Coastline Community College

Pretty far of a drive from where I live. But the campus is new and the view is really nice. I went here for summer session. This place was sort of hard to find because it’s in a neighborhood. Campus is not so big so you can easily find your classes. A lot of fast food places are around there so if you don’t like the school food you can easily drive about 5 mins off campus to go to your nearest fast food restaurant.

Great place to go to school, I need to go there.

This is one of the better campuses. It is much cleaner and modern than the Fountain Valley location. With friendly staff members and passionate professors (but only in some field lol), the campus lies a few dozen miles from the beach. This lends not only a comforting view, but also a more diligent and refreshing mind for studying as well.

After taking Calculus 1 online here I will not be taking math anywhere else. I must say you have to have discipline and be self motivated to succeed but you will never have to worry about having a poor professor.
They offer a variety of campuses that all have a tutoring center available. The Westminster campus has a large room for tutoring that offers lots of computers. The Newport Beach campus is amazing. It is brand new and has the largest tutor center around. The best part of taking classes online is that you can be certain your going to get in.
If you happen to be a Veteran you need to check out the VA office at the Newport campus. They are open to all vets not just students. They will inform you of all the available opportunities and programs currently available and even walk you through the application process.
On weekends they offer lots of community events including BBQ’s and out side movies. Check out their website for event calendars.

Coastline is a great school I love the special programs and the view and the teachers r great and helpful and nice it’s the best

Love this new campus! Almost lie a resort, on the cliff over looking the great pacific ocean!
Lounge areas outside and in, only problem is that it is so cold!

This review is for the Coastline Acquired Brain Injury Program. It is a 1 to 2 year program depending on the student’s goal and progress. The program will not eliminate your brain farts but will help you manage your problems with nuero flatulence. Seriously, it was one of the most helpful and affordable step in my stroke rehabilitation.
I came to the Coastline ABI program after several speech therapy evaluations that said I was cognitively okay. However, I knew that couldn’t be true because I still struggle with simple things I did before like hold conversations at family and friend get together, remember appointments, and read long novels. Compensation strategies such as organization and thoughtful planning are are drilled daily into the students as the methods to overcome problems with poor memory, and attention difficulty. Most importantly, students are guided through their their transition back into the community whether it’s work, volunteering, or school. My favorite part of the program is the pyscho social curriculum taught by K. Peterson. Her common sense, tough love, and solution base approach to processing the emotional and social challenges post brain injury helped me to come to term with my stroke.

First semester this school was opened to students. The building itself is architecturally modern and really great to explore! I only have one class here so therefore I have not seen much of the building.
Parking is great at this school since not many students attend it. During the semester parking is enforced, so a permit is required. But since it is so close to the side streets I would recommend parking on the streets or in the neighborhoods if you do not have a permit.
You HAVE TO check out the amazing view from upstairs!!! This is my favorite thing to see every morning I walk to class. Fortunately for me, my class is upstairs so I have to pass by it every morning. If you walk right up the steps from the front of the school, the first thing you see is the view of Newport Beach. SO AMAZING! The best part about it is the balcony like area right in that vicinity where you can lounge around, study, and take in the amazing view.
Since everything on campus is new, everything is clean and spotless! The classroom for my class is structured like a lab with ergonomic chairs fit to my liking.
The only downside to being in a new building is having to adjust to the many things the school had not yet anticipated to install. For a few months, my classroom did not have a projector or screen for lectures or ppt presentations. There are also many items missing for class itself, such as lab equipment or structural models. It is towards the end of the semester and we are still waiting for the projector that was installed to be hooked up.
I would also recommend bringing a sweater on cold days. Although structurally the building is amazing, unfortunately there are places in the building that is not structured favorably to the environment. (i.e cold weather, windy days, etc.)
Other than that, I would highly recommend checking this place out. I am quite surprised for a school and district to continuously cut classes and teachers, they sure were able to produce a nice building in a very expensive area.
