Pretty damn good brunch food. Came here on a Saturday around 11am and surprisingly it wasn’t packed. There was a decent amount of people spread our across the restaurant, which is huge. There was outdoor seating but it was gloomy that day so we chose to sit instead. I ordered the chicken fried steak with biscuits & gravy and it was so good. I devoured the entire plate. I would go back just to eat it again. Prices are reasonable too. Parking is easy, right in front. Cards accepted.

Not sure what the hype on this place is, but we came here one morning after an overnight camping at the Sycamore campgrounds. Usually after a weekend of hiking, any hot meal that’s not grilled sausages, patties, or freeze-dried food is always amazing. They have a fairly large menus so maybe I just got the wrong thing. What I got was the«Seafood» Benedict which was just a very sad looking and hollandaise goop. And it was just as flavorless as it looked. The«seafood» was just some very obviously previously frozen bay shrimp within the goop. My husband got the blueberry pancakes which was also just as unmemorable. He normally could finish 4 stacked pancakes, but this time left about half of it on his plate. On a very important note, there are no mimosas here either which is very sneaky because they have all you can drink orange juice on brunch weekends which is really odd because who really wants to drink that much orange juice?

I really want to love this restaurant. It is a Newbury Park staple, … BUT it is in desperate need of a makeover. I feel horrible writing this, but on more than one occasion there was a body odor smell that is hard to ignore. Not sure if it is from old carpeting or old furniture. The restaurant is charming, the staff friendly, and the food decent. Please, please remodel.

I honestly don’t know how this place got four stars. I’m sure it’s got a lot of loyal diners. Place is outdated and looks like it’s been around for a long time. I’m all for quaint and charming places like this but their food is below sub par. Their food is so bland and boring and I say that conservatively. I ordered the Denver omelet… They are so fortunate that I lost all the pictures I took that day but we had a surprise creepy crawly friend in our booth. A little black cockroach was crawling right on top of my daughter’s seat and I quickly signaled the bus boy to take care of it. I respectfully said it on the DL and not make a fuss in front of all the diners that morning. The bus boy awkwardly squished the bug and walked away. Nonetheless, we still left a generous tip since our waitress was on top of things. Wouldn’t bet us coming back…

I’ve been meaning to update this review. I guess my previous(and only) bad experience here was a one-off because I’ve been back several times and everything has been lovely. Absolutely zero complaints from the last 6+ times I’ve been back.

I didn’t think much of this place whenever I drove by it, but when I came here with company, my mind was blown and I’m always excited to come back!!! First of all the interior is really WOW! Super decorative(which I love), and it has a home-y feel to it like you’re almost in someone’s home. Everything is really clean and when you sit down, you feel cozy. Second of all, the FOOD!!! It’s super delicious comfort food!!! At first, I thought it was kinda pricey and I’m used to trying out new cuisines so the menu didn’t really stand out to me. But I was wrong! Oh my gosh, the portions are HUGE(which is great for a big eater like myself) which makes the price worth it and I keep coming back for the turkey/mashed potatoes/cranberry dish! It’s like having Thanksgiving dinner all over again! And the bread they give you before your meal is so yummy. Lastly, I was really impressed when I told my server that I wanted to split the meal with my boyfriend and they didn’t have a problem with that(usually other servers get annoyed). He came back and provided two separate plates for us(so we didn’t have to do it ourselves) and still gave us plenty of food!(It was supposed to be a half portion but it felt like a full portion!) Usually, I don’t really care about how great the service is(unless I’m in a high-end restaurant), but I have to say that they really took care of us here. Great hospitality and I have nothing but positive comments to say about this restaurant! I really hope this place stays around for a looooong time so I can keep coming back here, and leaving fully stuffed and happy!

I love their French Toast!!! It’s delicious. My kids went to Country Harvest for the first time recently and they asked why I hadn’t brought them before. It’s a local favorite and now my kids are #1 fans. I love their omelettes too but honestly, their french toast is so good that I just have to get that almost every time! Their kids meals are the best deal ever(fairly priced and large portions). The service is always good and the food never disappoints.

I find myself eating at the same restaurants, which has gotten boring. I tried Country Harvest and was delighted. The wait staff was warm and friendly. THe food came out hot and ready to enjoy. The portions were big. I had a wonderful bacon, cheese burger with waffle fries. The price was about $ 5.00 less than at other restaurants. The raisin soda bread and muffin were delicious. My favorite is coconut cream pie. I have returned with a friend. We ordered dinners and took home enough for another delicious meal. I will be a regular.

This 1 star rating has nothing to do with the food, but with the poor service we received from our waitress, Carla. She didn’t seem interested to assist us. When we looked at her and how she talked to the other guests, she made conversation with them. But when she went to see us, everything was so abrupt. Even with the way that she refilled my coffee, she did so without care, and even spilled a little bit of coffee on the table. It’s unfortunate. The bus boy today was wonderful, the food was great, the hostess was also pleasant. But Carla ruined the experience.

Exactly how breakfast food should be made! Fresh, savory and delicious! My favorites are the corned beef hash(well done) and the Belgian waffle. This is the first place I think of if I want breakfast food. They also offer lunch items but I haven’t tried those yet. I bet they’re amazing! You won’t go wrong at this place.

Totally kitschy décor, I’m not gonna lie. However the people could not be any nicer and the service is great. It is not a place to bring your foodie friends but good for an omelette with a biscuit and coffee. My kids say their strawberry shortcake is the best so maybe give it a try.

Have always loved their food and menu. They had a brush with the health inspector at the end of last year that had us staying away. We are glad we gave it another try. Seems clean inside and the food was delicious. Definitely back on our list of favorites.

I grew up in Newbury Park and both my parents and I were long-time patrons. My wife is an Army Sergeant and didn’t get her military discount. The server said that no coupons, senior and military discount for to go orders. My wife told the server that whether she eats there or not, it doesn’t erase the fact that she is a military personnel. The server just brushed the comment aside and said: «Sorry, Sweetie». I always get a military discount there for my phone orders. My wife is an immigrant of 20 years and is a naturalized US citizen through the Army. We live on Dewey Ave but because of this disrespect, we would not patronize your restaurant.

We really love this place. It’s not fancy but is very good. The food is simple. Homemade muffins and Irish Sodabread. We always have desert. Most of the pies are made in house. Ya gotta hit this spot.

Excellent food, and not too crowded on a Sunday morning. Seven of us were promptly seated and well attended to. We asked for a few substitutions — no problem. Generally we had standard breakfast items, nicely prepared and presented. No complaints.
