Charter Yachts of Newport Beach

If i could give this ugly dated yacht with poor customer service and bland food i would. I attended a party this past valentines day weekend! Ariel and her boss are a scam and have zero integrity. Please do better research and find better quality with better service! They rob their clients for their money with fake advertising. For example, they claim they have food made by a «chef» when i and multiple guests witnessed young crew members cooking the food. They truly stand by their reputation. Which is cheap and unprofessional. I do not for any circumstance recommend this yacht. Don’t be fooled by their 4 – 5 star reviews. Be careful!!!

I only wish there were more than 5 stars. CYNB came up on my venue search on whatever wedding app I was using, I sent an info request assuming it would be out of my budget. Ariel responded and followed up with me several times until I was convinced to just meet with her. I was so impressed by her professionalism, friendliness and genuine enthusiasm for the service she provides. I was equally impressed by the beautiful Icon and then blown away by the price. I will end up spending less, making fewer decisions, coordinating almost nothing myself and not compromising on the things we really want. All that and our friends and family will enjoy a beautiful sunset harbor cruise with delicious food, an awesome DJ and countless pictures to remember it all. I still have a year before my wedding and the only thing I have to do is find my dress and then go to food and cake tastings later this summer. My advice to newly engaged couples — call Ariel.

What a great place! Great boats and a great reception area. The staff is friendly and the service that this place offers is very unique. Large events, weddings, funerals, Xmas parties anything you need this place is awesome!

We were lucky enough to have our good friends invite us to their Birthday Dinner party on the yachts. Our boat was the ICON and the dinner was very very good. We had a host bar and the drinks were poured generously. There was a beautiful dinner area upstairs with a lounge below. We got to go up front and bask in Great California December weather for a little while.
The service was very good and the tables and center pieces were all very elegant. If I were going to do a small wedding or formal party, I could see doing it with Charter Yachts…

Had my wedding on the icon. Leslie was wonderful the whole time. Everything was flawless she never let me know of any issue, insuring my day was nothing but special. The photographer kip was wonderful and accommodating. With any event things happened, every staff member was amazing to make sure every guest on board was well taken care of at all times. Leslie made sure all of my belongings were transfered and accounted for at all times. From the moment we began planning until 2 days after oir event when we left cars on property when we were not allowed, everything was perfectly handled. Thank you to EVERY crew member and Leslie… anyone looking for something to really wow your guests this is the company to go with. Every one of my guests were wowed!!!

We celebrated our birthdays aboard the ICON last weekend. Everything was perfect. Having been planning parties myself for (30) years, Ariel is truly a dream to work with. Her attention to detail speaks volumes. Our guests are still raving about the fore party at the Yacht Club, the ICON itself, the superb food, the drinks and the impeccable service. Kudos to you all.

OMG! We had our business holiday party at the water front lounge on Saturday night and it was fantastic! The venue is beautiful, the food was outrageous and the boat parade on the harbor was SO pretty! Ariel was our coordinator and she made everything amazing!!! She is super sweet, so helpful and accommodating to all requests!

Yesterday my company hosted their holiday party aboard the ICON. What a wonderful experience that was. The customer service was outstanding and the food AMAZING. Ariel was our coordinator for this event. On board our crew was: Norm, Lee, Chris and Britni.

Our company had our Holiday Christmas party last night, and let me tell you, Not one person has given me any negative feed back this year. I can honestly say this was the best Holiday party ATEN has thrown in a long time. I totally recommend this venue to anyone that wants to have a great time, and just the holiday views of all the houses and building decorated for Christmas was a sight to see as well. I would like to give a special thank you to Ariel who was our coordinator throughout the whole planning of this event, she was beyond excellent and sooo sweet. She was able to make it work for us on the budget we had and every thing was outstanding. I also want to give a big shout to Daniel, our DJ for the evening. If you want to have a great time, he’s the man. Very interactive with the guests which was a plus. I never seen our employees and guest so excited and having a great time. Also, thank you to all the staff and crew members for a wonderful evening. I hope we will be able to do this again in the future.

We had our wedding 3 months ago and are still raving about it!
In January we meant with Ariel «just to look» at an option for our upcoming wedding. Before going in we were dead set not to book the first venue we saw… but we could not help ourselves. This place is beautiful and the service was incredible. Ariel was our wedding coordinator who turned into a friend. She was there ever step of the way with us. She is highly organized and will take your vision and turn it into reality.
The Icon staff and selected vendors are top notch. Each and every person we worked with for the last year were responsible, professional and always willing to help. We are still hearing what an amazing night our guests had and we could not agree more.
If you are looking for an elegant, classy and all inclusive wedding venue this would definitely be it. Oh and did we mention you get the cruise the Newport Beach Harbor while getting married to the one you love?! What more could you ask for? Thank you again Ariel and the Icon staff for a night we will never forget. We only hope to be a guest to a wedding here someday!

Worst experience ever! LOTS of EMPTY PROMISES! I hired most of their vendors thinking I’d trust them to be professional and have experienced vendors. Sad but I was mislead. DJ Daniel was hired as my Dj! He never showed up instead a gentleman that look like he got picked up from off the streets to make some extra cash showed up. They act like all they want is your money then act like your money is nothing. I had my wedding here 11÷22÷15. I was told many lies. Leslie told me she has only missed one wedding meaning that she is going to be at our wedding no doubt about it! 4 days before my wedding she states she won’t be able to make due to another event she has to attend. She also mention to me that she is having nightmares about my wedding. WOW! How sweet of you to tell that to the bride. She acts as if it’s her 100^th wedding she has planned meaning to her it’s just another wedding and doesn’t care about how important it is to make this day memorable. Meanwhile I’m all excited because this is my one and only wedding! I was told by the owner I’m asking for too much and I stated I don’t feel as if I am. Then he stated «those are the ones who do.» Well thanks because when I first booked my venue I was promised this will be everything I want and it’ll be great! I was told their was going to be someone at the valet parking directing my guest where to park he was no where to be seen. Therefore everyone parked in the parking meters after I was already charged for my guest to valet. The vendors are not recommend other then the photographer RON. He was the only amazing person! They recommend these terrible vendors with lack of experience. Leslie will pretend to be your friend then show her true colors. She was hired as my wedding coordinator and didn’t play her role. Made me cry multiple times even got to the point where I got sick 4 days before the wedding due to Leslie and her empty promises. I had a migraine and was throwing up for 2 days straight! I could go on forever, but I’ll leave it as that. God blessed Leslie. I’m blessed I won’t ever have to talk to her again! The worst person I’ve ever come across in my life!

I want to thank you and the entire Icon staff for the incredible wedding, dinner, party, cake, and photographer.
The flowers were beautiful. Everything was just perfect. Kip was very relaxing and made the whole picture process enjoyable.
I was out of my head with excitement and you did a wonderful job of all the details. Haha, I didn’t even notice there was still a pin in my dress from alterations that was cutting my leg all night. Everyone pointed it out to me the next day on the beach. It was honestly a beautiful stress free amazing celibration for the both of us.
All our guests loved the dinner and appetizers that were served. Everything was delicious. The cake from Creative Cakes was just what we wanted, beach themed, and absolutely delicious! Everyone loved the cake. How can anyone complain about cake anyway, lol.
The dj was great and all requested songs were played.
It would be difficult for me not to have had the time of my life on my wedding day with the people I love most at my side. However Leslie, it was you that made all the details come together to make it so special for all that were there sharing the day with us.

What a great job these people did hosting a party for a friend. Excellent service, beautiful yacht, the Icon. The crew was exceptional, catering yummy stuff. Great experience!

We just had our wedding on the ICON and we have nothing but great things to say. From the day we met with Ariel to the day after the wedding. Everything was above and beyond from the staff to the service and all the vendors involved. Ariel really had the attention to detail we were looking for in a all-​inclusive venue. Ariel, Amalia, and Emily made everything run smoothly and effortlessly for us. The photographer and DJ were exceptional. We had nothing but great compliments from our guest on how great the complete service was and how delicious the food was. We want to thank everyone at Charter Yachts of Newport Beach for giving us these great memories we will cherish forever!

Our team had a very good experience while working here. The views were amazing and the food was delicious. The decorations were very pretty and the service was nice.

We picked this venue for our 40^th Annual Professional Organization Event. We already worked with this company two years ago. However, this year we had a much more better experience.
I worked with the event Coordinator Ariel. She was very professional, friendly, flexible, and went above and beyond to make our special event more fun and that everything goes smoothly. I even remember calling her on her cell phone which she continued to respond quickly even on her day off. This shows she is very motivated and enthusiasm towards her job. I really appreciate that.
We had 100 guests for that evening. We booked the venue for drinks, appetizer before getting on the boat. We had vendors who attended.
The dinner, and entertainment was on the boat. It was buffet style. We ordered salads, vegetables, risotto, fish, pasta and filet mignon. Everyone went for seconds. They did an amazing job w/​the food. It was very delicious. We also did food tasting few wks before event.
Everyone had a wonderful time. I want to thank all the staff for making our event very special special. Our organization would definitely like to book this place for our future events.

I hosted my engagement party at ICON and it was amazing! The service was impeccable and unbelievably accommodating for a party of 40 people. Ariel (Organizer) was the best, and other yachts should have their level of service.
Onto the food — we had a buffet and everything was delicious. I recommend going for dinner or hosting a party. You will never regret it.

If I could give Charter yachts 11 stars out of 5, I would. WOW, is all I can say. I speak from the bottom of my heart when I say this — if you’re looking for the absolute best yacht company for your event — stop right here. You’ve found it.
I’m rarely moved to leave a review of a company, let alone a positive one (see my other Unilocal reviews… LOL) but in this case I couldn’t wait to get home after my event and write this, as a ‘thank you’ to both Charter Yachts and our amazing coordinator Leslie.
What. A. Day. The event was my fiancé’s 40^th birthday party, and from the start I knew I wanted it to be a surprise party. My guy’s in a rock band and so the most important thing to me was to have rock music playing at the party. Charter Yachts were fine with this, and even let me do a ‘sound check’ on the yacht a week beforehand so I could test the sound system.
Here’s a breakdown of my experience with the company. I hope this helps someone plan their own wedding/​party with Charter Yachts!
The Budget:
From the start, I told the company that I had a limited budget. Leslie was great and very patient going through all my options. She met with me multiple times to go through every option, from the food and decorations, to the cake and the music. This was very helpful and stopped me from going over budget.
Our Coordinator:
Leslie is the Goddess of organization. I changed my mind constantly about food, no. of guests etc. Leslie responded promptly to my emails and calls, then sent an updated invoice with each change I made, so I could keep track of how much I was spending. Throughout all this she was fun to work with, and was always cheerful, easy-​going and genuinely upbeat — I looked forward to chatting with her each time & she seemed just as excited about my event as I was!
The Yacht:
Get the ICON. Just do it; trust me on this. I visited all the other local yacht companies, and no other yacht compares to the ICON without charging 5-​digit rental fees. The price is outstanding for what you get — a 120-​foot luxury yacht, with elegant modern interior styling, a marble-​topped bar & granite bathrooms, an impressive lounge with designer deco, surround-​sound system, and flat-​screen TVs throughout. I inspected every inch of the boat and it looked squeaky clean & new. I was told they repaint regularly to keep the boat in tip-​top shape.
Organization:
Charter Yachts is a one-​stop-​shop for everything you need for your event. You’re welcome to supply your own cake, photographer, DJ etc, but if you don’t want the hassle, they give the option to use their vendors, which is a real time-​saver.
The Big Surprise:
The big surprise went PERFECTLY. My fiancé thought he was going on a romantic gondolier ride for his 40^th birthday, not knowing that the gondolier was set up by Charter yachts as the world’s greatest fake-​out! Imagine my fiancé’s surprise when a HUGE yacht sailed past our gondolier, & all his best friends jumped up on the bow, shouted ‘SURPRISE!” & sung happy birthday! He was blown away!
Our gondolier docked on the ICON — mid-​water — and we climbed on board like rock stars, helped by uniformed yacht attendants. Upstairs in the cocktail lounge, the party was in full swing with his favorite tunes on the sound system, an open bar, fresh trays of fruit & cheese lying around and an ocean breeze in the air. Just seeing the look on his face when he saw all this made everything worth it!

The Food:
Chef David did an outstanding job on the food, which was delicious & cooked to perfection. We had seared chicken breast and pork tenderloin with pan-​seared veggies, served with garlic mash and big hunks of freshly baked bread. Everyone remarked how delicious the food was. Compliments to the chef! There was even a fresh coffee station & tiny booze-​filled cupcakes!
The Cake:
Cinderella Cakes made my cake & cupcakes (Leslie hooked me up with them and helped me place my order) and I was impressed with how both turned out. I ordered chocolate birthday cake with a little model motorcycle on top (my guy loves KTM motorcycles). My fiancé couldn’t believe I got him a KTM cake!
The After-​Party:
If you have a daytime event at CYNB, I highly recommend you reserve an outdoors patio table at the Rusty Pelican (about 2 blocks away) after the event. After the party, it was so easy to move our cars 2 doors down so we could keep partying.
We watched the sun go down at the Pelican over a round of drinks, and agreed that it had been the perfect day. My financé was on cloud nine and said that he will remember his magical 40^th birthday forever.
To sum up, if you’re looking for the best yacht & events company in Newport Beach, you’ve found it! I’m writing this 2 months later and the compliments from our guests are still flowing in. I’ll be singing CYNB’s praises for a long time, and myself & my fiancé will remember this party for the rest of our lives.

So I don’t know how much anything costs so I can’t really say, but for the quality of the service, I have a few things to say: amazing and pleasant!
Friend had a 30^th birthday dapper party, the bartenders were really nice, always there to help take pictures or to keep my drink flowing! :)
Food here was delicious too, plenty to go around, made fresh and definitely need that with the free flowing drinks! :)
The actual location is right next to Joe’s Crab Shack, near Tustin, once you’re facing the crab shack, just walk left and you’ll see a sign that says Charters Yacht. From how much fun I had, i would definitely recommend checking it out! :)

If your looking for the best wedding venue with the friendliest and most professional staff in the world, you have found it!!! My wife and I booked our wedding about a year before hand and just got married last Friday 10÷10÷14.
Leslie was our coordinator with Ariel as her assistant. These two were simply amazing! I still can’t believe the effort they put in. They both had sweet positive attitudes from the minute we put down our deposit and through all the craziness of the wedding day. My wife bought about 300 glow sticks for our reception and as we were putting them together on the yacht, Leslie insisted to let the staff take care of it and to go enjoy ourselves. They were very patient with our 2 little ring bearers and 2 flower girls. I could write for days about how awesome these two ladies are. We could’ve asked for a better coordinator.
Chef David was true to his word! The food was the best wedding food I have ever had. It was served warm, and not over or under cooked. We ordered the garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, chicken roulade and salmon with strawberry mint salmon. Almost everyone of our guests made a point to mention how amazing the salmon was! Chef David even made a point to come shake my hand and say congratulations!
DJ Daniel was awesome! Don’t be intimidated by the 7 page paperwork he asks you to fill out. It’s well worth it! He played every song we requested and asked for. He put microphones on our minister and myself for the ceremony so all our guests could hear us clearly. He ever played our «Bears Still Suck» song in honor of all the Packer fans we had attending.
Lee, the owner of Charter Yachts is one of the nicest most laid back guys I have ever met. He was there to answer all our questions from day 1. He was also there on our wedding day helping with a smile on his face!
The entire staff at Charter Yachts was more than amazing. From the bartenders, to the servers and everyone else were great. They all had positive attitudes with smiles on their faces. They also made it a top priority to make sure some of the appetizers were put aside for my wife and I before dinner.
I can’t thank Charter Yachts enough for making our special day absolutely perfect!
