Stop there today for gelato. Had the tiramisu gelato it was excellent. The service was impeccable and the place is very very very clean. I would highly recommend this establishment

The owners are so nice and military friendly. They made me feel at home there and I will be returning. We need more small businesses like this in the country.

The staff is friendly for the most part but the frozen yogurt isn’t great. They have the same flavors all the time which is ok but you should switch it up every once in a while. But when I was there the other day I asked where the cotton candy hard ice cream was and was told they haven’t had it in awhile but when I was there a while ago the manager guy said he ordered more since it was so popular. I don’t get why they don’t have it when it was a very popular ice cream. I wish they would bring it back.

This place is amazing. The ice cream, frozen yogurt and array of toppings are really good. A medium sized cup filled with delicious yogurt and ice cream(I mix the two) covered with different toppings will not break the bank– promise!

Great stop for many kinds of soft cold delights. Get off 84 when backup and enjoy. Had soft ice cream and lots of toppings. Tried many of the ones that I have not done before enjoyed the service.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. It was very clean, had good ice cream and milkshakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Surprised at the poor reviews. This place is the cleanest froyo/ice cream/gelato place in the area(or my area, by Poughkeepsie/Fishkill/Wappingers). The place always looks immaculate, the toppings are just enough where it’s very varied but not overwhelming. The gelato tastes great and the people behind the counter are very friendly. One of the counterpeople gave all the kids in the place this Sunday afternoon a free cookie! Hiw awesome is that? I love this place and will keep telling others so their business prospers… as it should!

I’ve been waiting for this place to open because of the gelato but it’s not very good at all, defintely not real italian gelato and it’s clearly not made in house. I got cannoli which was ok, nothing to rave about, my husband got the mint chocolate chip which was a bright green color, not sure what he was thinking and he said the taste was awful. They have this built in yogurt machines where you can get yogurt and toppings and then pay by the ounce I believe. They also had desserts and crepes which we didnt’ try. The staff was friendly and very nice and the place is bright and cheerful but it really wasn’t what I expected, it’s too bad Newburgh could use a real gelato place. I think the novelty of the yogurt machines will wear off but I guess if you have kids this might work for you but I would stay away from the gelato.

My girlfriend and I took a trip over to Sophia’s at 9:30 on a Tuesday night. They advertise being open until ten, so we figured everything would be fine and we wouldn’t be that awkward customer that walks in five minutes before closing. We were incorrect by a long shot. Aside from the frozen yogurt dispensers dropping a bit of melted yogurt in our cups before the frozen yogurt actually started coming out, there were no toppings available. This is a two star review over a one star solely because the employee did say«I already cleaned and covered all the toppings. I can get you spoons if you want though.» She did technically offer so they get some credit here. However, assuming a different spoon needs to be used for each topping container as to not cross-contaminate products from an allergy perspective, this didn’t really seem feasible when we were holding already dispensed frozen yogurt in our hands. Also note some of it started off melted and it would have been terribly awkward to have the employee actually bring out spoons. Whenever we visit either of the other frozen yogurt places in the area, both of our cups weigh out to a price between $ 5-$ 6 typically. Somehow, without any toppings, our total was $ 8 and change. The taste of this frozen yogurt is also subpar compared to the other options around. We will definitely not be going back to Sophia’s.

The yogurt flavors here aren’t good at all. They taste like someone dumped a bucket of salt in the batch. I tried several flavors and all were salty. The gelato was ok, but not as good as you can find in The City. With other frozen joints in town, I would not recommend this place. 1 star for the convenient location and big outdoor space.

This place has improved since last year. We were not fans at first but they seem to have added some good flavors and the frozen yogurt taste better. They now have sample cups so that you can taste test before you commit to a flavor. They are definitely trying and are worth a second chance.

I’ve been waiting for Sophia’s to open for about 5 months now. Finally today, I was able to make a stop by on my lunch break. Very nice inside and outside. A lot of space to hang out with friends. They offer around 9 different flavors of Froyo, and many flavors of Gelato. I got canolli geloto and it was amazing. I will definitely be going back very soon… maybe even tonight…

I’m pretty easy going on new businesses in the area but 3 stars is pretty generous at this point for Sophie’s. It’s clear they’re training the staff so expect some bumps in the carpet(not literally) but with learning the system and getting down their customer rapport. I was greeted cheerfully upon entrance, I chose two samples of pistachio gelato. It was clear that they would from two different companies and weren’t made on the house. I chose the one that had less ice crystals already in them, I chose a small cone because I knew that they were just getting going and probably didn’t have everything down pat yet. Up to this point everything was going well, the girls behind counter were friendly were in the process of ringing me up. When we got to the cash register was when my experience turned sour, a rather abrupt gentlemen who seemed to be of the management category started off by chastising the girls who helped me about the small cone which I had put on the weighing scale myself; stating it wasn’t for that purpose. I felt that I had to interject that I had placed it there myself rather than allow the girls to get in trouble. I’m not even sure if this guy was a part of management he seemed to wear the uniform of a local construction worker or carpenter anyway he continued to train this girl on debit card machine with no kind of compassion and promptly rung me up for a large cone… At this time I’d really had it, he clearly had no clue the size/cost of his own products being sold. Not once did he make eye contact or engage with me in conversation as any new manager/owner would and should do. So I end up walking out with a small cone which I WAY over paid for and hopes that this place gets its shit together because driving to Weirs for good ice cream is getting old. First impression sucked at this place. At least the customer service was promising from the initial counter interactions.
