Core Performance Physical Therapy

They are great! John who was my physical therapist knew what to do and how to treat my shoulder. Everyone there was friendly and very helpful.

I am not a huge fan of Unilocal yet in spite of that fact I feel it is an obligation of mine to spread the word about such an informed, updated, thorough, kind, and knowledgable staff. I personally have been battling a locked shoulder for a little over 6 months now. I have visited numerous therapeutical offices ranging from massage therapists, chiropractors, sports medicine specialists, family doctors, I went the whole 9 yards and than some. Wherever I went, they could only diagnose a problem that they actually had knowledge about. For lack of a better way to describe it, a chiropractor would suggest a chiropractic problem and solution, same with every «specialist» I visited. Then I came to core performance physical therapy where they took the time, effort and energy to actually figure out what was going on. Turns out my shoulder wasn’t dislocated like the massage therapist suggested, or a partially broken rib like the chiropractor had insisted; I had a knot. A knot that by not stretching or working out was made worse by physical labor. They figured it out quickly and not 2 weeks removed from my first visit I am almost healed. EVERY single time I am in there i see everyone stretching, working out getting their injured areas stronger, muscle stabilizers are worked, massage therapy, electro therapy and stem, and your own personalized regimen to get you back to 100% healthy. I normally don’t write reviews but you get excited when a long time injury finally subsides and I want to make sure credit is given in full! Thank you Dr. Martin and the rest of the staff thank you thank you thank you!

The previous reviews are all so wonderful that I tried core. I felt very depersonalized. The PT worked with me 5 – 10 minutes & then aids were in charge. During each session about three to four aids would come by and tell me to do a certain excercise. Then they would disappear. No one stayed with me to tell if I was doing it correctly. My therapy was for three times weekly but they could only fit me in once for the week. I was not assigned a specific PT so I never knew who would see me

Best physical therapy staff in Orange County. The physical therapists are extremely knowledgable and friendly. John Kwon was my therapist and he really took the time to listen to my concerns and goals. I’m back participating in Cross-​Fit and running without pain. I would easily recommend my family members and friends there.

This is the third physical therapy place I’ve been to in four years for my L5-​S1 and it will be the last. Dr. Kwon and his staff are the best. I should have listened to my doctor who said that Dr. Kwon’s office was top notch. Instead, I started at another facility because it was a little closer. I learned my lesson, changed to Core Performance and I couldn’t be happier.
Dr. John Kwon is the owner and is actively involved with his patients. I’ve worked with John, Martin and Alex and they are all great. They take their time working with the patients, explain what they are doing, ask about your improvement and know their stuff.
I never get bored and look forward to my appointments. I like how some of my exercises are consistent, but we also add in new ones. We even use the Pilates machine, which gives a good workout and is easy on my back. They also provide exercise sheets so you can do some of the exercises at home.
I like how they focus on strengthening the core and continually remind me to tighten the core throughout all the exercises. They pay attention to what you’re doing and want to be sure you doing the exercises the correct way so that you improve.
You can tell that the PT’s and aides value their patients and want to see everyone improve. They are friendly, knowledgeable and active themselves. I’ve had two epdiural injections over the last few months and have improved tremendously and know that I will continue to do so with the help of Core Performance. Trust me when I say, they are great. Check them out!

We found Core Performance on Unilocal and found the reviews to be «right on». My son had a sports injury and Martin and the entire staff were pleasant and amazing to work with. Martin was VERY detailed and took the time necessary to correctly identify the issue/​injury.
Other places seem to be more like a factory or production line… Not Core, they give focused attention and take the time to treat and rehabilitate the injury. We are very please and will use them again if needed.

Long story short — I used to be a dancer and have had multiple surgeries on my ankle with complications. I now suffer from a lot of compensation and pain throughout the lower right side of my body.
I called into Core Performance to book my first appointment and had a lovely conversation with Brie. I told her my history and she immediately said that I’d pair well with Alex who has an extensive dance background. For me, it was vital to see someone who really understands a dancer’s body and the pressures they have and will put it through because of their craft.
First appointment — Alex really took the time to listen to my long history, development of pain and MRI results. We bonded over our shared love of dance, but above all her professionalism and expertise made me feel comfortable seeking treatment at Core Performance (not always easy when you’ve gone through a lot of surgeries and have a lot of emotion tied to the injuries and pain).
I’ve only started my long physio therapy regimen, but I’m confident that I’m in the right place to start dancing again. Everyone I’ve met, both therapists and clients are so lovely. Everyone has such an uplifting and fun spirit, and come to think of it, I don’t think there’s been a time where I haven’t been laughing during a session.
I’ll update this as things progress, but if you require physical therapy (we call it physio therapy back home), then do not hesitate giving them a call!

I am a Collegiate student-​athlete and suffered two torn ligaments and a chipped bone in my wrist. I had 2 surgeries to repair the damage and began rehab as soon as I could. I started at another Physical Therapy company and it was clear it just wasn’t working. They helped get me back on my feet, but it was Alex and the rest of the Core Performance staff that took me to the next level.
From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew that I was in the right place. The staff is young, personable and professional. After each session with Alex, I left feeling stronger and more confident that I would return to competing to the sport I love.
It is because of this wonderful staff that I am back on the field and feeling 100%. Thank you for everything!

This is a belated review for John Kwon and Core Performance. Had a shoulder issue. Went to the one of highest regarded shoulder ortho surgeon specialists in Orange County. As it turns out, the doctor had a similar problem as me. When he gave me a long list of PT offices I should go to, I asked him who he went to and he said «John Kwon at Core Performance, he’s the best.» And I did. The level of care and compassion from John and his staff is second to none. John is a hard, dedicated worker who sincerely cares about healing his patients. His office is clean, state of the art. He is works with your schedule. I actually miss my time in his office. Fond memories. Enjoyed going.

John the owner is amazing. Bottom line if someone can adjust to your injury and get you amazing improvement in pain then they are an excellent practitioner. I have had a serious injury and I am seeing amazing improvement quickly I highly recommend this facility. Oh one last thought it is the most pleasant atmosphere even though everyone is in pain a lot of cheer and happiness is going on. People must be improving besides me

I came into Core Performance completely at a loss of what to do anymore. For the past 3 years my mid to upper back was progressively hurting more and more and I didn’t know why. I didn’t have any specific accident or injury that caused my back pain so I just kept thinking I could fix myself with home remedies. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
The team at CP has made such a huge impact on my life. Before going here I could hardly sleep longer than 4 hours or even sit in a 50 minute class before needing to get up and stretch out. They work hard to target where the pain is, where it came from, and how to remedy it. Not only do they instruct you on how to do exercises, but they teach you how to change your lifestyle in order to prevent furthering your injuries. (e.g. posture, sleeping positions, work environment, etc.)
Besides their skillful work in physical therapy, all the employees are incredibly genuine and provide great customer service. I love getting to talk to everybody here because it makes it a very comfortable and inviting environment. Even with all their patients, they make a real effort to connect with them and listen to what they have to say. I’m always so surprised when they remember something I told any of them the previous week!
I couldn’t be happier with my choice of a physical therapy office and honestly look forward to every session I have with them!

Core performance is a bright open space with lots of different equipment that encourages recovery. John the owner is great and truly interested in everyone’s story and recovery! I was in a bad car accident 6 months ago (severe whiplash, weakness, and nerve issues) and have been working with Martin who is both knowledgeable and fun to work with. I have also worked Alex and she is also knowledgeable and encourages positive healing. The most impressive thing is that all the staff introduces themselves to you and makes you feel welcomed! I shattered my foot and had to have it reconstructed. It was a very rough recovery, but Martin Andrade was an enormous help to getting me back on my feet. He taught me exercises for at home, explained what I need to focus on to improve, let me move at my own pace while still motivating me to keep pushing ahead, and has a very comfortable personality. I highly suggest working with him for any type of PT.

I searched several months looking for a highly-​qualified Orange County, CA physical therapist that specialized in sports injury rehabilitation. After many interviews and talking with professional fitness staff in the area, I was recommended to Dr. John Kwon.
I am continually impressed how Dr. Kwon and his team continually advance me towards my physical and athletic goals. My physical well-​being, strength and mobility have tremendously improved since seeing him. Each session Dr. Kwon and his highly-​trained staff build upon the physical and strength exercise to help return me to full health. It’s incredible how much I have improved since my severe injury.

This is my first review on Unilocal.I never wanted to bother with signing up, but I felt I owed it to anyone who has issues with their body. I went to see John Kwon on a friend’s recommendation to treat my back. I can tell you that John cares and has a passion for what he does and he does it at the highest level. I highly recommend John Kwon and Core Performance Physical Therapy.

I’ve been having back and leg pain for over a year. I’ve been to two physical therapists on referral and my pain over time would not improve. At one point, I had difficulty walking the following day after a session. John Kwon is the first therapist that emphasized my biomechanics at home and at work where I sit most of the time. He uses a three tiered approach that requires help from my doctor, himself, and most importantly myself to adhere to the proper biomechanics daily. I concur with the other writer that John spends much more time with each patient, typically 30 minutes compared to15 minutes. In addition, he has been hands on with communication with my doctor and was instrumental with the diagnosis of my pain source (L5,S1) based on his physical findings. His staff is very pleasant and caring, and I find them very different than other physical therapy outfits I’ve been to. They are very diligent in making sure that I am doing my exercises correctly and using my core rather than other muscles that may aggravate my pain. They also check to see if my pain is acting up and will tell me to stop if anything feels worse. With my other therpists and aids, they would seldom check, and would not give much advice of maximizing the benefits of the exercises, and would not challenge me enough when things were getting easier. John has been continuously adding exercises as I am getting stronger. I felt about 30% relief just after two visits, and continue to improve over time. John is very understanding and supportive of his patients and really care. He knows how we feel, since he had experienced many types of pain himself. I would highly recommend Core Performance, John Kwon and his staff are the best in town!!! You don’t need to look any further.

I sit in my chair for work approximately eight hours per day. I began to have sharp upper and lower back pain and John Kwon administered several therapeutic stretching techniques that alleviated the pain immediately and also provided valuable information to help me keep the back pain away. I’ve been to many physical therapists over the year due to an injury in my neck that causes daily inflammation and pain.
The most consistent gripe I’ve had is paying out of pocket or paying a co-​pay for a completely hands-​off therapist. Almost every physical therapist I have been to in the past has given me a set of exercises to do in their office that could’ve very well done at home with the instruction of YouTube or something of that nature.
That wasn’t the case with Core Performance Physical Therapy and it’s owner John Kwon. He is by far the most hands on therapist I have ever dealt with. He spends at least thirty minutes doing manual manipulation and really cares about my issue and truly wants to help.
On top of that, I’ve seen the most improvement after an office visit than any other therapist I’ve been to.
I urge anyone who is having pain to visit John at Core Performance PT.
