Driving through the White Mountain area of New Hampshire on our way to Silver Lake for a little New England vacation. Took a quick look through the wine trail map and decided on two wineries that were on our route: Windroc and Flag Hill. We stopped at Windroc first and when we pulled off the side of the road we were pleasantly surprised to find a small barn-like structure sitting on the edge of a small clearing. Absolutely picturesque! When we walked up the short flight of stairs and into the quaint tasting room we were greeted by the owner/wine maker himself! We were the only ones there so had a nice leisurely tasting while we chatted with the owner. We had the opportunity to taste a variety of both whites and reds, as well as a blueberry fruit wine. We ended up buying 6 bottles(and got 10% off!) and are looking forward to sharing them with friends and family just as soon as our vacation retreat on the lake begins :)

I had a Living Social voucher for a tour, tasting, two free glasses and $ 10 off merchandise. My husband and I went there as part of my birthday. Although the winery itself is very small, the tasting section was packed with people. One of the owners gave us a rundown on how they make wine — everything from the normal varieties(pinot grigio, reds and other whites) to fruit flavored wines. We went to the tasting bar and I have to admit, my husband is NOT a wine drinker(he likes his beer). But when the woman serving said they’d taken the apple wine and mixed it with mulled spices in a crockpot, my husband perked right up and tried it. We ended up buying a bottle of the apple wine. I tried a few of the reds and whites, liked them all and bought a pinot grigio and amarone(red, very much like a merlot). We really enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend visiting this winery!
