Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, and Macy’s are located here and there are a lot of high end boutiques. They have a movie theatre with eateries like True Food and Cheesecake Factory, a French Bistro and a full size food court with cheaper option like Five guys.
There is plenty of parking.

Fashion Island is an outdoors mall located in the upscale community of Newport Beach. From the 405 freeway, you can take Jamboree, or connect onto the 73 freeway and take MacArthur and head west toward the ocean.
There’s stores for all types from high end Louis Vuitton to midrange like Kate Spade, to regular stores like Ann Taylor Loft. There’s even specialty stores like Nespresso, where the next flagship boutique is located in Beverly Hills.
There’s plenty of food choices, from the food court to the sit down restaurants, and even a Whole Foods you can get food to go, or prepared to make at home.
One of the charming thing about Fashion Island is the mall is dog friendly. You can find many owners showing off their pets on weekends, parading them as they browse the mall. During Christmas, they have a tree lighting ceremony, and Disney even takes part in the event.
If you prefer stores that are indoors, and have more variety, you’re better off going to South Coast Plaza. But if you want an outdoor mall to stroll, this is a good one to visit.

Fashion Island is a model for how to keep people longer. The outdoor venue with beautiful weather, good people watching and dog watching, and a good variety of vendors is perfect for meandering after a meal and happening upon something you or a loved one has been seeking such as a really tasty cheese (Whole Foods), a well-​fitting swim suit (Swim Spot), or a quirky birthday gift (Urban Outfitters).
The quaint trolley is a fun way to see all the shops around the perimeter or just get back to your vehicle. So much better than being inside an indoor mall.

This is a nice outdoor mall. There are places where you can get beautiful views of the ocean from here. But be prepared, this is a high-​end mall so there are many expensive stores. I didn’t find anything I would purchase here.
You come here for the experience, or if you have the money to spend! You will notice pretty quickly that this is a dog-​friendly shopping mall. Lots of people have their dogs and they are walking around both outside and inside the actual stores. Personally this was the first mall where I’ve seen this allowed. I guess that’s how high-​rollers roll. Haha.
The layout is very nice, the landscaping well done. You will enjoy the pet and people watching here. It’s nice to get outdoors and walk around, just hard to get any moderate or bargain shopping done here.
I still enjoyed walking the area, but I will go other places to actually buy stuff.

Fun outdoor mall. Lots of tourists and locals here. I enjoy PDM (Pain Du Monde), La Brea Bakery, Canaletto, Auntie Anne’s, Nordstrom e-​bar, and sometimes I go to Starbucks. They often have live musicians performing outside of Nordstrom. The Macy’s here has some nice dresses and you can score on deals here from time to time. I like their MAC Cosmetics counter.
The Victoria’s Secret and PINK locations here are good. I enjoy going into the Bath and Body Works from time to time, especially when they have their Semi-​Annual Sale. The Kate Spade store here carries a lot of their purses and accessories. Their wallets are durable and their purses keep their form if you take care of them.
Neiman Marcus has a Louis Vuitton display window. I am not going in there just yet, lol. It sure looks attractive. In general, I don’t go to Neiman Marcus. Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s are good enough for me at this point, especially when they have sales or offer coupons. If you do go to Neiman Marcus, they have great chocolates there.
A pleasant mall, especially when the weather is good. You can see a lot of different breeds of dogs on the weekend. Most of them are well groomed and well behaved. If you want to sit down and take a break, there are plenty of seats outdoor. Don’t miss their koi pond.
