You may want to know what kind of photographer I am… I found it very hard to define that. I really love taking pictures of everything from nature to pens on a table, and the quiet moments when my dogs are sleeping on the couch. I would like to say I’m a «life» photographer, but I recently found the term that other photographers use, which is «Lifestyle Photographer.» This just means that I am not traditional, I like capturing candid moments the best. The reason why? Well, why do we take pictures in the first place? It’s to capture a moment that you want to reflect on or re-​visit. Remember that time the kids got into the flour and it was all over the kitchen? Yeah, those moments are the most fun to look back on. I try to capture some of those in all of my sessions.

My background is in art, graphic design, and marketing, but I have always been drawn to photography and decided to specialize in that. I wanted to specialize in capturing emotion and love.

You may want to know some facts about me before we get into all the «why I became a photographer» stuff:

I grew up in Sandy/​Estacada Oregon. I love the trees. Pine and fresh cut grass are my favorite smells. I taught snowboarding in college. I teach graphic design at Beaverton High School. My favorite color is turquoise… or maybe its purple… or coral… I haven’t decided yet. I don’t feel like there is enough time in the day to learn or do all of the things I want to do, and I cannot imagine life without creating some form of art on a daily basis. I love peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, painting with watercolors, pinning images on pinterest that I’ll never look at again, and drinking tons and tons of coffee.
