Vance was super nice and helpful. The part took a while to come but that was because of the vendor’s fault, they were just lagging on shipment. At first, the part he ordered wasn’t quite working, I guess it was defective or something. So he the most unbelievable thing and took money out of his own pocket to buy me a second one. It turns out, he actually lost money on the transaction since he had to order the parts twice and that already exceeded the price I paid them originally! I really do recommend for anyone, especially a college student like me where money is tough!

A few months earlier, I took a friend here to get his phone fixed and from what I heard from him, they did a very poor job in fixing his phone and he even had to come in again immediately after getting his phone back because they did a poor job fixing it. I didn’t think much of it until I had to come in and get my iPhone 6 screen replaced.
Originally, the guys working there were all very nice and treated me appropriately. I sent in my phone and got it back later that day. I instantly noticed that the screen did not fit right. It was slightly bulging out one side of the screen but I didnt make too much of it because the phone functioned properly and that’s all that really mattered. It soon turned out to be a mistake in trusting it. Since then, I havent dropped my phone on any hard surfaces. Just the other day, I dropped it on carpet and noticed there was a small crack on the bottom of my screen. A crack from dropping it on carpet? From about 2 feet off the ground? How???
I immediately noticed that the bottom half of my screen was no longer responding to my touch and that my home button was making a very weird clicking sound every time i hit it and occasionally my lock button doesnt click. How? How could all this happen just from dropping it ONCE on carpet, not even hard ground?

They have the best price around no one can beat. LCD and screen was renewed back to original form. Staff is great! I dropped off my phone and they said they would call me when they were finished. They ended up staying after the store was closed to finish fixing my phone. I highly recommend!

I’ve been using Unilocal for 3 – 4 years now (didn’t make an account until August ’14) and I never had a real reason to review a business. until now. This is going to be long so please bare with me.
I had a lot of hopes for Android Genius when I first came in. I did my research; I read the reviews, looked at pictures, asked around, and everything looked great. I came in early January to get my phone screen fixed (Moto X Pure) and after a bit of talking and «negotiating» with the technician, Chris I think, I was able to get the logistics about how I could get my phone fixed. I was told it would be roughly $ 70 for the screen and another $ 40 for the service. Not the greatest price but I needed my phone fixed so I said okay. He then told me it would take about 4 – 5 weeks until I could get my phone back. This was understandable since the Moto X Pure was a new phone so they had to order the parts from China. Again, I wasn’t happy about it but hey, I had no choice. After paying, I left and that was that.
At the end of January I get a call letting me know that my phone was fixed. I was in a bit of a rush because I had class so I didn’t have time to really look at the phone for mistakes from the technician. I picked it up and left right away – which was stupid of me. As I sat in the car and looked at the phone, it was very noticeable that the screen was not put on correctly. The entire left side of the screen was not completely on the phone. It wasn’t enough for the screen not to work, but a noticeable error nonetheless. After everyday usage of the phone for a couple of weeks, the error became more and more apparent – to the point where the bottom ¼th of my phone was no longer useable. I called in the same day and asked them what I could do about it. Another technician picked up and told me that – and I’m paraphrasing here, «If it the problem is from the technician, the service will be free.» I came in the next day and after just a few minutes, we had all agreed that it was in fact the fault of the technician and the service would be at no charge.
Fast-​forward two weeks I am notified that my phone is ready. I come to the store and there is no one there. I wait 20 minutes before I call the technician. He tells me that he is out on important business and cannot come in. I’m annoyed but whatever, things happen. The next day I come in around 3:00 PM and again, no one is there. I call and the technician notifies me that he will be 30 minutes. Annoyed again, but hey at least he said he’ll be coming this time right? I wait until 4:30 and call again, he then tells me – once again, I’m paraphrasing, «I’m sorry, there should be another technician there. I’m on my way.» AGAIN, I’m annoyed. At this point I’ve already waited here for an hour, I might as well just stay until he comes. He finally gets there around 5:00 and lets me in. I come in and the screen is put on correctly this time but it is obvious that super glue was used to get the screen to stay on correctly. A bit sketchy but hey, it was working fine – at the time. Just as I’m about to leave I notice a huge mistake… my SIM Card tray/​holder was missing. Two questions: 1) Why would you need to remove my SIM Card tray (on top of the phone) to fix the SCREEN? 2) How does a phone repair store lose something so essential to a phone? I was extremely furious at this point but I get it, mistakes happen (they were really testing my patience at this point lol). Chris was not here at the time so another technician informed me that they would call me as soon as they found it.
One week later and it is now late February; still without my Moto X Pure and still waiting for a call from Android Genius about my missing SIM Card tray. I had no choice but to call them to get an update on the status of the tray. I was told that they were not able to find it and had stopped looking. At this point I’m just done with this place. It wasn’t until I called THEM that they notified me that they had stopped looking. How unprofessional can you be? After a bit of yelling over the phone, the technician finally agreed to pay for a new SIM Card tray. Of course, since the part is from China, I was forced to wait at least 3 – 4 weeks before my phone could be operational again.
I finally get a call on March 17^th to come in to the store. I immediately come in, get the SIM Card tray, and just leave. At this point, I was just fed up with the entire business. After everything that had happened, I still didn’t even plan on writing a bad review about them. However, just a few weeks ago, my phone started to act up again – there is no doubt in my mind that the service was faulty again. The screen is no longer operable and the buttons don’t work. I’m deeply disappointed in Android Genius. This business put me through four months of complete hell. From being forced to drive back and forth to having to call every day just to get an update on THEIR mistakes. The worst part of all of this, my phone still inoperable.

I got here at 5:30pm. They close at 6pm which is fine, but I had the WORST customer service ever.
Usually Brandon helps me out and he is great but once I walked in Chris was in the store.
He had two customers in which I understand needed his help but Chris was just waiting on someone to go ahead and answer their question for him by someone else I assume. The other two customers and I sat there for 20 minutes in which Chris did not even use his customer service skills.
Not once did he address me for what or if I needed anything.
Was ignored the whole time and now it’s 6:15pm and I am writing this review because I have always sent them customers from T-​Mobile store down the streets and other cliental.
I feel as if I deserve at least acknowledgment.
I just want to fix my phone like they assured it would be done !

Horrible! I brought my laptop for a charging port repair. It took 2 weeks and after picking it up, my cooling fan is not working. Very disappointing! Waste of time and money.

Service is fast, friendly and honest. Great place to get your devices fixed or sold. Had my screen fixed. But they can fix water damage, locked phones… and just about anything.

My Samsung Galaxy S5 screen got cracked, so I called around to a few repair shops in the Newport/​Costa Mesa/​Irvine area to find the best repair shop, instead of shipping it off to Samsung for repair, because I needed it done quickly. Luckily, Android Genius was close by, and they took care of me right away (I picked a time when they were not busy). The repair was 100% successful and the price was very close to the original quote.
Chris and Vance were great, and they accurately described the process before starting the work, gave me the most likely price range for the job, and explained the probability that the process of removing the old glass could damage the underlying LCD (it could happen with bad cracks) and what that would entail to fix it. Feeling confident they knew what they were talking about and had plenty of experience with my phone model, I proceeded with the repair. Throughout the process, Vance was extremely conscientious about the repair quality and my satisfaction with the work performed.
Overall, I had a very good experience with Android Genius, and I highly recommend them for any screen repair. I have read the other negative reviews, and I feel that many are isolated situations, that do not reflect the true attitude and care shown by employees and the company.

Android Genius saved my phone. Had a broken Lcd (through no fault of my own, didnt drop/​black screen) and Chris helped me fix it !
Turnaround time at Samsung 9 – 11 days
Dropped my phone off at this shop and they had it for me next day !

Was referred to this shop by a friend… my sister’s pink iPhone 5c was having problems. We brought it here and Christopher Crawford helped us out right away. Turns out it was a bad LCD so they replaced it and we were in and out quick! My sister decided on a white LCD and cover on her 5c and it looks awesome!
Shout outs to Chris at Android Genius – will definitely return in the future!

I came into those guys and my phone was flashing like a police car I was so scared that I might lose everything in my phone what happened to my phone that got damaged by water I want to Apple Store they wanted to $ 299 I called my insurance company they wanted from me 175 so I came into those really genius guys and they fixed it for me for 50 bucks they made me really happy on top of that they were really funny anyway no appointments like Apple you don’t get to wait two hours three hours those guys fixed it for me with an matter of 25 minutes

Loved this dudes were epic !!! #thereisntabetterplace they repaired my iPhone 6 from the dead. It was literally dead. Thanks guys!

Wow ! This place ROCKS! Vance was awesome ! My 15 year old tripped over our cat Buster & shattered the glass on his phone. We found Android Genius & we got it repaired in less then 24 hours! It’s just like new. My son was so HAPPY he even included a tip…
I would come agin !

Went in for a glass only repair on my s5. The guy agreed on a price of $ 90 said he couldn’t guarantee that the LCD might not be damaged in the process and that he would have to charge me for the cost of this if it happened. I thought okay fair enough.
Was told it would take until the end of the day (I dropped my phone off around 11:30AM) or early tomorrow morning. In my head, I’m thinking WHY — every other place can repair it within an hour frame, but I was already here and let him know I would need it before 5PM. «I’ll do my best» he said.
Gave him a call around 3PM to ask about the progress and was told that the adhesive for my screen was supposed to come to the office today, but the package has been delayed so it would take until late tomorrow to get it fixed. I was offered a $ 10 discount if I wanted to come back the next day. NO THANK YOU.
I drove all the way back to the store and picked up my phone. Why don’t you check and make sure you have the parts on hand before assuring the customer that their phone will be ready for pick up within the time frame you originally promised? And how offensive to only offer a $ 10 discount for your lack of professionalism?
I wasted time and gas only to have nothing repaired. What a joke of a place. Don’t be like me and give them the benefit of the doubt when the bad reviews should deter you away in the first place.

My daughter dropped her iPad and was totally debased because the screen cracked. I asked my brother if he can help me get it fixed. He brought it and was helped by Brandon. He did an awesome job and I would definitely refer to everyone. Thank you so much!!!

Sometimes I wonder how businesses stay in business.
I called these guys on two separate occasions about rooting my att lg g3. The first time the guy told me it could take 24 – 48 hrs, huh? For a simple root? When I pressed him on it, he said well if you bring it in when our lead software tech is here, it can be done in 40 mins. Ok thx dude, why didn’t you say that in the first place? Do you think most people can go two days without their phone? I left my # and he said they’d call me back and let me know a good time to come in. Never got a call…
The next week I called again and asked if I could bring it in and they said the lead software tech wasn’t there (does this guy ever work??), but they’d take my number and call me back. 3 days later and they still haven’t called so I said F them, and found a different place. I went to robomobile cell phone repair right down the street and the guy was super helpful, rooted my phone in 10 minutes and I was on my way.
I would give these guys 2 stars for wasting my time but they led me to finding the other repair shop (who I will now use to fix my old MBP) so +1 for that haha :)

I dropped my Galaxy S4 once too many times but had a warranty through Costco. Took it in to Android Genius​and yes, there were some bad marks, but more good ones.
Went in and four hours later the phone is all fixed. Thumbs up.

I was completely ripped off!!! Paid $ 150 for a new LCD Screen. It lasted a month. I was repeatedly blamed for the screen’s failure. All they wanted to do was get rid of me. Now that I read all their reviews I see why…
Brendon’s business model has become obvious to many dissatisfied customers in the past. They say he buys inferior electronics from China and then slams it in your phone and when it fails, charges you more money just to tell you there’s nothing they can do or will do to back up your data or his warranty. Brendon is described in three words by one customer as is the whole Android Genius staff as unprofessional, immature and rude.
Brendon was even kind enough to threaten me with the cops numerous times trying to come up with some way to flip the script while I was in his store saying he felt threatened by me or I had refused to leave. The funny this was he illegally tape records every conversation without consent and threatened to make websites about me using my illegally recorded private personal call to his business where I stated my position about his terrible service and awful result is something he’d post online to somehow make me look bad, if I retaliated by giving him bad reviews and reporting him to consumer affairs of Newport Beach and The State Of California and litigating, all of which I promised and will promptly deliver.
Yes, this is a business you’ll want to avoid at all costs! I have been robbed by some businesses before but Brendon even held my phone hostage after breaking it and charged me more money because he knew I wanted the data on it. My precious photos and contacts. He wouldn’t even get them for me without more charges.
It was an escalated con. Charge me a bunch of money to install a new screen which lasted a month, when it fails, blame me, then demand more money to save my data and refuse to live up to the LIFETIME WARRANTY, then try to charge more money to pull off my data and when I refuse to do that, hold my phone hostage for… you guessed it! MORE MONEY in the form of a diagnostic fee. Absolute piece of work, the owner Brandon is! I was forced after buying a large memory card, a new LCD screen, a case and a bigger SIM card to abandon the phone, which was an Android S4 Active, for a new $ 1000 IPhone.
Thanks a lot Android Genius, your name is a joke. Your service is a joke. You are a really all just a bad joke!

The three words that best describe this business and its staff? Rude, irresponsible, and immature.
I turned in my phone on a Saturday to have the battery manually charged since the charging port had malfunctioned, and I needed to retrieve my photos before I sent the device in for a manufacturer’s warranty replacement. I returned to pick it up on the following Tuesday to find that it had not been charged yet, despite being told that it would be done Monday. Considering that the waiting room smelled of a distinct herbal substance when I entered, I’m not surprised that they had forgotten about it. Fine, I’ll run some errands and come back later. When I returned in a few hours to pick up my phone, not only was it only partially charged, but they also informed me that they had lost the power button from my phone. So how long will it take to find, I ask? «It’s lost, so I can’t really tell you if it will be five minutes, a half hour, or an hour, can I?» Then he added that it was unlikely that it would ever be found because they had just swept the floor and taken out the trash. Ok…
As I explain that this is a problem for me because manufacturer’s warranty replacement does not cover physical damage to the phone, the staff member becomes more and more defensive, and the conversation starts to take on a hostile and uncomfortable tone. They make no attempt to rectify the situation whatsoever, and all of a sudden I’m the bad guy. In an attempt to settle things I suggest that I pay a partial amount of the bill, since I got a partially charged phone back that now has a missing button. This was flat out refused, and I end up with no choice but to pay in full and walk out angry with my broken phone.
As I get to my car and look back inside the store, the unprofessional twenty-​something guys are having a good laugh together about it. Go ahead buddy, laugh it up. Twist up another fatty. Good luck trying to run a successful business with that kind of attitude.
