Corben Optometry

Always easy to get an appointment. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I see Dr. Josh, but have seen Dr. Michael once or twice. Both are very thorough and explain everything as they do the tests. I have referred many of my neighbors and friends and have yet to hear a bad word about Corben Optometry. Everyone loves them.

I have been a patient with Corben Optometry for over 15 years now. I would definitely recommend them if you need help with your vision. Their entire team is friendly and knowledgeable — they’re always willing to help.

These optometrists are great. Dr. Joshua Corben suggested changing
my contact lenses so I could also read, rather than have dozens of pairs
of readers all over the house. It worked!!!
I have Kaiser and could go there, but prefer the personal service here
even though I have to pay for it.
My only negative is the lack of caring on the part of the staff. They
often don’t call when your lenses are in, and when you call they say
«oh, they just came in». I have paid in advance for contacts only to
find out they were not ordered the day I paid; in fact they were
ordered when I called in to check status and then were told
«they are on backorder». They need to be more customer oriented.

It’s hard to believe they genuinely care, I called to make an appointment and being that I will be paying through medical they pushed any available appointment 3 months from today. I understand the one customer a day policy for medical users but I sincerely doubt they are booked every working day till September 25. Unbelievable. I’m making an appointment because I need a new prescription being I can’t see well driving at night and they expect customers to wait 3 months? As much as I’d like to give them my service it’s just not possible. It seems if your not paying cash or with good insurance you don’t matter to them even though I would have purchased my lenses with them. Inequality at its best.

I understand that this is a family owned small business, and I understand the monetary need to pay overhead and payroll… but I will never visit this office because they are overpriced, their customer service is horrible, and my last glasses order took twice as long as it should have. I want to support small businesses but next time I need new specs I will be going to Costco or Walmart… even though I don’t like supporting large corporate entities.

Very disappointed in customer service. When I called to make my appointment I asked what documents I needed to bring in since it was my first time with a new insurance. The receptionist assured me someone would call me the day before to give me that information. No one ever contacted me, so I called the morning of and had to end up canceling my appointment because I was missing something from my insurance, mind you they «were not sure» what document I actually needed.

I am at Dr. Corben right now. It is 10:31 my appt was at 10 and I’ve been waiting since 10. After waiting over 20 minutes I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She was kind of rude and just said they were waiting for a room to open. They finally took me in at 1033. This is ridiculous! No apology. Nothing. This is a recheck. I told the same receptionist when I made the appt that I had another appt the same day and she assured me that it is very quick and I would be fine. I’ve been coming to this clinic for over 20 years. I moved away for a decade and decided when I moved back to come back here. I’m willing to give the Dr. 3 stars because they are great but the staff makes me question whether I will be returning. And let me emphasize that I work as a receptionist at a medical clinic. Anytime I have a patient that’s been waiting for a long period of time I check to see what is going on and apologize to them for the inconvenience. This is just bad customer service. Btw its 1040 and I still have yet to be seen by a doctor!!!
–I am now changing my review to 5 stars. While waiting, Dr. Corben saw my Unilocal review and came right into my room. He was sincerely apologetic and I really appreciate that. Like I said before the doctors are great! I also want to mention that the same receptionist did apologize for the wait. Thank you for rectifying the situation Dr. Corben.

Excellent optometrists. I like the older Corben personally. He takes his time with the exam. Arianna is great and the technician who does the adjustments is helpful. My family has been coming here for five years.

An attractive, comfortable facility with a very attentive staff and the latest equipment. The very painstaking and thorough Dr. Michael Corben is their best asset. When my annual exam came up, I was interested in exploring the use of contact lenses that could be left in my eyes overnight. Dr. Corben tried me out with several brands of lenses designed for that purpose, insisting that I return each time so he could check them out for any problems. It turned out that I could not tolerate overnight wear, but he spent considerable time trying to accommodate my whim. I also like the little spray bottles of lens cleaning fluid and the travel-​size bottles of contact lens solution they hand out.

I find Corben Optometry to be a great place to do my annual eye exam. The doctors and staff are very friendly and informative.

I love this office especially Jackie! I have been going to this office for years and have referred many of my family and co-​workers. I’ve always been treated with the upmost respect and professionalism from the doctors and the front desk.
My 6 year old recently got glasses and couldn’t be happier. Jackie spent plenty of time helping us pick out the perfect frames. I can’t say enough about the staff and doctors.

Love these two Drs! Dr. Michael and Dr Joshua Corben are the best eye drs in Santa Clarita. Always taking really good care of their patients. The office staff can be on their own worlds sometimes, but nice. Nice selection of spectacles and convenient location.

Dr. Joshua Corben was recommended to me from a good friend. I have never worn prescription glass and was a little nervous at what to expect. I needed something for reading and purchased a pair of «cheaters» which worked well but I knew one eye was better than the other and this could not last long. The staff was fantastic and worked with my insurance flawlessly and Dr. Corben tweaked my prescription so my glasses would be better suited for working on my computer which I do for hours at a time.
If you are in the Santa Clarita area and need and optometrist, do yourself a favor and see Dr. Corben.

Dr. Josh is great — I’ve been coming here for 10 years now and always receive a accurate, comprehensive exam. And a big plus — Dr Josh has become more personable over the years.
But two stars overall for the bad staff and experience they create — they genuinely do Not want you to be there.
