Ninth Wave Sailing Charters

This was by far the highlight of our trip. So incredibly relaxing. You can bring food and non alcoholic beverages on board so we got some sandwiches from port sandwiches nearby and it worked out great. Sit near the nets since only 6 can go on at once and that’s a prime time spot. We will be back for sure!

I have been on the excursion a couple of times and enjoyed it. It’s especially nice on a warm, beautiful summer day. My suggestion would be to confirm your reservations the day before. We showed up on time & were told the excursion had been canceled due to not enough people. Unfortunately we were not informed. I needed to make a return ride back for a later trip that day. In my opinion this is also more suitable for adults than children. My kids behaved just fine, but I did not feel they were necessarily welcome by the staff and the others on the boat.

If you are in Newburyport and would like to get out on the water, this is a great way to do that! I’d suggest calling and making a reservation over the phone (you may need to leave a message, they will ring you back), as the summer means big business for them and it can sell out.
The catamaran leaves twice a day mid-​morning and mid-​afternoon for 90 minute sails. Tickets are about $ 35. You can bring food on board if you’d like, but no beverages. They sell drinks (both adult and non-​adult) on board.
The catamaran uses a motor to get down the river and out of the mouth. Once out in the open seas, they’ll shut off the motor and raise the sails. At that point, you’re allowed out on the netting which is a great way to relax and cool off.
The staff is friendly and does a quick safety presentation before leaving the dock.
