History

Established in 1950.

Frontier Skydivers grew out of several clubs and groups that had been jumping in the Western New York area since the 1950s. Founded at a meeting in Duff’s Tavern in 1960, the club has since been affiliated with the United States Parachute Association (formerly known as the Parachute Club of America).

Thanks to the efforts of WII era pilots, we got our start. The club jumped at a number of locations throughout the area over the years including: Cambria, the town of Niagara, Orchard Park, Hamburg, Akron, Wilson, Java, Arcade and Batavia. Frontier Skydivers club jumped at Holland’s International Airport in Wilson for the first time in 1974 and has been located there since moving back from Arcade in 1988.

Our club’s friendly atmosphere brings people back year after year to see old friends and meet some new ones. We’re proud to have one of, if not, the oldest running skydiving clubs in the country
