History

Established in 2000.

GlasSolutions’ history dates back to 1954 when James Distefano Sr. opened Real Glass Company in Newburgh, NY. With the help of his wife Millie in the office and one assistant glazier, Jim began providing glass and metal work to many businesses and homes in the Hudson Valley. Real Glass quickly became well known in the local construction community as a company that could be relied upon for quality work, friendly service and a fair price. Window repairs, shower enclosures, storefronts and mirrors were all provided to his customers.

During the 1970′s Jim’s two sons George and James Jr. started working part time in the family business and began to learn many aspects of running the company. Upon graduation from Marist College in 1976 George started working full time and in 1999 he started GlasSolutions Unlimited Corporation located at the Newburgh, NY facility. Today GlasSolutions has three locations throughout the Hudson Valley and over twenty employees.
