History
Established in 1960.
The OD as it’s fondly called was built by Jerry O’Mahony, Inc. of New Jersey. Legend has it that the diner was first opened for business in Massachussets and was brought to it’s current location in 3 pieces: big side, small side and dining room. It is known as the longest diner in the US. Open 364 days a year, 24 hours a day with the running joke on Christmas Eve being «Who knows where the key is to lock the door?»
In 1984 the back dining room was added to accomodate the overflow of customers, particularly on Sunday mornings and during the late night weekend «bar rush».
In the late 90’s the decision was made to close at midnight.
