Newaygo Brewing Co

We decided to make the drive to Newaygo and I was glad we did. Went into the Newaygo Brewing Co. and ordered two flights of beer, the homemade sausage kebab sampler, and a bowl of tortellini soup. Great beer and dinner was enjoyable. The beer is well made and made the drive worthwhile. I had great wait staff (April) and the manager (Hailey) stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was good. See my photos.

Such a nice brewery. Had a couple of flights and tried a great variety of beers. They have beer, cider and wine plus serve some pretty amazing food. Had the shish kabobs brats appetizer and it was great! 3 different brats and 3 different sauces. And to top it off a pretty awesome carrot cake for dessert. Will definitely be back.

A surprising gem on the west side of Michigan. i am not really a beer drinker, however every one that I have tried has been very good. The staff is friendly and knows their stuff when it comes to the product. The food is light and delicious.

Beer is OK, waited an hour for our food. Manager finally came over and said 25% off of one of the meals. A big 2.23 savings

Worst place I have EVER been! We waited almost a half an hour for a glass of wine, waitress was absolutely the rudest person ever. Food was mediocre at best and VERY expensive for what you get. This place will not make it at this rate. I would NEVER go back!

Great beer and yummy pizzas. My favorite is the Coconut Brown. You cannot go wrong no matter which beer you choose! They also brew their own root beer. Try a root beer float!

5 tables with customers and 2 or 3 waitresses– still waiting for someone to notice us after ten minutes. You have to wait to be seated (and u do wait for someone to notice that too). Tried a sample of citrus summer wheat– nothing special and Kristal wheat (actually bad). My husband had to go to bar to get them. We just gave up and left. No idea how the food is but that was ridiculous. Don’t bother going unless u like bad beer and even worse service. Décor was the only nice thing.

Growing pains. Great atmosphere and decent home brewed beer. Food has room for improvement but the bbq chicken pizza was good. Service is odd. Hostess was slow, first waitress was slow and forgot to put put one order in, but after she went on break we got great service finally. Even the potato chips took 10 min to arrive (but they were yummy). Hope it gets better!

This little brewery in this little town started out good and is just getting better. The only issue they have had over the first 2 months is they couldn’t make enough beer. That is a high quality problem. As of today they have 14 beers on tap. They also recently expanded their menu so there are many choices for good food and great beer. If your in the area it’s worth the drive.

I really wanted to LOVE this brewery, as it’s in my hometown. We visited on the 4^th of July and the place was moderately busy, no wait and tables were turning over fairly quick.
My husband ordered a flight, he’s the beer drinker in our family, and said all the beers were «okay». Meads and ciders coming soon, so might try again on the next visit home.
My biggest complaint — poor service! First, after noticing tables seated after us getting beer we asked if we could order, and it was still several minutes before our server came over. We ordered the pita points, to share, but our waitress didn’t bring us small plates so it was a bit awkward to eat. They were good, but not enjoyable as we had to eat out of our hand and the sauce dripped on to the table. We would have asked for additional plates but never saw her again. We even had to ask a different server for our check.
I’m generous with two stars, as the service ruined what was good — and I really want this place to be successful so I will try again on next visit.

There has always been an abundance of uninspired garbage food in Newaygo. Greasy-​spoon diners, typical GFS restaurants serving all-​you-​can-​eat fish and Salisbury steak. Also burger joints. Lots of burger joints (the unholy trinity of Wendy’s, McDonalds, and Burger King all exist in a town of less than 2000 people). Newaygo has needed a place like this since forever. The Brewers know what they are doing, and this beer is top-​notch. Their menu is excellent too. It isn’t focused around typical ‘Murican «cuisine». There are actually lighter options and even a good selection of vegetarian options that aren’t salads! Best place to eat and the best beer in the County.

As excited as I was to try a brewery in Newaygo Michigan, I was disappointed with my experience unfortunately.
The brewery has a vibe of a seated restaurant that happens to make their own beer rather than a brewery that serves food. The actual bar is small and uninviting and there is no space to hang out or dance to the music. Just «wait to be seated» then stay at the table until you leave…
Our initial server was great. Very friendly and in-​depth in explaining the beers. Unfortunately after tasting four beers including the IPA, the wheat ale, a nutty beer and another I don’t remember and being totally unimpressed with all, we ordered our obligatory pints and stayed seated.
The food menu is OK, I heard the pizza is decent but honestly can’t rate the brewery on the food.
About 10 minutes in, our server said he was going to leave and pass us over to another server. She asked us how we were doing every two minutes and brought us our checks way prematurely.
It all worked out because neither of us could finish our mediocre beers so we paid and ventured onward.
Disappointed and likely will not return.

Great beer, great pizza! The a bigger! iPa is a great beer. Very hoppy, smooth and a great after taste!

I got the pizza and breadsticks to go today on my visit back home. I got a $ 12 12″ pizza with 3 toppings (they accidentally added ham as well).
Both were very average and makes me wonder if the pizza would have been better straight from the oven. I liked the large sausage topping.
I heard the breadsticks were supposed to be great, but I found nothing epic about them. The order could have used more dipping sauce compared to the two tiny containers provided.
Flip side — it looks like a fun place for those who like to drink. I liked the lounge area by the door.

I’m going to paint the picture… I drove around the back to park, as I approached the brewery I decided to snap a pic of the back of the building, immediately after I was greeted by one of the brewers and he asked me if I’d like to come in to see the brewing process. As I took a tour around and talked to the fantastic staff they were telling me how their idea started just 14 months ago and how they’ve come to where they are now, and the work that they put in is truly noticeable, that have turned a old business front into an absolutely beautiful business. As I sat down at the bar I immediately noticed that that have a wide selection of different types of beer, a selection to please everyone! I ordered the espresso stout, and it is one of the best coffee stouts I’ve had in a long time, I can easily see this business becoming the cornerstone of Newaygo and bringing more business to a beautiful small town. If anyone loves beer regardless of your taste preference you need to visit this amazing establishment, I promise you that you will be astounded in every possible way.

Nice cozy slice of big city style in little ol’ Newaygo. Paying homage to local logging history, this place is an up-​and-​comer worth the stop. Try the Wild Eye-​P-​A and you won’t be disappointed. Big coffee bite with and IPA finish and slightly carbonated mouthfeel. Didn’t have time for food but the dishes others had looked good.

By far the best place to eat and drink in the entire county. Loved the pizza, and the beer was terrific! Pretty much the only place within miles to get an interesting menu AND drinks at the same place. Excellent ambience with friendly staff. Classy interior. Almost forgot I was in Newaygo, except for the tasteful logging-​themed décor.
