The best local sushi in the area. Staff is friendly and pleasant. The fish is always fresh and there are lots of great options to choose from. Itzmi is my go to sushi restaurant in Orange County and there isn’t a better one around. You can’t go wrong w this place! 5 stars:)

Best sushi by far, clean and owner operated ! The home run ball is amazing. Restaurant is clean and neat with solid service. It is clear the rich is fresh and never frozen.

I’m a self-proclaimed sushi snob. I acquired the taste on the street of St Marks in Manhattan, then honed it eating a la carte at Sushi Yasada every time I came in and out of Grand Central. I often dream of sitting in front of Jiro while his collection of sushi pieces dance around me then wake up with cold sweats that only go away after an hour of meditating on the delicate tastes of raw fish. Okay. Maybe I’m more of a sushi-addict…but I’m still hard to please. But man did Itzmi please. I so passively placed that first precious piece atop my tongue to meet my palate’s pleas. It quickly came close to their closing time, and I cursed contractual curfews as I considered refusing to leave if not for the police. And alliteration aside, my animalistic appetite was amazingly assuaged from the very first piece. The fish was remarkably fresh, and the special rolls were like grand symphonies of flavor with each ingredient bursting to a tenor their very own before mixing in your mouth and slowing to a delicious adagio. I think Itzmi has gotten me in love with sushi again. Highly recommended. Overall experience: 4.83÷5.00

Very friendly staff and warm, welcoming environment inside. Sushi was fresh and tasty and the sake was piping hot. Salad that comes with entrée could be improved, its no more than a few iceberg leaves and single cherry tomato. I will come back again. Thanks

Great food. Fresh and fresh cooked. We love the seaweed salad and the TNT roll. Had friends here several times and everyone loved the food whether it was raw sushi or cooked entrees. Well worth your time and money.

This was our second time at Itzmi. We had three meals yesterday evening. I had a Hot Pot(4*s). My daughter had the California Roll Dinner(3*s) and my son had the Sampler Box for 24.99.(3*s) Overall, the food was adequate, if just a bit expensive, for the locale. The single biggest issue for the restaurant is its physical shabbiness, what we would call atmosphere(1*). The location really needs a paint job, new carpets and the removal of way-to-old decorations. The restaurant seems uncared for and it is hard to separate the perception of the location and the thought that it’s seeming shortfall may translate to the food preparation. My wife, that is more fastidious than the kids and I, was so disgusted, on our last visit, that she will not return. Itzmi could score significantly better, but, at the moment sits at 2*s, impacted hugely by its disrepair.

We have been coming to Itzmi for the last 5 years now. We have tried most of the food on the menu and I cannot recall having one bad meal here. For my wife and I, we usually start off with the TNT special roll as an appetizer, and order 2 hot stone pots for our main course. We also love the spicy chicken wings and shrimp tempura appetizers. From the owners to chef and servers, they are all very friendly, sincere, and accommodating. The service is usually fast prices are reasonable.

One of the Best if not the BEST Sushi/Sashimi Restaurant in the area. Service, Quality, Ambiance and Price. Very friendly and clean.

Excellent service, very polite and attentive staff even though we came in one hour before closing time. Highly recommended and would definitely return. We got the sushi and sashimi deluxe along with some other rolls.

Firmly in the ‘Meh!’ category. Fish was not the freshest, portions meager(even for sushi), prices similar to big city restaurants, service pleasant but slow. I don’t get all the positive reviews but must be that this is the ONLY sushi restaurant in the area. I dined and got lunch specials with my family and even my young kids left hungry. California rolls were mostly cucumber, a tiny amount of imitation crab and avocado. Salmon and yellowtail rolls had ‘homeopathic’ amounts of fish.

Meh. Been waiting 20 minutes just to have my order taken. Another 30+ for the food to come. Poor wait staff– or lack thereof. Chill vibes though and good music.

Awesome place here in Newburgh! VERY fresh sushi. Probably the most soft fresh salmon I’ve ever had with tons of flavor on top. Got the TNT roll and the Phoenix roll. Both prepared to perfection! Definitely will be back! You also get a free half of a pineapple slices for dessert! Awesome find!

This place has delicious food! It makes me love Japanese food even more, the only thing I would request is to reduce the price of your homerun ball a little, but other than that I love this place and will be coming here again. Those of you who love Japanese, try this place!

Food is consistently great and service is wonderful. It’s hidden in a shopping plaza, but they have signs out on 300. Our favorite menu items include the spicy wings(appetizer), gyoza, hot stone pot, and many of their sushi options. Only(very minor) complaint is we wish they had more non-fried/sweet sauce sushi options, but that doesn’t keep us away!

LOVETHISPLACE!!! I always order the Phoenix Roll and home run ball and I can’t even explain in words how much I love this place if I keep writing I will ramble on with to many thoughts coming out at once and they won’t make any sense. But I ask you to please try this place and come up with some words of your own

I just recently moved back to New York after living in Hawaii for the past five years and I was eager to find a place where i could get amazing sushi in the Newburgh area. I read really good reviews on Unilocal and after looking through the menu I decided to give it a shot. The place was beautifully decorated and it was busy inside which is usually a good sign. Unfortunately, I was seated next to the most obnoxious family which may have contributed to my frustration with my visit. Anyway, service was a bit slow as the waitress was constantly tending to that family sitting next to me. I finally ordered the spicy itzmi roll and it was eh. I’ve been spoiled with really fresh ahi and it did not taste fresh at all to me. I feel like I should give this place another shot and i’m sure I eventually will given my sushi options seem to be limited in orange county.

Simple, comfortable and always delivers quality food. Been going here for years and never been disappointed, same lady serving and she remembers your pet dishes and always tosses in a few on the house treats to her regulars. I do miss the old menu with the artwork.
