Came in this evening to eat! I had the baked ziti! My husband had the shrimp Alfredo and found hair in his food! The manager swore it wasn’t and couldn’t be his hair, therefore it was from the shrimp! He had the worst service and the worst attitude possible! Refused to admit it was hair! He told my husband because he had already eaten most of the food he didn’t know what to say, except it wasn’t hair! We told him we would still pay for it and he walked away saying it wasn’t hair! He ended up not charging us after everyone in the place including the waitress told him it was hair! Will never return!

I’ve been trying to find good or decent NY style pizza since I moved back to TX10 months ago and this place finally ended my search. The pizza is exactly like the pizza I grew up on in Lido Beach on Long Island, its also the same you would find anywhere in Manhattan when you were looking for a slice. At $ 12 for a large cheese the price is well beyond excellent and I’ll be back many times over. On a related note, my company had a meeting there a few weeks back(when I discovered the place) and everyone in our 20 person party left full, satisfied and happy with both the service and the product. We had about 10 pizzas total, from just cheese to meat lovers and all between and each was as good as the next, not one single bad slice in the bunch. The only thing you should know in advance is the place is a little run down and you have to walk through the front bar area to get to the dinning area but its all over 10 steps so it didn’t bother me but someone else might take issue with it. My advice is walk quickly, the food is well worth anything negative.

I’ve eaten at this place for years, however it seems that it is no longer much of a restaurant as it is a bar now. I walked in tonight to pick up a pizza to go. During my time in there I was approached about buying a drink while I waited. I told them that I have a long drive and I’d rather not. The lady tried her best to change my mind. Then, I had a bar patron standing in a corner obviously drunk staring a hole through me as if he was looking for trouble. It was extremely uncomfortable. I don’t believe that I will be taking my family in there to eat again. It’s too bad as we really liked to eat there. It used to be a decent place to take the family to eat some fantastic Italian food. The pizza is still really good, if you dare enter.

I was on the fence about whether I should give Venice Pizza & Pasta 1 or 2 stars, but I believe 2 is appropriate. I’ll start with why I gave them 2 stars: 1) We had the stuffed meat lovers pizza with white sauce for our meal. As an appetizer we had mozzarella sticks and wings. The 18″ pizza was HUGE. However, the pizza itself was simply mediocre. The crust was cooked great with the right amount of crunch to it on top, but the bottom crust appeared to still be a bit doughy. The wings were cooked well, but had a lot of sauce on them – like, too much sauce. The mozzarella sticks were good. Nothing special, just good. 2) Our server was attentive. She seemed a bit shy and uncomfortable with conversing with customers, but overall she did a fair job. This is why I didn’t rate them higher than 2 stars: 1) Upon entry to the restaurant, one is quickly met with the stench of old, stale cigarette smoke. This smell encompassed the entire restaurant. Typically I would’ve turned around to leave at that point, but it was slim pickings in Newark, TX on a Wednesday at 8:45pm. 2) I ordered a water. The water tasted dirty. I tried to look beyond it, but after a hot day on the lake, I wanted/needed water and that water there was nasty. Since I didn’t like the water, I ordered Sprite. It was flat and tasted like it was made using the same dirty water I was trying to replace. Then my husband decided to order me a pink lemonade. Finally, something good to drink! It really was good. Good enough for me to request a to go cup. The waitress happily obliged me — with a dirty styrofoam cup. I know someone reading this is probably thinking that at this point of the experience I was just looking for excuses to be dissatisfied with the restaurant and that it couldn’t possibly be that bad. Well, fellow Unilocalers, it was just that bad!

Had a client recommend this place for New York style pizza. Decided to eat out here one night. The New York style pizza is amazing! Will definitely be coming back! The sauce is better tasting than«Joe’s» in Saginaw and«Big Joe’s» in Haslet. If you want a pizza better than fast food pizza come here!

Extreamly poor service. For 6 people our food literally took 1 hour and 15 minutes, and none of the food came out at the same time. Two of our children’s food was out in 20 minutes and the other took beyond an hour. The waitress seemed to think there was nothing at all wong with this and actually argued with us about it not being their fault. Every single table in the place was dirty, while the waitress stood at the bar chatting. The actual food, when it got here was marginal at best. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Will NOT ever be back.

Food was delicious, albeit a little greasy. Would definitely return to try everything on the menu.

This is the pizza place that delivers to our house in Shale Creek subdivision in Rhome TX. Most of the time they are really good although we have had some really bad orders recently it’s not up to par with what we’ve been use to from them in the past. They do make it up to you with your next order but that doesn’t change the fact that when your hungry and get a bad meal it’s really bad. We’ve had the pizza, Italian subs hot wings and lasagna and I have to say It still to me beats the Hell outa of The other choice… Mr Jim’s pizza

A small family owned place in Newark, TX. A couple of miles West of Hwy. 287 and FM718. My wife and I have been eating here for the last 5 years and have enjoyed every meal. Lets start with the pizza. By the slice or by the pie. Either way it is delicious. Hand made and hand tossed dough is their building block to a great pie. Just enough sauce without being sloppy. Fresh ingredients round out the rest. If you get a large you better have a hungry family to feed. BIG pieces you can fold in half and eat just like you were standing on a street in New York. Then there is the Stuffed Pizza. Ow Wow! This pizza is thick and hardy! Now on to the rest of their menu. Appetizers — ok. Mostly prepackaged. Salads — Large and fresh. The House Dressing is a tomato based vinergrette that is very tasty. The Anti-Pasta Salad is my favorite. Main Courses — Veal, Chicken, Pasta, Seafood. All the basic food groups are there and they are all good. The Veal is tender and flavorful, the Chicken is moist and the Seafood is fresh. But my favorite is their Pasta. The Spaghetti with meat sauce and a large Meatball cannot be beat! The Manicotti is ow so good and the Raviolis are large and decadent. Add in a full service bar, a great wait staff and friendly owners and you have a winning combination. So, if you are looking for a great Resturant and don’t mind going a little out of the way, you cannot go wrong with Venice Pizza and Pasta. This is a great Foodies stop!

Been eating here for 7 yrs. Their pizza is same as New York Style and just as they advertise it. They have dinners as well, and the pizza is affordable and good sized.
