History

Established in 2010.

Dr. Edwards completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California with a degree in Biological Sciences cum laude.

He began his lifelong commitment to dentistry at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. The dental school prides iteself on clincial excellence and is an excellerated program. Dr. Edwards received the Quintessence Restorative Award for outstanding performance in clinical dentistry, OKU Clinical Excellence Award for removable prosthodontics, and the Fredrick T. West Clinical Award for outstanding performance in all five pre-​doctoral Orthodontic courses.

Dr. Edwards practiced in Orange County, CA for several years before returning to his hometown of Valencia, CA to raise his family. Dr. Edwards loves practicing in the Los Angeles area and is excited to share his passion of dentistry with you too!

When Dr. Edwards worked in the valley, I went to him. Now he is just too far away with my schedule :(but he is the BEST dentist I’ve ever had. I had such a severe phobia of the dentist due to bad childhood experiences that I had to drug myself with xanax to even get myself in the office. Dr. Edwards cured that fear. He was so patient with me and SO nice. He let me have breaks whenever I wanted and explained everything he was doing. I now can go to the dentist and get dental work done without taking xanax. I used to say that if I ever needed a root canal I would rather have my tooth pulled because I was too scared. Now I have even had one of those. I owe part of that to him. If I could make the drive out there, I would still go to him.

I knew Dr. Edwards was my new dentist as soon as I left my consultation. For the first time in at least 10 years, a dentist explained exactly what I needed to have done, gave me a few options, and then took the time to make sure I understood the situation I was in. Dr. Edwards understands it’s not easy to hear that your teeth are a wreck. I am sensitive when it comes to my teeth since I never had a hard time keeping my teeth beautiful and healthy… until I started taking medication as an adult. My teeth have suffered immensely thanks to the dry mouth most medications can cause. During my appointment, I was given a sheet listing all of the medications that cause dry mouth. I cannot simply stop taking medication because it allows me to live a much better life. Who wants to potentially lose their teeth though!!! I was obviously facing a huge dilemma.
I feel so much better now that I have actually started my dental work. So far, I have had a root canal on one of my front teeth and a cavity filled on another tooth in the front. I have had root canals before, but this was the first time I nearly fell asleep during the procedure! We are offered headphones to listen to music so we can kind of forget we are sitting in a dentist’s chair… that worked! I didn’t feel any pain or roughness whatsoever during the procedure. I am not exaggerating about nearly falling to sleep! Most recently, when I had a front cavity filled, I had zero pain or annoyances. I didn’t need to have a root canal on that tooth as I expected. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Edwards maintains his honesty and stops when he can instead of seeming to just do as much expensive work as possible because so many of us don’t have decent dental coverage these days.
In closing, I also need to express my gratitude to the other reviewers because you guys are the reason I decided to see Dr. Edwards in the first place. Thanks to his willingness to really explain the choices I had coupled with his sensitivity to patients’ emotions, I am no longer afraid of losing what can sometimes seem like one of the only things I still have going for me — my smile.

I have NEVER had a dentist take as much time explaining procedures and preventative measures as Dr. Edwards. He was so informative, very easy to talk to and extremely thorough. His assistant Kelsey was easy to talk to and very attentive. I am very happy I chose Dr. Edwards and his office as our new family dentist. It’s always hard to find new doctors you trust when you move to a new town.

Having Dr. Edwards as your dentist is a completely unique experience that I have absolutely not seen anywhere else. The atmosphere is the office is extremely welcoming and includes a tour. I have not had a dentist or any doctors spend the kind of time with me that Dr. Edwards spends to explain the work as well as to provide you with dental health education. They even offer you shaded glasses and a warm neck compress for your relaxation. His professionalism, dental knowledge, friendly demeanor and genuine, caring approach makes him the best dentist our family has ever had the pleasure of using, hands down!

I moved north and so did Dr. Edwards and because of how hard it is to find a great dentist I have stayed with him since he was practicing in Ladera Ranch. He has settled down with his family in Valencia and while the drive still isn’t convenient, it is absolutely worth it. Dr. Edwards listens to my concerns, explained all of my options in plain English and has always taken great care of me. The staff working for him and Dr. Tanner are great, they went above and beyond– offering me blankets, coffee, pillows, music… it’s better than home :) Thank you as always Dr. Edwards and team!

If you are looking for a dentist and absolutely despise the thought of even going to the dentist, then Dr. Edwards is the dentist for you. His chairside manor is, by far, the best! His patience is unbelievable! That is super important for the fearful patient! Unlike some dentists, he actually cares for the patient and not dollar signs. His attention to detail and conservative approach makes the trip to the dentist personalized and comfortable.

I really like how Dr. Edwards listened to my concerns about my smile. My bottom teeth were very crooked and had been bugging me for years. We decided Invisalign was the right option for adjusting my teeth and I’m very pleased with the results. He carefully explained what he was doing at all times and used a camera so he was able to show me before and after pictures when we were done. Thank you Dr. Edwards.
