History

Established in 2011.

Big Byte was started by Ryan Lucia in May of 2011. After a successful twelve years in sales and sales management, Ryan decided to start working for himself. Ryan started to learn computer skills at a very young age when his mother, a school teacher, would bring home her classroom Apple IIe during the summer for him to figure out how all the software worked. His love for computers, technology, gadgets and understanding how things work built over the years. As a child he enjoyed taking apart his toys to learn how they worked, and then he’d put them back together often with upgrades.

Later he learned to build computers and became the unofficial computer tech for his fraternity brothers and football teammates in college. Through his career as a salesman and manager he has always been a proponent of technology use for making cleaner presentations, better understanding data, easier sales processes, and smoother client operations.

With over a decade of sales, management, and marketing experience — with top multinational logistics, supply chain and transportation firm, DHL Express and K-​12 online education innovator, Web​Lessons​.com — his knowledge and expertise have been honed through interaction and development within the organizations and with clients such as Weyerhauser, Safeco Insurance, Paccar Financial, AT&T Wireless, Zale Corp, Cutter & Buck and many school districts around the country. To illustrate, Lucia’s more comprehensive experience arises from his responsibilities as a National Account Manager and as District Sales Manager with DHL.

Ryan works to understand his customers’ need and develops hardware and maintenance programs specific to each client.
